We stayed one night on July 24, 2023. It was raining quite a lot, so I didn’t see the outside until the next day (quite shabby). We entered our room and immediately noticed the shabby state the room was in. The television sat on a low table in the corner of the room, with the wire coming out of the wall (about half way down the wall (weird)); no fan in the bathroom; no hooks anywhere, no shelf or closet; the USB didn’t work. In all, there was no pride of ownership. It was way too expensive for what we got.

Two strikes, and they are out. I stayed in two different rooms over the past couple of months, and felt that the rooms were filthy. The room stunk of musty, cigarette smoke…..I’m not sure what; just smelled filthy. The room carpets have obviously never been cleaned. A coffee stain on the linoleum told me that the non-carpeted portion of the room had never been cleaned either. I ended up cleaning up a dried coffee stain, in a room that I had just checked into. When pointed out to the On-duty manager who took me to my room, he said, oh well, and then walked away. The on-duty person also seemed incredibly confused; when I talk to him on the phone, I had to give him my one night date no fewer than eight times. I was quoted $95 a night over the phone; I wrote it down, so I was not confused. Upon arrival, he said the price was $130 per night. Bar fridge in the room made so much noise, that I had to unplug it to get to sleep. Overall, a very negative experience. I will never stay there again, even if I have to pay more.

Owners are friendly, tv is small and I mean small, the room had a weird smell so I left the door open for a while, guess it’s ok if you just need somewhere to lay your head! I’ll spend an extra few bucks and stay at the place up the road next time.

I stayed here last minute. The first room stunk of cigarette smoke. The second was no better. The third was filthy. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. There was urine on the seat and dirt in the bowl. The sink was filthy. I stripped the beds and actually brought in a blanket from my car to use. I know you get what you pay for but this was bad. Moving the bed away from the wall there was dirty and dust back there that had been there a while. I had no choice but to stay but I sure won’t be back!

Stayed for 3 nights. Motorcycle trip, used this as home base. Clean room, comfortable clean bed. Mini fridge and tv. Coffeemaker and coffee in room. Lake across street, walking distance to downtown Haliburton. Would recommend this value priced motel.

This motel should be closed by the health authourities! Beyond filthy! The dark wine towels shed lint over our bodies. The sagging mattresses and box springs were grimy. Counters, coffee pot and floors were covered with grit. The base of the toilet had not been cleaned in weeks. We survived...one night.

I always go to the cheapest motels when I travel as long as the reviews on Trip Advisor don’t say “Terrible- stay away”. It was an OK room, the first room he gave me smelled from smoke even though it was a non-smoking motel. The second room was OK with mini-fridge and all but the WiFi was terrible. As I live online and need good WiFi, I couldn’t even get onto the network from inside the room. When I walked outside and nearer to the office I got on but it was still very slow. If you need WiFi when traveling, find a different motel.

Our room was completed using the building-block motif. The room was musty smelling and the sheets were the same. The beds look like they had been quickly made-up and caused me to question how fresh they were. TV and mini-fridge worked fine. Owner is quite nice, and the motel itself has a great view of Head Lake, across the highway. Easy walk along the lake to downtown. I can easily understand why it would garner both good and bad ratings. I would definitely stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
