We booked this hotel because it said the owner's had remodeled it. If they did it was in a different era and not a good one. It was actually scary. Our room looked nothing like the pictures shown on their website. See photo.
Dirty expensive hole in the wall, small bag of ice $3.00. can anyone say gouge will not be staying here again. On our trip stayed in five other hotels all cost less were way cleaner all have a ice machine or gave a small bag. After a long bay on the road this hotel was a let down.
Might want to check room out before staying due to the smell. We opened the window and it did help. Other room had no smell and was fine. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Great price. Restaurant on site which is nice. Good food reasonably priced. No wheelchair accessible rooms but we were able to get wheelchair through the door. Very small bathroom , no wheelchair access but one room had a grab bar at least to use.
We stayed here in July 2022. The room was great, and everyone at the hotel was pleasant and helpful. We accidently left some items behind in the room. The hotel staff tracked down the items and worked with us to get them sent back to us. We are so appreciative and would definitely stay here again!
Its been over 4 yrs and there been a lot of up dates done The room was in great very clean as was the bathroom a plus to this was breakfast was just down the hall You just have to remember your in the far north and this place is place to stay
My two favorite motels were either booked or closed for the season so I checked in here. I was a bit apprehensive because of the negative reviews that I saw. The room was clean and bathroom spotless. I had trouble with the TV but the desk clerk came up and got it going. The rugs going up the stairs needed cleaning but who sleeps on the stair rugs. Also, being a frontier type town, one should expect this occasionally. The coffee pot was a new type and made excellent coffee. Rates were high but this is the Yukon. I will stay here again.
This hotel is disgusting, I do not recommend staying. If my husband and I were not too tired to keep driving we would have skipped this hotel driving straight through. The beds were sagging in the middle, cigarette burns on the lamps, stains and holes in carpeting and walls. The whole place reeks of cigarette smoke. We were so uncomfortable we left in the middle of the night after just a few hours sleep.
Do not stay here. Price gouging practices are absolutely disgusting. Room smelled like pee, ripped screens, no A/C and they decided to charge us for two nights when we stayed one. Checked in the 3rd left the fourth and charged $350. According to the reviews they change their prices pretty often. This room is not worth $175 it’s worth $50 maximum. And it’s a shame bc if they cleaned better and updated some things with the crazy amounts of money they make and lowered the price I’m sure they’d make more since they have a restaurant, bar and convenience store. Oh and you get 1 gig of WiFi for your whole stay which is ridiculous for the price.
We had to change rooms three times in one day including once at 9pm with flash lights because the break tripped and they couldn't get it to turn back on. This might be OK if it was half the price but for what they are charging there are much nicer options in town.
Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, fridge, coffeemaker, very good breakfast. What to expect more?... Aaaa and a very nice service desk. Ok - poor internet. But Watson Lake is „middle...” or the beginning of Big and Lovely Nowhere. The Place to be. Larger then Life.
