My wife and I stayed at Jimmy’s Place during a tour around the Baccalieu trail. Had a wonderful time. Pauline, Jen and family were so friendly and welcomed us like we weee family. We ended up staying a 2nd night and did some cod jigging. Lovely dinner and breakfast served with a smile. The place was clean and comfortable. We travel a lot and were so impressed with the hospitality. Great to have conversations with them, and makes you feel touched by local Newfoundlanders. Well worth a stay.
Bay de Verde is a special place and Jimmy's is even more special! We came for a weekend out of season and were the only guests. Pauline made us the best fish and chips of our 3 month trip to Newfoundland and one of the best breakfasts of my life! The room was cozy and warm and so were the hosts. Can't recommend enough!
You will be pleasantly surprised. We're not big on B and B but this one was absolutely perfect for us. Room was exceptionally clean and practical. Bed was very comfortable. The view from the patio; priceless. Can't say enough about the service and hospitality. The meals we had were absolutely delicious. We were made to feel at home. Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.
We felt so welcomed and at home here. We only spent one night but Pauline and her family made us feel like family too. A genuine Newfoundland treasure, one of the highlights of our trip. We would stay here again for sure.
It is 'staycation' time in Newfoundland because of Covid-19 so we decided to take a two day road trip around the Baccalieu Trail and booked Jimmy's Place B&B for the one night. There were four of us - my wife & I, our son & his wife. Jimmy's Place was originally a 3 bedroom B&B and they recently added an extension with two additional bedrooms complete with baths. We booked these two room for our one night stay. We were welcomed by the very friendly host and within minutes we were in our room. The rooms were very nice and comfortable with only one issue - no hooks to hang a coat, so the back of the two chairs were it. There was a common area with two tables and since it was raining (so no hiking on the trails as we planned), we sat at one of the tables and played a couple games of cards while waiting for dinner. Jimmy's place is also a small restaurant that currently has take-out only - again because of the Covid-19 issues. However we were advised that B&B guests could eat in if we wanted. Since dining out options in the Bay de Verde area are limited we opted to eat in. The fours of us selected the fresh cod, two of us had the pan fried and two had the deep fried. As we say here -"some shocking good!!". We all had the homemade fries. As a little side dish for the table, our host gave us a bowl of fresh crab claws. During our card game our host gave us a large bowl of homemade potato chips - perfect to go with our drinks while playing cards. In the morning a fresh pot of coffee was ready and we all had the full breakfast. Scrambled eggs topped with cheese, bacon, sausage, toast and melon with orange juice and bottomless coffee. Our host, Pauline, is a very friendly person who made you feel right at home and ensured that you were comfortable. We highly recommend Jimmy's Place as a B&B and also as a great place to eat when you visit Bay de Verde.…
