Detailed Reviews
An interesting place to visit. Enjoyed seeing the mill work and hearing about it's history. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds. Displays in the buildings were interesting to look at. We arrived after 3 so the cafe was closed.

Overall we would definitely return to tent at The Grist Mill but we'd offer these pros and cons to friends who were thinking of camping there:
PROS:
-nearly all the sights are close to a nice babbling creek (not suitable for swimming but a good place to cool off your feet)
-inexpensive: $15/night with no power or water ... but there is a faucet and 120V outlets available at nearly every site
-really close to downtown Keremeos (4 min drive)
-in the heart of the excellent Similkameen wine country. A 15 minute walk to three wineries and maximum 15 minute drive to 10 and counting. We highly recommend Orofino (beautiful back picnic area!), Vanessa, Seven Stones (excellent view from the back deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine!), and Clos du Soleil.
-right beside The Grist Mill & Gardens historic centre - make sure to take a tour!
-quiet guests ... at least when we were there
-reservations accepted but ... (see below)
CONS:
-no showers
-it doesn't appear that the campground is really given much overall attention by the current management so staff is friendly and polite but it appears they are not so well trained or given direction so ...
-bathrooms are cleaned occasionally
-the three stalls in the women's restroom had just one stall working over a long weekend
-their reservation system is not well organized. You'll get a spot but if you want a particular spot they may say it's reserved but we experienced otherwise. It sounds like an easy thing to fix but other campers say this disorganization has been going on for years.
-the road is right next door so while not really busy the occasional vehicle is noticed
-a rock band was rehearsing at a home across the street and we heard it clearly. Let's hope this isn't a regular weekend thing.

My partner and I blew into town and had limited options of places to stay for the night with no reservations. We came across this campground and although they were having a wedding reception in the back yard, they accommodated us with a camp spot beyond the parking lot. It was directly in front of a cute shallow creek, running water, picnic table and a plug in. This campground does not have showers but there are toilets nearby. Overall, we enjoyed it!
