This hotel is located on the harbour side of Uclulet and had nice views from the lounge window. There is a terrace with a hot tub. The hot tub didn’t work and the repairman was required to fix it. It’s also quite old and doesn’t drain properly. The hotel itself looks reasonably good and was in good decorative order throughout. More like condos than hotel rooms - full kitchen and two bathrooms in our two bed apartment. Parking is tricky - not enough space when the place is full. Room cleaning is on request rather then daily. TV is small by today’s standards. Underfloor heating was nice and there was a gas fire too. No on site breakfast facility so buy ahead and make your own. There is a restaurant on site - Soem, specialising in Asian food, but it was closed shortly after we arrived for annual holiday, which the hotel might have thought to tell us. There are very few good places to eat in Uclulet and with Soem closed things we’re tricky. There is no pool, or gym, or bike hire, just the rooms. The on-site spa which is privately run is magnificent. The quality is excellent and would recommend a massage there. Would suggest no more than a few days in Uclulet though - unless you’re a surfer there’s not much to do. The kayak tour is good and there are a couple of nice walks but that’s about it. Better to make it part of a touring holiday than spend a week there. Beach Side Resort (Currents) is a better hotel on the other side of Uclulet. It has an in house bar and restaurant.

The place is beautiful and the view amazing. Great service from the reception. Room was clean and you find all what you need in the suite. We sadly had trouble with the bath on the deck but the hotel made everything good. Definitely a nice hotel to stay in Ucluelet.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Deluxe 2 Bdrm King Suite with Outdoor tub and were very happy with our choice. I would rate the room itself as average, but the ocean view and jetted tub on the patio as excellent, for an overall rating of very good. The kitchen, dining room and living room were open concept with a beautiful view of the ocean. There was a small patio with a 2-person jetted tub overlooking the ocean - we loved that you could fill the tub up with clean water, no chlorine. The suite had simple and inexpensive furniture, nothing fancy, but tasteful. We had requested, but did not get, a pets-free room, so our suite had a faint wet-dog smell, which I was not thrilled about. The Water’s Edge should change the booking system so that you can reserve a either a pets-ok, or pet-free room. One room had a king bed, and the other a queen. Both mattresses had a foam pad on top - again, not luxury, but they were adequate. As others have mentioned, there are no screens on the windows, which was irritating since a good airing out would have helped. The walk to the heart of the main strip of restaurants in Ucluelet was about 15 mins. The various entry points to the Wild Pacific Trail and the restaurants in Ucluelet are quite spread out so it’s good to have a car no matter where you stay. For a 2-bedroom with ocean view with a outdoor jetted tub, this suite was good value compared to other comparable accommodations in the area. I would recommend Water’s Edge so long as you are not looking for high end. PS - you may want to bring your own hairdryer as the one in the suite is a wall plug-in.

There aren't too many hotels in Ucluelet so while this place was a bit pricey, it was well worth it. The suites are very comfortable and have AMAZING views. I was also very impressed with the staff, and how everything is so thought out - they communicate right away that we don't need to check out at the desk, but just return the keys in the box, and they provide useful information for everything within the room. They're very TINY details, but it just shows that they've put extra thought into communicating these things to guests, which goes a long way.
