Alta Crystal Resort is at the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park and the bottom of Crystal Mt. Drive 3 miles from the ski area. Very nice accommodations for everyone from single to small family's to a honey moon cabin for two. Full sized heated swimming pool and separate hot tub. All units have full kitchen and bath. Snow shoe...

Stayed one night to see Mt. Rainier and would certainly go back. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Very well-equipped unit and the reception store. We arrived quite late and were able to find sufficient offerings for a light late-night dinner. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Brilliant location. A definite repeat.

No better place to stay if visiting sunrise at Mt. Rainier. Rustic suites with full kitchen, living room with fireplace and small bedroom. The staff was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful. Small grocery store in reception area with everything you would want for a simple meal including beer and wine. The hot tube was great after a long day of...

We stayed in the unit in the picture. It was very nice and well equipted. A great place to stay when visiitng Mt. Rainier. We enjoyed the wood fireplace for the cool evenings as well as the hot tub after hiking all day. They have frozen gourmet meals that are precooked and just need to b e heated in the...

We enjoyed our girls weekend at Alta Crystal. As some have said, it's not fancy but very comfortable. Nice having a kitchen and living room vs. staying in a hotel. Jennifer at the front desk was very, very helpful in helping us plan a couple of hikes. She recommended Naches Loop and it was fantastic. We were in a loft...

My family is conflicted regarding the Alta Crystal. On the one hand, the location, just outside the NE entrance to Mt Rainier Natl park, right smack in the middle of a national forest, is completely beautiful. On the other hand, we found it a little presumptuous to call it a resort. True, there is a nice pool and hot tub....

This was our first time at Mt. Rainier and we could not have asked for a better home-base. The resort was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We stayed in a loft chalet which was the perfect fit for our family of 4 with 2 early teens. We made good use of the pool after a few daily hikes - perfect end...

I have stayed at the resort previously and had wanted to share this gorgeous place and a trip to Sunrise and Crystal Mountain with my son, daughter in law, and grandkids. Since my husband couldn't come this time, there was room for all of us in a chalet loft suite. A problem came up in that I have a Havanese...

Could not have been better, great weather, perfumed air, warm sunshine; the 'compact' loft suite was more than adequate for a clan of 6, little time was spent inside, however, having spacious grounds & surrounding to roam, the young ones (including a 75YO) thoroughly enjoyed the pool & hot tub, the BBQ was excellent, fellow guests were friendly & anxious...

Frankly when we first got there I was a little underwhelmed. This place was a lot more $$ than lodging at the southern part of Rainier and I was expecting a grander place when we checked in. Check in area is a desk in a corner of the "market". But don't let that stop you. This place delivered what it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The perfect getaway for Mt. Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain. Charming chalet suites & a romantic honeymoon log cabin are tucked in the national forest, just 1 mile outside the northeast entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park & 7 miles from Crystal Mountain and its new Mt. Rainier Gondola. Soak in our hot tub and swim in our year-round heated pool (heated to 90° in the winter) -- we're Crystal and Mt. Rainier's only accommodations with both. Fireplaces, small fully equipped kitchens and renovated mountain lodge style accommodations are perfect for couples and families. Guests love our evening activities (weekends, holidays and summers) such as bonfires, movie nights, karaoke, crafts parties, and summer barbecues. Hike, sightsee, bike, ride horses, play disc golf in the summer. Ski, snowshoe and play in the snow in the winter. Open year-round. ... more   less
