We had a weekend away in this handsome historic home turned Inn. It has pretty, quirky decor, delicious food, and excellent service. The outdoor sauna is a great touch. Picton is a gem. Would definitely recommend.

The service was the highlight of the weekend. A special shout out to Shawn the concierge. He was beyond helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Had breakfast in the dining room and it was lovely. Dinner was delicious and presentation was great. I only have one criticism. There is very little sound proofing between floors. Might be a good idea to ensure families with small children are kept on the first floor. It was extremely loud when a little one was running back and forth early in the morning. Would not hesitate to return. Thank you so much!!! Catherine and Ted

Loved the stay! I booked this hotel based on the reviews here and I'm soooo glad. This little "boutique hotel" was so beautiful, the rooms and the shared spaces were extremely clean and comfortable. Plus the staff was amazing! When we got there, the concierge opened the door and welcomed us in. He was so friendly every time we saw him. Every staff member I bumped into always asked if we needed anything. The house is beautiful and charming. Full of history yet you can see that they also updated some areas like the back where there was a small sauna and fire pit area. There was a little tent also that I believe is used for outdoor parties. The parking lot had plenty of spaces and a small bike rack. Inside, they kept it refreshed yet with the historical charm. There were plenty of room for folks to chill outside of their own bedrooms and the seats were all comfy and relaxing. I booked a double queen that slept 4 and so we were on the main floor (room 103). It was just right with a very stylish washroom. They even had a Dyson hairdryer and heated towel rack. My daughter loved that! The room had a free Nespresso coffee machine and every night we were given some small chocolate chip cookies. They also had free Netflix and plenty of plugs to charge your devices. It is also located a bit off the main street but within a couple mins walking distance. It was nice that way because it's not as busy on the street around it and allowed for some greenery. The house also had little interesting facts about Picton and the owners and the even have books/cartoons for you to read about it. Such a cute idea! The common areas had lots of books to choose from and very new board games. They also offered little trinkets you could buy. I bought the deck of Merrill House cards but I enjoyed even looking at the stuff. They also have a shared balcony that you can sit and read while overlooking the backyard space. We didn't get the chance to try out their restaurant unfortunately but took a peak and it looked really nice. The only thing I might suggest is, if you are only 2 ppl, you might want to book rooms that are upstairs as you can sometimes hear the ppl walking. And also there's one room that has it's own balcony. I cannot express how much I loved the place and totally recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Picton.

Merrill House is spendy but worth it. We had a very comfortable stay in two rooms (I travelled with my parents). I had a terrific room with a very large balcony - which was a pleasant surprise. All of the staff from check in to check out were courteous and helpful. The breakfast in the dining room was outstanding, especially the scrambled eggs which were the best I've ever had. Overall I highly recommend the Merrill House. You will not be disappointed.

Wow wow wow. Loved every bite. Hands down the restaurant we most enjoyed during our PEC trip. Our waitress was def more on the dry side which was unfortunate but our sommelier Laura made up for it . She was FABULOUS. Lamb & Gnocchi are a MUST try. Great cocktails and wine selection. Will def be returning
