Patti and Mike were wonderful hosts--the kind that are there when you need them and magically appear to give you the information you need to discover great destinations in the Picton area. Patti's breakfast's are wonderful,( yum) and the ever ready coffee if you need it early in the morning was super. What an excellent location--walking distance from the downtown core and central to the area. Loved the privacy of the summer kitchen and nice backyard, with the option of a swim in their pool. Couldn't ask for anything more. Pristine. Thanks so much--you make us want to return!

Patty & mike are so kind and so happy.
their home is very great and fully equiped (swimming-pool, dishwasher, AC, ...). They give you everything you need.
Patty is a very good cooker and the breakfast is so delicious with homemade pear pancake, mushroom fritata, scones, cramberry cake, plum & strawberry jam also bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereals, coffee,...
The room (suite #1 for us) was gorgeous, so cute and quiet with a great bathroom and a comfortable king size bed...
We sincerely thank them and we warmly recommend them.

Patti & Mike's B&B is little oasis located just walking distance to Picton's main street with gourmet restaurants and chic boutique stores. It is a very intimate setting with two beautifully furnished rooms: King & Queen with ample rooms to unwind and read on cushy sofa. This is perfect for a family of four or two couples like my husband & I and our best couple friends. We were totally spoiled by Patti's fresh baked goods: muffins and lemon ricotta pancake topped with fresh strawberries and farmer's sausages and fresh baked Irish soda bread...WOW! The place is immaculate from top to bottom, inside and out. Awesome country chic decor with a bright and the cleanest kitchen/dining and walkout deck to the pool and a beautiful back garden. We thoroughly enjoyed their warm hospitality and we are planning to make this an annual thing like our other couple friends who has been going there year after year and now we know why.

Thank you Patti & Mike, 'Poppy & Oliver' for giving us a “home away from home’ weekend

My husband and I stayed at this Bed and Breakfast this past weekend.

What a phenomenal weekend we had due in large part to our hosts Patti and Michael and their amazingly beautiful and welcoming property!

Patti greeted us at the door and proceeded to help us settle into our immaculate, spacious, impeccably clean, superbly decorated King Suite.

This B and B is located in a beautifully restored circa 1870 Loyalist Brick heritage home but the B and B's two suites are located in a newer, adjacent but totally compatible carriage house, giving guests a very private and cozy living space. The bedroom suites are located upstairs (one queen and one king)and there is also a beautifully appointed kitchen and sitting area...and extra bathroom located below. The kitchen/sitting are looks out over the gazebo, beautifully manicured gardens and in-ground swimming pool. Unfortunately we could not take advantage of the pool due to the time of year.

Hosts Patty and Michael were extremely friendly and attentive. They gave us some terrific tips and wineries and other sites to visit including a map which was most helpful. We grabbed a terrific lunch at the Lake on the Mountain Brewery (another suggestion of our hosts) and had a wonderful tour of the county over the weekend.

We both slept very, very well, in our quiet, immaculate, cozy, duvet covered King size bed. Our room was bright and airy and also included a beautiful sitting area and TV as well as a separate counter with bar fridge.

Both breakfasts were out of this world. Fresh fruit, granola, honey, buttermilk biscuits to start each of our two mornings, beautifully presented with colorful and tastefully nasturtiums and fresh mint. And then there was the main course. Eggs Benedict on Day 1 and French Toast Raphael on Day 2. Beautiful and Delicious!!!

We could not have been treated better, could not have slept more soundly, could not have enjoyed our tour of Prince Edward County any more.

We have stayed at many, resorts, hotels, guest houses, inns, B and B's all around the world but Traditions is easily one of our favorite places! Such an amazing B and B experience.

We recommend this place highly and without hesitation!

Patty and Michael, we will be back.

That's a promise! :)

We were 2 couples touring Prince Edward County for the July 18/14 weekend and stayed here both nights. The bedrooms were spotless and lovely and the breakfasts truly gourmet & abundant! The layout of the house allows guests to have almost total privacy, including a summer kitchen with screened doors to the full backyard with pool and patio which we enjoyed very much. It was like renting a cottage or suite for the weekend--far exceeded expectations. Patti & Mike were most helpful and enjoyable without being intrusive or hovering at any point. Picton itself is a great central place to stay & the downtown core was an easy walk from the B & B.
We would come back for sure, can't think of anything negative and we wish all experiences could be so good : )

Looking for the perfect getaway vacation spot? My family and I love coming to Patti and Mike's B&B (Traditions Guest House). It's like a home away from home with all the comforts you could ask for. I love the pool/garden/deck, especially after a day out and about in the County. Patti makes the most delicious breakfasts. Clean, spacious and bright, with the perfect touch of country charm, this is THE place to kick back and relax! I come every summer!

My husband and I stayed over the Canada Day Weekend. The location is minutes walk to Main St in Picton. Patti and Mike are lovely hosts and make you feel at home. They also provide great recommendations of sites/restaurants in the area. We stayed in the Queen bedroom overlooking the B&B's large swimming pool in the backyard. The photos are exactly as you see them on the site - nicely decorated, clean and has a mini bar fridge in the room. Breakfast was delicious. Our fond memories of Prince Edward County will include our stay at Traditions.

Patti and Mike offer the kind of service and care I would expect from only the best B n' B in Picton.

The rooms are separated from the main home, but not too far away from the beautiful and well maintained pool and garden. The food was spectacular, generous portions and a very filling assortment of traditional fare, bacon and the mushroom frittata were to die for. I couldn't leave without the pear pancake recipe as well.

The location is also right in the heart of downtown Picton on a quiet street just behind the main street. A perfect and short walk to the shops and restaurants.

The rooms are spacious, well lit and decorated with a classic yet refined touch. The kittens that amble in the garden are cute and friendly. I felt right at home. My partner and I will onyl stay here when we are in Picton, for these reasons and more!

Patti and Mike are excellent hosts, they really do make you feel at home. It helped having an affinity with Mike's Yorkshire roots.
We stayed in Room 2 which was anything but cramped as previously mentioned. It is more like a mini apartment with a large bed, sofa, breakfast bar/work area and fridge plus plenty of drawers and a large hanging closet. We accept that Room 1 is larger but we were more than happy with Room 2. The shower room was also well appointed.

The breakfasts were a delight, it is obvious that Patti has excellent culinary skills. Patti and Mike hit just the right balance of serving breakfast, being on hand if needed, yet leaving the guests to their own converation.

There is a kitchen area for guests' use including a washer and drier. Guests can also cook their own food either in the kitchen or on the BBQ and eat on the patio overlooking the attractive garden and pool.

Patti was extremely helpful in response to e-mails prior to our stay and very informative of practical activities for both wet and dry days (we had both).

Finally, Mike recommended the Accoustic Grill where we ate both evenings.
All in all a great stay and highly recommended.
