We stayed at Mowat Landing Cottages for 3 nights. We had a fantastic time! Trevor was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay! Cottage # 3 - "The Love Shack". Great clean small cabin with King sized bed. Nice deck with BBQ. Great views of the river from inside or on the deck! The kitchen has everything you need - microwave, stove, oven, fridge, pots, pans, utensils, glassware, dishes, etc... No problems at all encountered with any of the appliances. Nice clean bathroom too. Amenities: - No cell phone service, and wifi service that runs a little slow but manageable. - Boats - we rented a 16' Aluminum boat for a couple days. Trevor was amazing - did a great walk-through of it, and showed us some hot fishing spots on the lake! Rental prices were good, and he has life jackets also. Plus there's canoes, kayaks, and other boats for rent. - He has a lot of firewood chopped and ready - all included in the price. - Bring your own soaps, shampoo, and towels - they are not provided. But the bed linen is. - There's a little store on site in the office with a lot of canned goods for purchase in case you need to compliment the food you bring. They sell fishing equipment and bait too. The Area: - The cottage is 15 minutes off of Highway 11. - Government dock/boat launch is next door. River edges are very shallow, so boats with a stern drive may not get into the Mowat Landing docks. Mowat Landing is as advertised. Totally 5-star in terms of friendliness and cleanliness! Matt & Sarah.

Just back from a week at Mowat and it was fantastic! Wonderfully large rustic cabin, equipped with all the creature comforts including a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings. Had our own fire pit and bbq which was perfect (wood was already cut and stacked for us to use). Enjoyed fishing the Montreal River and seeing the plentiful wildlife. Trevor is an awesome host who goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Looking forward to trying ice-fishing next time. We chose Mowat Landing Cottages because we could drive our car right to the cottage, no need to load our food and gear into a boat. Trevor also has very flexible boat rental options (hourly, daily, weekly) as well as many different types of boats available. The boat I wanted wasn't available so Trevor gave us a better boat at the same price...so grateful! Also, because they are his boats on his dock, there is no need to return the boat by a certain time, a boat rental for the day is truly for the entire day. The recently installed solar power system gave us silent power throughout the night which was great for us as we forgot to bring flashlights. No cell signal there but the WI-FI kept us connected with friends and family back home. Fishing the Montreal river was a real treat, unlike all the lakes in Ontario we didn't have to worry about choppy waves or bad weather ruining our boating. There are tons of bays and weedy areas that are full of fish as well as deep water channels and holes, I caught a lot of large mouth Bass which I wasn't expecting. I would definitely recommend Mowat Landing Cottages if you don't want to commit to 7 days of non-stop fishing, a very relaxing experience.

I'll start off with saying that Trevor and Lisa were great hosts. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable enough for 6 of us to stay in. Trevor ensured that we had everything we needed and that the wood stove was maintained while we were out and about for the day. It was nice to return back to a nice, warm and cozy cabin. If you're looking for an amazing place to go ice fishing and snowmobiling this is your place. The cabin is not far from Lady Evelyn lake which we discovered has some excellent walleye fishing, Trevor pointed us in the right direction and he put us on the fish. In addition to lady evelyn there are countless back lakes in close proximity that offer great fishing and snowmobiling as well. The OFSC trail is a short distance down the road from the cabin if you are more interested in trail riding. I encourage everyone to give this place a try. Group had an awesome time at Mowats and we have already booked for 2021. Thanks again Trevor and Lisa.
