I was there this past weekend for a wedding. The cabins were beautiful and appeared to be well taken care of. There were a couple of downfalls that made me decide on the overall rating of the Folk Tree Lodge: 1) I'm very allergic to cats and noticed three of them were roaming the property. My sinuses were acting up...

Hello, thank you for the review and making us aware of these issues. 1) I am sorry to hear about your allergies in the Deer house. The cats have never once entered the cabins even for a brief moment in the two years that I have been managing the property. I do recall that we recently had a special guide...

Recently visited Calgary to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary and revisit the Stampede. Accommodating our group of 16 with ages ranging from 18mths to 80 years was not an easy task. But the Folk Tree folks managed it! From their "welcome" book to a bocci ball game to easy nature walks around the property, we we felt pampered and...

Loved the peacefulness and quietness! Perfect place for a retreat of any kind! Lots of room for groups and a separate suite if you want to go just as a couple. Rooms were beautifully decorated to match the style of the buildings and the beauty outside. Little Elbow falls were close and beautiful! A great place to go and enjoy...

Several members of our family gathered for a quiet retreat weekend at this wonderful calming facility. Besides being very clean, and having exceptionally helpful and attentive staff, I was especially delighted to see their respect for, and care of, the environment. I too asked about the toilet paper in the container, and after hearing their explanation, learned that it is...

We stayed at the Folk Tree Deer lodge for a family retreat. The hospitality was amazing and the facilities were beautiful. The lodge was very large and had multiple commonplaces to gather. There was even an extra large sunny gym like room in which we were able to practice yoga. It was a great way to connect with each other...

I was there for a ladies retreat weekend and albeit the grounds are very nice and the cabins are great, I was disgusted to read that I had to put the used toilet paper in a garbage beside the toilet, regardless of what I did in there. I find that quite disgusting and unclean!!! Plus, we had to search the...

This is an excellent lodge for a family retreat. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, ample space to gather all together and also space to get away on your own to refresh. There is a young couple on-site managing the day-to-day operations who were helpful but not at all invasive. We were left to our own devices for...

We stayed at Folk Tree Lodge to celebrate a birthday with friends and family. Both the upstairs of the main lodge, and the one bedroom apartment downstairs were ours for the weekend. The kitchen had everything we could need, and the open dining/cooking area is where we seems to congregate as the weather did not co-operate for some of our...

Natural log lhand-built construction, excellent service, wonderful ambiance. I stayed six days at Folk Tree Lodge, immediately after the new management team took over. I know the Bragg Creek area very well but had never heard of this beautiful property. The grounds are immaculate and offer lots of hiking trails, a big campfire circle and plenty of area for quiet...

We booked the upper beaver house for a girl's weekend and had a wonderful time. Paola, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly. The lodge is fully equipped with all of the kitchen supplies you will need to host any group. The lodge was absolutely beautiful and the surroundings are very peaceful. We had the bad luck of booking the...

“Big Beaver House is perfect for a large group. All 16 of us spent most of our time in that unit (although we slept in three units) and didn't feel we were tripping over each other. The only thing we had trouble with was getting hot water in the shower - we had to turn up the hot water heater. It would have been nice to have an indoor fireplace (I think one of the other cabins does but ours didn't), but the outdoor firepit was great and there was plenty of wood.”

“The Deer lodge is cozy though dark in comparison to Beaver Lodge (where we might stay next time). All rooms are equally comfy and beautifully decorated. Especially loved the individual Ikea reading lamps and the cozy little upstairs mandala room. Kids would love this too. Great place for a family reunion.”
