Great place to camp! My 9 year old son and I stayed here for 3 nights this month. My son took a surf lesson with Brandon (or Branden?) who was awesome with him and made it a great experience. We kept the surf board after the lesson and when we went to use it again I noticed a seam had split on the board so we didn’t use it again. I was concerned I’d get nailed for damage to a rental (which I was prepared to pay) but when I took it back and explained that the only time it got used was during the lesson, the owner not only didn’t charge us for the damage but also gave me a refund for that days rental because he could tell the damage wasn’t a result of abuse by us. I couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. We liked it there so much I tried to extend our stay but unfortunately they were all booked up, which is understandable. We will definitely come back again next summer. Great grounds, great staff and top notch service. By far the best place we stayed on our 12 day tour of the island. Thanks for making it a great stay!

Our first ever RV holiday, travelling over from England. Stayed here 3 nights, great location between Tofino where we went whale and bear watching and also to visit beaches and Ucluelet where we had a lovely coastal walk. The campground is well set out amid the amazing trees with beautiful flowers near the washrooms/reception where we saw humming birds (a first for us!) We were by the single Solo toilet which is still a talking point by our Star Wars fan daughter! Washrooms clean and not a problem to have a pay machine as the water is hot straight away, although we had a shower in the RV we all used the site washrooms as there was more room! WiFi reception a little difficult, had to by by reception but daughter couldn't always get a signal for her important task of identifying all the new species we saw every day!!! We're not surfers but loved the quirkiness of the place and the peace and quiet. Definitely want to come back here one day....

Camped here for a couple nights in early September - perfectly located midway between Tofino and Ucluet to take full advantage of the coast and beaches up either way. About 5 min from closest surf break. The place is well thought out, both layout wise and the services and amenities they have. Great sauna and hot tub, well appointed surf and rental shop etc. The crowd is slightly younger surf crowd, but definitely a wide range of all types - not really a party scene when I was there, though I suspect it could be. Definitely will stay again on next trip!

Surf Junction Campground is the perfect place to base yourself for surfing Vancouver Island's west coast beaches. The sites are large and treed. The campground amenities include treehouse toilets, a beautiful cedar picnic shelter, a lily padded pond that you can see from the hot tub, and a sauna to warm you up after immersion in the Pacific. Surf Junction rents all the gear you need at competitive prices. Their family package gave us two surfboards and two body boards with four wetsuits, perfect for a combo of activities. Friendly/helpful staff provide good customer service. Overflowing toilets are cleaned quickly. You can recycle everything except food waste. And their espresso machine provides delicious coffee drinks -- everything you can ask for!

Loved this place. We did a cross-Canada drive and this was our last campground before our flight back East. We stayed at Surf Junction two nights and did the surf lesson on the day after our first night there. We felt welcome at the check-in right away, drove to our back lot campsite and had a lovely evening by the fire in anticipation of our surf lesson the next day (the firewood was kiln-dried - VERY appreciated as some sites give you wet wood - and they even offered ya their axe if we wanted to chop it up into smaller bits). The snack shack was well stocked! Connor (from Australia so you know he’s legit) was our surf instructor and even though we paid for the group rate and were open to sharing the lesson with others, it was a Thursday and it ended up being just the 2 of us and him - which was pretty sweet as we got personalized, focused instruction. Connor was a great teacher - he was friendly, kind, patient and explained everything thoroughly. Both of us got up on waves pretty quickly and had a great time exhausting ourselves as we tried over and over, getting progressively better with ongoing feedback and genuine positive encouragement from Connor. Let’s just say many high-fives were had. LOVED surfing - huge bucket list check! Got to enjoy the camp site’s hot tub and sauna after the lesson which was very welcome on our sore (but happy) bodies. Our camp site was clean and nicely carved out- and we appreciated the care the site owners took in staggering the sites for privacy. Altogether a really comfy stay and we plan to go back in the future to see how the new(ish) campsite community has progressed! Thanks a lot for the experience, folks!!!
