This place has comfortable beds, and A/C if you are willing to pay an extra 15000 Ariary. Pay for the A/C if you think you might even be slightly warm. Some of the rooms have hot water, others don't. It seems like the nicer ones don't, go figure. The pool is a pleasant addition and the hotel is located really...

Ok so this is a good value for money mid range accommodation. Rooms are clean and so is the linen. Some basic maintenance needed as some things are falling apart but definitely worth the spend. Could improve free WiFi as signal is bad or down.

Friendly and helpful staff - didn't experience any shouting as stated on other reviews. Appreciated the a/c -Toliara is a very hot place but would agree that its not the strongest. Really enjoyed cooling off in the pool. Toilet/shower facilities ample. Hotel central.

AC is tightly controlled by management, so tightly that you get no controller for temperature. They set it where they want to control electricity costs, not your desired temperature. One room's AC is set on a timer to go off after every hour! Saves them a lot on electricity, but the room rapidly heats up once the AC turns itself...

Dear customer, I am very surprised of your opinion. Our air conditioners are not adjust to cut every hour,it would not save some energy, on the contrary, the starting up is more expensive that if it walks continuously.Do you really think that it is our interest that the customers sleep badly? In any case, there is an accessible regulation on...

We stayed at the Mahayana for 4 nights, 2 before we left to travel up the west coast and 2 once we'd arrived back in Toliara. The room was clean and comfortable with mosquito nets provided and hot water in the shower which isn't always guaranteed in Madagascar! We had only booked for one night on our return journey as...

Staff are a mixed lot. Some are really cheerful, whilst others (that's you the French manageress!), need to stop shouting at the kitchen staff in front of the public. Good wifi cnnection and comfortable rooms. Overall, Tulear is a bit of a dump, but this hotel is a nice distraction.

I stayed at Hotel Mahayana Sharangi on more than one occasion. The hotel is an oasis of tranquility in the city of Tulear. The pool is refreshing and the rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Most importantly, I had a good nights sleep every night. The AC option was not needed at the time of our visit. The staff is...

I stayed at this hotel after almost a week of travelling by minibus (private) from Anananarivo. It was a great surprise to find it so clean, well kept, enjoy the pool, and sleep in comfortable beds. The mosquito nets are in perfect shape and the wifi works well too. Its quite expensive compared to local standards, but if you need...

Hi I was staying at the Mahayana earlier this year and can not recommend this hotel. The hotel is nice, clean and well maintained. But the owner or mangers of the hotel kept screaming mostly to each other. So the overall experience was very poor and not opening to go and ask the staff a question for recommendation in town...
