My wife and I stayed at this motel on Saturday AUGUST 21st, 2021. When I booked this room (several months ago)..., I specially asked for a handicapped room on the bottom floor as I have mobility issues. Upon our arrival, I was quite disappointed with the bathroom. I was not impressed with their version of what a handicapped bathroom should look like... There was no hand-held shower wand, no heavy-duty "anti-slip" bath mat for inside the tub..., no grab bars mounted on the tub surround and no plastic bench seat inside the tub allowing me to sit while having a shower...! These are essential items for guests who have mobility issues and for the price we paid for this room for one night ($170.00 + tax)..., this was totally unacceptable!! Additionally..., the toilet became plugged (wouldn't flush properly) and my wife had to obtain a plunger from the front desk to resolve this nasty problem.....! Also..., the restaurant was not available to guests because they had a wedding booked..., complete with loud music and fireworks until midnight...., something I believe should have been brought to my attention long before we arrived at this motel so we could make alternative arrangements for lodging.... We will NOT be staying at this motel again!

We are very sorry your stay was not the best. The restaurant does not usually host weddings but with covid, and having to keep guest list to a minimum, that was an option for them. As for the fireworks, we were not aware that they were going to do that. Thank you for bring to our attention, what could be done to make the handicapped bathroom more accessible. The owner has the list and hopefully some of those things mentioned will be added.

This is a lovely place on the shore of Lake Temiskaming. The check in staff were pleasant and efficient. Our room with A King Size bed overlooking the lake was lovely and clean. The bathroom had the amenities one would expect from a hotel of this quality. The restaurant next door, named 28 on the Lake but known and referred to by all as Roosters is very nice with excellent meals and service unmatched in most restaurants anywhere. Sadly the hotel fails on a number of small issues. The king size beds comes with 3 small soft pillows, no other ones to be found or available. The TV offers 300+ channels but there is no channel listing available “you just have to scroll” was the solution. Fair enough but the vast majority of channels are “not authorized”. The only way to find out is to click on the channel. I discovered that CTV feed from Ottawa was not authorized but the feed from Vancouver was. There is more that could and should have been part of a hotel of this quality. To close with more positive information. The hotel provides a lovely bagged breakfast during these difficult Covid days and the coffee provided in the lobby is outstanding. We’ll still stop there again but hope the hotel will deal with some of these issues

Thank you for the great review. Unfortunately, because of Covid, a lot of things were removed from the rooms including the tv guide. If there is anything you need, just come to the front desk and we will do our best to accommodate. We do have extra pillows which we will give out for the asking. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon. So glad you enjoyed our "bagged" breakfast. Hope to see you again. regards Kathy

We stayed at the Waterfront Inn from Sept.23 to Sept. 28/20. Great place to hang your hat. Very clean, and front desk employees were very polite and friendly, check-in was a breeze. All employee’s wore masks, and lots of sanitizing stations available through out. They made sure we had all towels and garbage bags we needed for our stay, as they don’t enter your room through your duration of stay, which I was comfortable with. They had breakfast bags every morning, which had juice box, muffin in sealed package, granola bar, fruit cup, and a bottle of water. We ate dinner in the restaurant on site a couple of times, which is “28 On The Lake”(formally “Roosters”). Great food and good prices, and staff were very friendly. There is a nice boardwalk and bike path along the Lake, for those who enjoy a nice walk or bike ride. I would recommend this motel and would stay again in the future. Cheers

This was excellent. Rooms very clean. Beds super comfortable. Lots of space. Mini bar/fridge section. Very clean bathroom. Each room has own patio to enjoy. This motel is location right on the lake. There is a beautiful boardwalk. One way goes to the marina and the other to a park, mini golf, ice cream shack and do on. Lots of trees and bench and shaded picnic tables and a lovely beach. There is a restaurant and bar onsite with a huge patio overlooking the water. Highly recommend!

We opted for the fancy room for our 20th anniversary. The hotel had just opened up post-Covid craziness, and we think they did a great job. The room is double the regular size, and comes with a stunning view of Lake Temiskaming. At the moment the connected community pool and rec centre is closed down until the virus get managed, but there is a long, beautiful, sandy beach right on the doorstep waiting to be explored. The attached restaurant used to be Roosters, and is now rebranded as 28 on the Lake. It has been very busy during our 3-day stay, so make your reservation in good time and enjoy their patio on the water. New procedures keep housekeeping out of your room during your stay, but they are quick to supply you with anything extra that you need.

Stayed here last weekend with my wife for a couple days of snowmobiling in the area. We had a nice lake-facing room on the ground floor that we could parked the sleds right at the sliding door. Free breakfast was quite good and Tim’s is a 1 min walk. Good parking for trucks and large enclosed sled trailers too. Sled trail starts right off the parking lot.

Thank you for the kind review. Being right next to the lake, as we are, is perfect to catch the trail and go north or south from here. As mentioned Tim's is right across the street and the LCBO also. It is also a 3 minute walk to the downtown area. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Kathy

Nice setting by the lake with a boardwalk and was an overall comfortable facility. The attached restaurant had good food. The room was quiet with a comfy bed and great view of the water (on the lake side) which was accessible within steps. Would go there and recommend to friends.

Thank you for the great review. Another great feature we have along with the lake, is the boardwalk which runs in front of the hotel. The restaurant is located within the same building so no going anywhere to find a meal-very handy. Hope to see you again soon.

Stayed here in March for a hockey tournament. Hotel looked great from the outside and looked ok when got in. rooms need some TLC our room had the curtain rod falling down from the ceiling. Friends room the chair was ripped. Just small things really. That could easily be fixed. Shower was very small and for my husband who is 6 foot 2 not very enjoyable. Bathroom is small compared to other hotels we have staid in. And stayed in a lot with being a hockey family. Now to the part where I think they need to improve on a lot. Upon walking into the hotel lady at front desk was rude. I was looking for my credit card to give her as you always have to and she says “are you coming “ I said our name and that we had reservations. She replied ya we were the only ones there. Then she was explaining the rules as they always fo and very snobby not something I really didn’t want to hear after driving 4.5 hour to get there. Later that night went down to see if we could rent a meeting room so we were not in the halls their rule and same lady said The room doesn’t apply to you and it s $250 to rent I took that as a insult stating we couldn’t afford to pay the rent so needless to say it stayed empty all weekend. And I don’t know about anyone else but no other meeting room even in Toronto is over 150 to rent and you have it till leaving on final day. I think she just didn’t want to do the extra work. There was 2 teams in this weekend and one was young boys and us teenagers. She was having to talk to the boys about playing hockey in the halls and when she saw one of my mothers she stated that she didn’t want to come and talk to our girls for playing mininsticks in the hall. Mom replied. We are teenagers we don’t do that. Staff said we will see Then final night sitting in he hall parent that is at 1040 she coming strolling down the hall yelling “out of the halls in 15 min” then when she gets in the middle of our group yells a again out of he halls in 15 min. Be back at 11 to check. We said so that will be 20 min she turned and yelled again be back at 11. Now I don’t mind her reminding us this but we are all adults and she could have just said in normal voice you must be out of halls at 11 I will be back then to check. Then we might have had a better opinion of he hotel. As of right now I will not recommend this hotel if you have a large group. If by your self fine but not as a group. Look for some where else. There is a holiday Inn up the road. Only reason didn’t go there was the hosting team recommened here.

This privately owned hotel is a great place to stay and well worth the couple of KM drive off the highway. Easy to find and right next to the lake. Clean, staff was very friendly. The Rooster restaurant attached to the hotel is an excellent place to have dinner. If you are looking for ultimate luxury this is not the place but everything seems to be newly renovated. Compares very favourably to a Hampton Inn or a Holiday Inn express. A Continental breakfast is included. We have stayed here a number of times and would stay again if in the area.
