Our room was very comfortable with a kitchenette; lovely multi choices of pillows; access to the pool/hot tub/work out room; breakfast included saved time and money. Convent location near the conference I was attending. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were very comfortable & recommended local eateries that were conveniently walkable.

BW Peace Arch is in a good location, is very clean, and the staff are friendly. The breakfast served is excellent. The beds and pillows are not typical BW quality. We slept fine, but not to the same degree we are accustomed to with BW, which was disappointing. The high cost, which is typical for the Vancouver area, is not justified for the quality of sleep. This room would be $119 anywhere else, with higher quality beds and pillows. Please consider upgrading to make it a true BW if you are going to keep it over priced due to location.

The only reason I gave this review a 2 start was because the room was clean and for the most part renovated. The tub was terrible did not drain properly. The beds were okay to sleep on but very squeaky. Also the TV was very old and actually had a line going across it while on. We really just turned it on to a kids show for my grandson because it was not really watchable. The downfall of this hotel is they have swimming lessons in the pool. We booked this hotel because of the pool and hot tub. We wanted to enjoy it with my Grandson. We were there 2 nights and went swimming at different times and both times they had lessons 2 of the classes had 6 kids. We were told we could use the area of the pool where they were not. I was shocked and advised the lady that we are paying customers at the hotel. She advised you can still use some of the pool. No where on their site to they indicate that swim lessons are done at this pool. I am surprised the Best Western Franchise allows this with out advertising it. We did talk about this on check out not sure if it was the manager. We advised him that this should be advertised on their site and that we had seen other reviews where guests were told they could not go in the pool. He pretty much told us those were lies. He then went on to say due to COVID they had to find other means to keep the hotel running. He did take $20 off a night for us but the room was still $149 plus tax a night. He said you will probably still give me a bad review. I advised no what we will do is provide a suggestion in our review. I was going to give a 3 star but while waiting at the airport we looked up the reviews again and the swimming lesson comments actually went as far back as 2015! So the story about having to add this because of COVID was not truthful. I am all for kids having swimming lessons but Best Western this hotel not advertising this and charging what they do is very poor customer service. Best Western is my go to hotel. I will not stay at this hotel again. I know the response we will get for this review from management will just be we will take this under review. When I read the reviews more closely the ones with swimming lesson comments they have said that for years but they still happen. Likely the reason it is not advertised is because they will have fewer people stay at the hotel. Disappointing stay at this Best Western.

This hotel makes us question staying at Best Western's in the future. It appears that the hotel started renovations and ran out of money. There are no baseboards in the hallways, wires hanging down from ceilings, painters tape on the sprinkler head, etc. We were in a room that had an adjoining door to a different room and there was at least an inch gap under both doors. This meant we could hear every noise from the room next to us - very unnerving. There should at least be weatherstripping on the bottom or something. What was intended to be a romantic night away without our kids ended up being a night without sleep because the people in the room next to us had screaming kids and there was nothing to prevent the sound from entering our room. Questionable cleanliness. No hot water. This may be the worst hotel we have ever stayed at (and we've stayed at some pretty bad ones).

Guests could only use half the pool when swimming lesson groups were there which was every afternoon/evening. This made it difficult especially when other guests came to use the pool. We were not informed of this beforehand by the staff....we found out when we went to use the pool!

The first bad sign was that our room door was propped open when we arrived. The hood fan and a/c were on full blast and the fridge door and window were open. It smelled awful. I think that someone urinated all over the carpet and that something must have been rotting in the fridge. It smelled like fish sticks and urine. We were told they used a sanitizing spray and that’s why the room door was propped open. When we complained, we were told they were full and that we could not be moved to a different room. The front desk person came and sprayed a scented spray on the carpet that only masked the smell of urine briefly. It was room 308. The smell of that room was absolutely disgusting and we were out of there as fast as we could this morning.

I booked this hotel because it was so close to the Canadian border. It didn't realize it was under some remodeling and provided swimming lessons. In order to keep the staff employed during Covid, this hotel provides swimming lessons to the community during pool hours. So to our surprise on the first night when we went to use the pool and found it to have several children in it. The pool area was loud making it hard to relax in the hot tub. We understand why, we just wish we were told ahead of time. The lobby and dining area are freshly remodeled. The rooms could use a makeover. A small free breakfast is provided, it's free, it's simple and does the trick. The staff here was very friendly. Sav the onsite manager was very understanding of my needs and where I was coming from. He handled my concerns about the remodeling and swimming lessons professionally and didn't give me the brush off. I appreciate his honesty about why they provide swimming lessons.

We are BW frequent guests in the highest member category and were staying here on points. At check-in, the front desk clerk said he would have to charge a $150 deposit. I refused and offered to cancel our reservation and go elsewhere. This was a simple, somewhat outdated motel with no restaurant or amenities and I saw no reason for a deposit. The clerk explained that some of their guests damaged their rooms. I assured him that would not happen with two senior citizens with a long track-record with Best Western. He called his manager, Mr. Sav Singh, who apparently refused to waive the deposit. Next the clerk suggested that I give him $150 in cash which he would return the next morning at checkout. Again I refused. This argument went on for quite some time and I told him it was getting late and we needed to go elsewhere. He finally relented and we got into our room which was clean and serviceable but very old looking with lamp electrical outlets and room fridge quite worn out. The clerk had kept insisting that he had to collect a deposit because it was the policy at their property. Afterwards, I went back to their website because I didn't know how I had missed that. The policy posted on the website states, "Pet Policy: Pets allowed with restrictions, $20 per day with $150 refundable deposit (due at check-in)." As we had no pet, it was completely out of line for the clerk or the manager to demand a deposit from us. After staying at Best Westerns often for the past 20+ years, we can say this was the most unpleasant of all!

Hello Thank you for staying at the Best Western and we greatly appreciate your business with us, Please kindly be advised that the Deposit is our policy and that is totally refundable at check out. All big brands do required the deposit, at every hotel when you check in and they asked for your credit card that what it is for. I apologies for any inconvenience but deposit is the part of the check in requirement. Best Regards Sav
