First but definitely not our last visit. Stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage. Cabin (4) was clean and tidy, no complaints at all and enough space for four adults. The location is ideal. Literally, right on the lake with a lakeside patio that serves lunch and dinner. Use of non motorized water crafts was a bonus. Loads of hiking trails surround you. Food was perfect for what we were expecting, (pub style). We look forward to our next stay at Bonnie View Inn.

Love love love it here! From my first encounter with Bonnie at the front desk, Morgan on the patio, and then later the owner, Ryan, I knew I had to stay here. I happened upon this place while looking for a spot for dinner and ate at their Dockside Patio, an absolute must! I booked 2 nights in a single cabin (#22) and never want to leave. The property is stunning: beach, volleyball, docks, water toys, and a short swim to a sand bar!!! Great spot for a family, a couple... or a single (like me!). You won't regret a stay here.

This resort is located in a beautiful spot on the lake. It has a lot of fun water toys on the lake and a small beach that was well kept. I was hoping for a nice quiet weekend up North with my teenage kids. It was definitely not that! We were there for 4 nights. We had cabin #6 which was up near the road that comes down to the Inn and 2 of those 4 days was continual construction equipment beeping beginning at 7am- all day. It was so bad that we ended up leaving the resort for the day just to get away fro the noise. While I get that it is not the Inns fault for the construction by the road, nothing was done to make up for it. Our cabin was literally 5 feet from the trucks and workers. It would have been simple for a staff member to come to our cabin and apologize, maybe offer a free breakfast or drink voucher for having to get up so early on vacation, a discounted rate...just good customer service in general for retention sake. I was going to say something when I checked out...but when I went to do that no one asked how my stay was it was a rush to get me out (and there was no one checking out at that time but me) so they didn't seem to have any concern about how my time there was so now I am writing a review. One of the mornings I went in to the office to get coffee and mentioned how early the constriction started and how loud it was all the guy behind the counter said was "Ya construction sucks"...though he was nice enough to open the door for me at 7:20 when the coffee was not supposed to be available until 7:30. Our cabin looked as thought they attempted to update the bedroom and main room. Furniture was dated but ok, no A/C which was fine for me as there was a fan. The biggest downfall, the bathroom was disgusting and should be updated. There was black mould around the edge of the tub which should be scraped and re-done...and cobwebs up in all the corners as if they do not clean in there. No one wanted to shower in there. If the bathrooms are old the resort should just be sure they are sanitary and clean. The rooms are not cleaned during your stay, yet there is no broom or anything to clean up with in the rooms. The kids wanted to play volleyball and badminton, but getting a turn was a challenge as there is one small court for both. Two of the 4 evenings they closed the court, one for a private function and the second for extra seating for the restaurant on site. The night that the restaurant was busy with a band we thought we would eat at the picnic table that was in front of our cabin, until we realized they took it away to add more seating for their restaurant. Another guest we spoke to said she had personal items set up on the picnic table in front of her cabin, and while she was out they moved them all to her porch and took her table too. It seemed that the staying guests were not as important as the ones that came for dinner. On the plus side there was a great little dessert trailer on site with great ice cream and dessert and the restaurant staff are very friendly. It was a pretty location but I do not think I will be going back. Customer service just needs to be a bit more on top of things. When I am paying a good price for a room I just expect a bit more in that department. It was decent...I would just not recommend it. If something had been done with regards to how brutal the construction was I may have changed my mind. Customer experience is a huge part of people coming back!

Response from Ryan Yates, Owner at Bonnie View Inn

Hi there, I am so so sorry that your experience here at the Bonnie View Inn was sub par. We take a lot of pride in our customer service and our attentiveness as a staff and clearly we did not meet our own expectations or yours. You are completely right that we should have done more to make up for the road construction. As for the cabin, we are certainly hoping to continue to make upgrades and bathrooms are next on the list. Despite the age of the cabins we do have a high standard for cleanliness that was obviously not met during your stay. There are no excuses for that. Again, I am so sorry that you didn't have the typical Bonnie View experience. We would love to have you again at some point. Please reach out to us if you'd like to book something and I will be sure to make it right. All the best for now.

We stayed at Bonnie View (family of 4; 2 parents and 2 young kids) for 6 nights in early July. there is something for everyone at Bonnie View, with relaxing mornings by the lake for adults, plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained on the water, and a great vibe and food on the patio in the evenings. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly. We experienced a true "first" in customer service at Bonnie View as our rental car got a flat tire, and Ryan (one of the owners) personally managed to patch and repair the tire perfectly, which averted a major potential headache during our travels. We extend warm thanks to the whole team at the resort.

Stayed one night in a jacuzzi suite/ lakeview room. Great location on the lower level. Joined others on the patio for happy hour. Cocktail of the day for $6 and appies half price from 3-5. Apps were delicious and drinks were so tempting, we had two! Continued on for dinner and pulled pork sandwich was huge and delicious. Service was very attentive from Delaney ❤️ Breakfast the next morning features another beautiful view and a very filling and delicious eggs Benedict and two eggs special. Service, views, location and food all top notch! Very excited to return in the future!

Wonderful staff and owners, incredible food from the new chef, best mussels i have ever had. Great location on a pristine lake, wonderful swimming, loved the loon calls, awesome sunsets, a true gem, lots of things to do in the area. Almost all the rooms are freshly renovated, even the ones that aren't retain rustic charm of places like Chateau Montebello. A true gem.

Decided to stay one night at this place while passing thru the area and were pleasantly surprised. From the outside the charm is fantastic and once inside the staff we equally charming. We were upgrading from a standard Inn room to a courtyard room with jetted tub, fireplace and a ground floor sitting area which we were very thankful to have. We also had dinner and breakfast which were both well worth the money and the view from the dining room you just couldn't beat. Although there were some great positives there are quite a few negatives also. Some are just the nature of the Inn itself and others are maintenance issues. First note, if you are staying in the Inn itself, I think this would be the quietest area of the resort. Not a lot of people coming and going etc. We however were staying in the courtyard area which has a volleyball area directly in front, cottages on the left side and a lake front patio directly in view. It might be good for a girl's weekend away or a family weekend but for people who want quiet, forget it. We were there in the fall and there was pretty much no one there but i could see how that would differ in the warmer month. Second note, if you are a light sleeper forget staying on the ground floor of the outside lodge. The floors are so squeaky from above that a guest leaving at 5am kept me awake until he finally left and hour later. Third note, this place is charming but borders on run down. The owners have done a marvelous job of keeping this old place maintained but looks like you could sink 2 million dollars into it just to get it up to a "well maintained" standard. Very old, jetted tubs, floors that i thought i was going to fall thru and a side table light that i had to unscrew the bulb to turn it off. Lastly, if you want a nice getaway in the Haliburton area for a night or two and don't want to break the bank, you want waterfront, and you want a good meal that you don't have to travel into town for then this is the place. I would suggest a lakeside cabin or an Inn room with a view but steer clear of the courtyard area. Now, if you're doing a girl's weekend or a guy's weekend away and your more of a mature crowd, then this would be a great fit for you and your friends. the guys can go fishing, the girls can rest and relax on the beach, and everyone can meet up at the lakefront patio and enjoy a great meal and few drinks. the choice is yours!

Due to losing car keys, we found ourselves needing a place to spend the night. A last minute check in had us finding ourselves with a wonderfully cozy, charming space with plenty of room, a great kind-sized bed, sitting area, balcony and a fireplace. We arrived in the dark but awoke to glory of nature and its grand fall colours. ALL staff were wonderfully accommodating to all our needs. A hot breakfast prepared and served to us by the owner himself was fantastic. We would definitely recommend a Fall Getaway to Bonnie View Inn. What a blessing in disguise losing those car keys turned out to be! :)

Loved our room, spacious for our stuff and bicycles, quiet and super comfy bed. The patio serves pub food (burgs, beer, falafel wraps, nachos, hummus platter etc). We ate there one night and relaxed and enjoyed the lake. Super spot.
