In stayed two nights at the Civic Autograph Collection in Surrey in July. First impressions of the hotel are that it was big, clean and open. Lots of natural light in the common areas, with a good vibe. It was a bit tucked away and I found it a little hard to find the lobby / driveway, but check in was a breeze. The hotel is right next to a transit sky train station, with easy access to other parts of Vancouver I was put in a high room floor with a decent view of the library. The room was clean, bright and modern. Be warned it’s not very large. It has an open concept type layout, with the bed looking out towards the window, the sink behind a separating wall, and then the seperate toilet and shower rooms. If you’re solo or with a spouse it’s okay, may not be with small kids or others. The gym was very nice, large and open with great equipment. I didn’t take advantage of the outdoor pool this time. I had drinks and food in the main restaurant, as well as the titanium breakfast. The breakfast was among the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Service was top notch as well, when the server messed up my dinner order, he fixed it immediately and comped me a drink. I will definitely return when I’m in Surrey. Pros - close to transit, open and bright, good food Cons - area is less desirable, small rooms.…
Our family of 3 stayed here on our way back from the Island. It is newer and very modern, room was super clean. Beautiful finishings in the room and super comfy beds. Pool and hot tub area was nice and clean, I am pretty sure the pool is heated. Nice robes provided in room which were handy to wear down to the pool. Parking in the parkade was an extra charge. Not a big deal but the parkade was a bit confusing, not great signage. The buffet breakfast included was SO good. Huge added value as in my opinion it’s worth about $25+ per person for what was offered. Food was delicious and staff were amazing. The sky train does run right by the hotel. It didn’t bother us, we were on the 8th floor and could hear it slightly but it may be noisier for lower level rooms. No mini fridge which was missed after spending several days in other hotels with them. The coffee provided in the room was very good though. We had our 7 year old with us, she was the only kid we saw during our stay. Hotel seems geared more towards adults but it was a great spot for our small family. I would definitely recommend this hotel, overall beautiful, clean & modern property, with lots to offer.…
As a frequent business traveler, room design makes a difference and I am so rarely impressed. My room at this hotel wasn’t that big but the function of every inch was thoughtful, the design was so contemporary and the value to price is solid. First off, THE best in-room coffee: Illy espresso, just made my stay so much more enjoyable. Complimentary water, a nice touch too. The lobby has a fantastic coffee bar (good for meetings) and the restaurant in the hotel is good too. Tim Hortons across the street, pharmacy and several cheap fast eats if you need them. Literally across the street from the sky train. Staff were friendly and delightful. My only complaint is that the pool is an outdoor heated pool that is closed for the winter, why have an outdoor pool then? It looks so great, will try to come back because of how great a stay I had.…
Third time staying at this hotel and this will probably be my last. First time was very good and the customer service was very high. Second and third time have been more meh I reserved a king suite corner unit but when I arrived, I was told that there were none of these rooms left ...? Hmm, one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing I guess They always seem to give me the room next to the elevator ... wonder what that is about ?
The hotel had a great restaurant right beside with really friendly staff and complimentary breakfast. The rooms were clean, comfy beds and nicely furnished. I loved that the skytrain was across the street. I want to thank the manager and security for finding us a ride to the airport. The internet was down on July 8th and our cab did not show up. It was 3am so the skytrain was not yet working. All in all, my stay was exceptional.
Newer hotel, very modern , and clean hotel. Close to the train station, shops and restaurants. Love the hotel room, except that the bathroom door sometimes hard to open since it is a magnetic door. Overall, it was a great stay.
This is an newer hotel right in the heart of central Surrey. It’s right across the street to the Skytrain and is super convenient if you’re looking for for a budget friendly hotel that makes the rest of Vancouver very accessible through public transit. At first glance the surrounding outside area looks a little ‘rough’, but myself and my family had no issues the week we were there. The room itself was on the 20th floor. It was large enough, very clean, and comfortable (including the beds). We couldn’t figure out the climate control and felt a little warm during the night. The bathroom was again very comfortable, clean and had a great soaking tub. The door to the bathroom is translucent and the window into the bathroom does not blackout, so the summer mornings it gets very bright in the room - bring your eye masks! They offered a breakfast buffet in the mornings that was adequate and completely self-serve. I would definitely stay here again if the price is right.…
It was my first stay at Civic hotel, and at the time of my check in the front desk were very welcoming. Room was a bit small but the view was great. I strongly recommend this hotel for the view and staff are awesome. If I have any request housekeeper are right on the door dropping things. There was a courtesy text as well to see if I need anything. Little feedback about the Dominion restaurant is that servers don't seem to be very excited to be working. The food was great and delicious.
In the emerging skyline of Surrey, sits the newly coined Civic Hotel, as one of the sleekest property's to stay at in this area. Enjoy upscale amenities including culinary classical experiences at the Dominion Bar & Kitchen, fitness centre featuring 24-hour gym and heated rooftop (in season) pool and admirably accommodations. The Civic is ultra close to the skytrain, shopping, Central City Brewing and just over a half hour from Vancouver and the International Airport. High ceilings, light wood and a beautifully hung canoe sculpture were the tidbits of impression offered of the front door and lobby. I was delighted in my King Guest Room which was characterized by warm earth tones and themes that represented the culture and natural beauty of B.C. The mattress and linens were high quality and the bed was positioned to take full advantage of the view out the window and along the wall were an upholstered bench and work table. The chamber was outfitted with a bevy off high-tech appliances and the entrance was adorned in a floor-to-ceiling closet with a full length mirror. The bathroom area contained a long marble counter, sink and storage area. Behind the sink areas was a shower and separate toilet. The patterned glass wall divides this space and the bathroom. The Civic offers locally-produced Deserving Theme Aromatic Spa line of bathroom amenities. On the lobby level is the Dominion Bar & Kitchen, the Civic's signature restaurant serving up new Canadian and inspired dishes. The menu is divided into finger food, forks (small plates), casuals, entrees, pizzas & desserts. If its a burger you want............ there are 2 to choose from ....the Confederation and the Dominion.... and I tried the Dominion.......................Certified Angus Beef Patty, onion ring, smoked bacon & cheddar, cheese, red pepper, relish, mayo, dill pickle, tomato, lettuce, bun. Almost a whole garden of fix'ens. Another super star dish is the Trio of Tacos: long cod, crispy sliced chicken and a veggie pakora in a taqueria-styled tacos in wheat tortillas, had to put this on hold. For a sweet tooth item , I saved enough room for the pumpkin creme brûlée. Service was admirably and dishes brought pleasure to my taste buds. So if you would enjoy a stay in a comfortable room with a seasonable pool and eating in a choice restaurant..........then try the..... The Civic.......One Handsome Hotel.…
I am a frequent business traveller and I was in Surrey BC recently and I had the pleasure of staying at the Civic Hotel My first time at this property and it was a most pleasurable experience Cozy rooms but really efficient and luxurious I was facing SFU and no noise and a terrific view of the area. Huge floor to ceiling windows ! Comfy beds and soft linens made the stay very enjoyable Really excellent vibe at this hotel and I would describe it as chic hip but professional ! Excellent and very professional and courteous staff throughout my stay ! If I can nit pik anything about this property it would be that the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak (I was on the 16th floor) and there is no mini bar fridge in the rooms - which would have been a nice option I will be back - highly recommended !…
