Firstly, Marilyn is an amazing host and her property is top notch

She kindly let us stay just X2 nights when there was a X3 night minimum + they are dog friendly. Our dog Beans, had the best time too

Cabin 1 was perfect for our short mental health break and it offered a relief from all that is going on at present.

What better way to start the day, then watching the eagles and seals from your bed or ending the day in the outdoor jacuzzi starring at the stars

Yes, they are located beside Neptune Ice and there is a bit of noise, but if you are from a busy locale, then this should be no issue. We did not have any issue, so please take that in mind reading the previous review

Amazing location, everything from restaurants to shops are less than a 10 - 15 minute walk at most

We look forward to staying again and will check out their other accommodation offerings

We loved this place and would happily have stayed longer. The Anchors Inn website adequately and accurately describes the property. The small, neat and tidy cabin has a spectacular harbour view from the windows and especially from the totally private deck. Marine life abounds and you can watch a variety of it from the cabin. Deer roam the property.
The kitchen area is well equipped for minimalist cooking and there is a 2 burner, clean, easy to use BBQ. We prepared most of our own meals without a problem. There are good sources for local, fresh and frozen seafood and the Co-op grocery has quality meat products and produce. The few meals we had out were excellent and the Cedar Grill was a standout. The locals are friendly. So are the tourists.
The west coast of Vancouver Island is dynamic. We enjoyed all major trails, at least once. Ocean views are spectacular. The area has world class, well maintained walking trails, both inside and outside of the Pacific Rim Park.
The weather was dry and warm for our mid October, week long stay. That is unusual for the area. There is a saying: "There is no bad weather, just wrong clothing". We traveled with a lot of clothing we did not use so it remained in the car. There is not room for many extras in the cabin. Our time was mostly spent outside.
Our whole experience was perfect for us.

This cozy little cabin was the perfect size for the two of us for a couple of nights. There are some really thoughtful touches here, including the guides and information laid out for guests, and Marilyn was very easy to get a hold of and gave us our privacy at the same time. Yes, there's an ice factory nearby, but we didn't find the noise terribly intrusive, and we definitely reaped the rewards by seeing all the wildlife that hang around it! We saw more species just sitting on the balcony than we did on the trails nearby. It's close to shops and restaurants, minutes' drive from so many amazing trails, and incredibly reasonably priced. We will definitely be back, and we definitely recommend it to others!

Accessibility stuff: you can't maneuver a wheelchair around that tiny cabin (the suite may be different), but it's otherwise very easy to move around and navigate for other disabled folks. It's a steep road down to the cabin, so if you have bad knees like me, just plan on driving in and out of the property. The owners have clearly made an effort to provide good footing around the property itself, which is great given how wet it can get in Ucluelet. We had a blissful time here, and so will you!

Don't expect you are in remote location by the ocean. Near cabin 1 is compressor working 24/7 as fishermen boats loaded with products empty boats in 25 meters from your deck. Refrigerator car 50 tons entering to pick up the products. There are Fish store in town but selling farmed fish and wild precious seafood goes to Vancouver and expensive restaurants.
Not returning, go to Black Rock or Middle beach as usually.

So many disappointing things about this place.
Food: Breakfast was not served everyday - they left a dozen eggs, 6 English muffins and a container of juice. Which is OK I suppose... but the one frying pan was stainless steel (not non stick) so it was impossible to fry an egg. With no scrubby it was also impossible to wash the crappy pan.
Sleeping: There was no duvet as mentioned in the description but rather, a cheap lightweight comforter with sheets that were slightly pilled. The bed is so soft and uncomfortable, we could feel and hear the springs every time we moved. The terrible noise of rain pelting on the tin roof was not enjoyable at all.
Location: as other reviewers mention is next door to Neptune factory so we were expecting the white noise. What we weren't expecting was the constant horn honking and engine sounds from the forklift working until 11pm. The location is suitable to be able to walk into town.
Bathroom: plenty of hot water. But no cold water in the shower. The shower was scalding hot and was impossible to stand under to properly bathe. Zero storage for personal items, not even a place to put a makeup bag or travel toiletry bag.
We will not be returning or recommending this venue...

What you see on the website is what you get. My advice, if your going during storm season then book the 1 bedroom unit for some space. It was raining so heavy we could not go outside for a couple of days. There is no veranda so you can’t even leave the door open. The only place to sit is on the bed or on the cushion of the tiny dining corner. The pictures are spot on. You can’t swing a cat. There is nowhere to hang anything up. The shower was either hot or scolding no in between. You needed to run the hot water in the shower to get hot water in the kitchen. Maybe a bit of a shield on the cooker might help as well because if your sitting against the window you get splattered when you cook as does the cushions on the seat. The initial smell when you open the door is the smell of cedar but you get used to it.
Great spot on the water watching the seals but be warned, the forklift next door runs till about 11pm. Close to town which is good. For a summer stay it would be great. You can sit outside, enjoy the sun and use the hot tub. On-site parking as well.

I rented Cabin 1, and my son, daughter in law and 3 year old grandson were in the suite. The location was great for access to hiking, biking, and walk to shops, groceries, restaurants. The view over the harbour was nice..especially sunrise, and the fresh air throughout the days and nights was very pleasant. I would go back again!

It’s so refreshing, after you’ve spent time reading reviews and pouring over photos to try and choose an accommodation from afar, that when you arrive the experience is exactly as described and shown.

Marilyn was a gracious host but once we were checked in, left us to it (although made it clear if we needed anything that she was available. We didn’t need to get in touch though as everything worked so well.)

We stayed in the suite which was warm, clean and spacious. We felt comfortable as soon as we stepped through the door. Nice views from the deck, very quiet and yet close to the all the amenities of Ucluelet. It would have been wonderful to stay longer but if (when) we return, Anchors Inn is where I’d choose to stay.

This is truly one of the nicest cabins we have had the pleasure of staying in. The cabins are quaint, clean, pet friendly, beautiful deck that we stayed out on most of our stay with the most incredible view and a hot tub. We saw all sorts of critters. Deer right in front of the cabin. We were entertained by seals. Had an awesome view of a couple eagles. It can't get better than that. We did a whale watch tour and saw our cabin from the boat. Wow! We are prairie folks and being near an ocean is a treat beyond measure. Our host Marilyn was a gem. Hubby forgot his beloved Rider ball camp (for those from Saskatchewan you can certainly relate). She kindly mailed it back. Hubby was all smiles. Thank you Marilyn!

We stayed in the suite as we found it on VRBO and didn't know about the cabins. It was perfect for us. Roomy, well supplied, clean, comfortable, quiet. Nice to have the separate bedroom if one of you likes to stay up late and the other doesn't! Marilyn communicated clearly and promptly, was available if we had any questions or issues (though we didn't; everything was fine). Price is very reasonable. A perfect place to stay while exploring the Pacific Rim area!
