Hopefully not all the rooms in the lodge are like room 22. My husband and I recently booked a stay in the lodge, looking at the photos online I had high hopes. We were given room 22. Ground entrance room with an ocean glimpse off of the deck. We knew there was only one room in the lodge that didn't have a jacuzzi, and room 22 was that one. I thought maybe they'd make up for it by having something nicer than the other rooms but they didn't. The room didn't even have a picture on the wall. Literally not one wall hanging of any kind. We stared at one giant white wall. The bathroom didn't have hooks to hang your towels, and if you wanted to put your face cloth anywhere they drilled a screw into the grout of the shower for you to use. They have self pumping shampoo, conditioner, and body soap which is fine. But the conditioner was clogged so you had to take the lid off of container and scoop it out with your hands which made an awful mess. If someone is staying in the room above you, be prepared to hear everything, even them turning on their water. We paid for a cleaning fee, but they have instructions for you to strip your own bedding and put it in the bin along with your towels to help out Housekeeping. Why would I strip the bed if I'm paying a fee to have it done?! Lighting in the parking lot is very poor...actually there just isnt lighting at all so prepare to use a flashlight if you happen to come in after dark. Hard to believe we'd ever come here again. I hope the cabins are nothing like this as they are building new ones on site.…
We rented 3 Rainforest 2 bedroom cabins - Starboard side for our whole family and it was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the cabins are very clean and comfortable. The best beds! Sunsets are beautiful and we did lots of kayaking in the bay area. The kids loved to see the little crabs and sea anemones between the rocks. We will definitely visit again.
Stayed Rainforest 2 Bedroom Cabin - Starboard Side July 10th to July 13th 2022 We originally planed to stay in Tofino however accommodations were very limited at time of booking. We also found hotels to be a little pricier in Tofino. We decided to explore The Cabins at Terrace Beach - Ucluelet. Absolutely no regrets ! The cabin was clean, well equipped and beds were super comfortable. I did not see any advantage to starboard or portside cabins. The sofa bed is ok for children but I would hesitate if two adults had to sleep on it. Both bedrooms are quite large. There is a fan in the upper bedroom. The dryer did not work as well as we would have liked but this was not a major issue. It was very slow to dry. You are within walking distance to the Pacific Trail which is an amazing hike. The Cabins are located within a 5 minutes drive of a coop store where you can purchase just about anything. We got some firewood and made fires on the beach and roasted marshmallows. The beach is a short walk from your cabin. I was concerned about the self serve check inn process. It was flawless and easy. Do not let this stress you out as it did me! LOL Our toaster broke on the second day. I called the number they gave us and we had a new toaster delivered to our door within minutes. Very impressed! Help is just a phone call away. We had no issues with noise. The Cabins are really easy to find! We explored Tofino and all the beaches in the area from Ucluelet. It's a very reasonable drive to Tofino. We did find that dinning choices were a little limited in Ucluelet. Some restaurants were closed on the days we were there. We did picnic at some of the beaches in the area. They do ask you to strip the beds and place all towels in a bin at the end of your stay. They also request that you start the dishwasher before leaving. I guess it keeps the cost down but I would have preferred not having to do any of this. Holidays for me are about not doing the stuff I would do at home. However it was not a big deal. We enjoyed ourselves and would not hesitate to recommend The Cabins at Terrace Beach. Thank You !…
We rented the nest for 3 nights and couldnt have made a better choice . Lovely views and very well laid out . You can walk to the lighthouse loop trail and is a short drive to the wild pacific trail . We had a problem with one of the lights and the dryer start knob which were adressed immediately . Water pressure in both bathrooms was great . The only thing i found was a bit much was that they ask you to strip the beds and put in totes the day you are leaving . For someone paying 500 dollars per night i find that request unacceptable .
We were expecting this travel for 2 years, postponed twice due to covid as borders closed ( we are coming from France) and unfortunately we are disappointed by the upper canopy choice. The upper canopy description does not fit to reality, the view is not the one expected. The view from the balcony, the living room and the main bed room is not on Forrest but on the main building and as the main building is under refurbishment so on materials. We have also to mention that all the accommodations we've booked for 2020 and 2021 had accepted to refund the payment due to covid except the cabins.
This is actually my second time staying with Terrace Cabins, but first time writing a review. The first time I stayed in a Portside Cabin and it was great (~4 years ago). This time we stayed in a 1 Bedroom Sabbatical, so it was on the upper level. It was FANTASTIC! We loved having a fully functional kitchen (including a dishwasher), plus a jacuzzi big enough for 2 and enough storage space for our stuff. Their cleaning products are from a place in Ucluelet called The Den, a sustainable/refill store, and they are all natural and biodegradable. Definitely read their guest agreements, check-in, check-out policies prior to booking! We did and we did not have a single problem with their system! They are the friendliest staff both in person, via email and over the phone. Don't be afraid to ask them questions!…
Three nights in the “ Forest Suite”. Our cabin was very clean, functional, and did match the website description. But “no view” actually means no natural light as it was tucked deep under a veranda and faced a bank (on the other side of a public stairway). We could not see any sky from our cabin. The walls were stark white and pictureless. Was quite disappointing and not cosy at all. I don’t believe the other tenants were abnormally noisy, but we could clearly hear their footsteps and voices. I cannot recommend this suite.
The place was filthy. I was cleaning up a spill and the cloth came up black! Awful. Our socks were black after the first evening so ended up wearing our shoes. Then we had to pull our own linens off the bed. I expect this in certain accommodations but not when I’m spending $250 a night not to mention this didn’t even free up time for the housekeepers to wash the floors. What else didn’t they clean?! The “stress free” check in and check out is just an excuse to cut costs on staffing. Makes it extremely unwelcoming and cold environment for your guests.
After a long drive from Victoria there was no welcome, in fact not a staff member on site and it was only 4 pm, just a key in an envelope left beside the door, which is both unsafe and unwelcoming. Then I got to the unit using a very unhelpful map and it had been left unlocked. Again very unsafe and I had to check out the whole unit to make sure no one was inside ready to attack a single female in the middle of the woods in a remote cabin. The wrong wifi access code was supplied which was extremely bad as I was here for work I had to troubleshoot that issue since there was no staff to ask. The cabins are very noisy due to lack of insulation or something because you heard everything your neighbors were doing. Be aware and make sure you read the anti- cancellation policy as you can be stuck with a huge bill especially if traveling for business when plans can change last minute. I would not recommend this destination. There are many options available in both Tofino and Ucluelet for the price they charge at The Cabins.…
My group of 6 enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Treasure Cabin. The 3br unit was spacious and clean. One of the sinks was blocked. I messaged the cabin staff to check it out. They promptly resolved the issue. One of the bathrooms has a 2 person shower , another one has a steam shower with heated floor. I thoroughly enjoyed the steam shower after a day of long hike. On the day of checking out, we had to undo all the bedding including the duvet and put them into laundry bins. We happily complied, as it reassured us that everything we used was previously washed and clean. This is our first trip in 18 months. We felt safe staying at the Cabin.
