This is my 2nd time staying here for the same work conference, 2 years later. I can’t say enough about the staff (Amanda and Jay) who treated us amazing from the time we got there , to having dinner and drinks, to breakfast the next day. Also during our dinner both owners checked on us to make sure we were happy with our room, food, drinks and to make sure we knew who to call if we needed anything. The food was amazing (dinner at the bar and breakfast and the cafe) and the prices for food and drinks were awesome. We had so much fun with the free line dancing lesson. All the locals were so welcoming, friendly and fun! The rooms are so neat and antique! It’s not for everyone’s taste and a little loud plumbing but my coworker and I loved it and would love to come again soon!! It’s located right downtown so you can walk around to all the little shops (also amazingly friendly staff).

What a great place to stay! The building is 118 years old, up to code and well maintained while preserving the 'old west' feel. Very comfortable, great atmosphere and wonderful people. Michelle, the owner, took us on a tour herself and was very personable and friendly. Definitely making this a go-to stop when we just want to get out of the house.

Rockyview is a quaint historical hotel with small rooms and thin walls, as you would expect. I should have done my homework and seen there is a bar right underneath the rooms, and on a Saturday night, it was noisy. But, as a spot between Calgary and Banff, it was comfortable and the staff very helpful and pleasant. They were willing to accommodate a late evening arrival. The room was clean and had the basics. There is a restaurant on-site, and the hotel is in a nice walking area.

My sister and I went here for lunch after shopping in Cochrane. We usually go to the excellent Greek restaurant in town round the corner, but didn’t feel like a big meal.

I had the clubhouse sandwich which was barely edible with dried up brown turkey and didn’t finish it. Even the fries were bad and tasted like the oil had been used over and over again. She had the fish tacos and couldn’t eat any of it it tasted so bad. I don’t know what they use on the bread on the sandwiches, but it isn’t butter. Some awful, cheap margarine.

The waiter gave us good service, but when it came time for the bill after she complained about her tacos and mentioned she has never had a fish tacos like that before, (and she eats a lot of fish tacos and only had three bites of one) he didn’t take it off the bill and offered a piece of cake on the house. Needless to say, we didn’t take the cake and couldn’t wait to get out of there. Never going back. Blachhh

Great staff great rooms. This is an old hotel and is charming. Shows a lot of the history of the local area. Make sure you eat at the restaurant, it is very tasty. Located in downtown Cochrane and a great place to walk and to explore the local town.

Great place ! Between the Bar and the staff this has been our best stop so far this trip. Wife enjoyed line dancing lessons while I enjoyed the atmosphere. We played pool and were treated like family from out of town, family that you like. Shawn, Christian and the rest of the staff are great. Our room was compfy and clean. We will be telling our friends to stay here when they come through.

If you are looking for a Super 8, this is not it. It's nostalgic, well set up, and something different from an everyday hotel. True to its era, the rooms are small, but that is part of the charm. We were impressed with the attention to detail and how very clean it was. Thanks for the out of the ordinary treat!

If you are looking for a great reasonably priced place to stay near Calgary the Rockyview Hotel in Cochrane is a great choice. Rememb er this is a historic building so most of the rooms have shared bathrooms.

From the minute you walk into the old historic lobby you can tell this is a building that the owners care for and are keeping up. The room we had was not overly large but had a microwave, TV wash basin and super comfortable bed. It was immaculately clean with new bed linens. I was very impressed with the quality of the towels- something I look for in all hotels.

The bathrooms were spotless and cleaned a couple of times during the day and evening. As in Europe I do not find it a big deal to walk a few steps for a shower or to use the toilet!

We did not eat at the restaurant but was told the food is great. We did have a drink in the bar and found the staff very friendly and accommodating.

If you are looking for a good nights sleep I recommend this place and it will not break the bank!

We stayed here hoping for an authentic experience and aside from the unique exterior of the building we were disappointed. The very tiny check in lobby smells of stale cigarette smoke. They had lost our booking despite phone calls directly with the hotel so took some time to figure things out. When we were eventually shown our two rooms we were a little concerned. One of the rooms had no door on the bathroom and the rooms were quite small. They were clean, although one of them had no toilet paper.

This is without a doubt the noisiest hotel of all time. The pub/restaurant downstairs is quite noisy as were the other guests who were in the hotel. We were woken up at least three times throughout the night by people shouting loudly. The hotel is also right on the railway tracks so that adds even more noise. The bed we stayed in was very soft and the frame very creaky so every time one of us moved the other person woke up.

There is nothing luxurious about this hotel but if you want something unique and don't mind the lack of sleep then it's okay.
