We recently spent three days jaunting around Prince Edward County (PEC) with two nights at the lovely historical Hayes Inn, Picton. As repeat clients, it is always so great to catch up with innkeepers Katie and Mike and hear about the latest happenings in the county. Clean, beautifully appointed rooms with very comfortable beds and bright modern bathrooms in each room make for a quiet and restful night. In the morning, Marzipan (the house pug-butler) graciously greets each guest as they come down to the dining room lured by the wonderful scents of breakfast prepared to meet dietary preferences with local ingredients. Breakfast is always something new and delicious sending us out on our travels with energy! This historical inn with a storied past is the perfect place to rest and rejeuvenate during your Prince Edward County visit.

We recently stayed in PEC for the long weekend and absolutely loved it! Our accommodation at Hayes Inn was lovely. It is an old, charming and beautiful colonial home that has been fully refurbished and renovated (but still has all it's charm and character!). Katie and Mike are great hosts. They are welcoming and very generous (and great cooks!). The included breakfast was a great bonus and they cook very delicious meals. Hayes Inn is located about 10 minutes from Picton, but you can easily do other areas of PEC and spend your nights at Hayes Inn. Also, Marzipan the Pug is a great addition to the space.

We had originally booked our 2-night stay for a wedding to be held at Waupoos Winery, which was postponed due to the pandemic, however we decided to keep our reservation and make a mini-vacation out of it. Mike, Katie, and Marzipan are gracious hosts who made our stay comfortable, safe, and relaxing. They were also able to provide suggestions of where to visit given some businesses had not yet reopened. The room was sparkling clean, and the bed very comfortable. The inn and bedrooms also have AC, which was a welcome reprieve from the summer heat. The breakfasts were fantastic (practically gourmet!) and the baked goods were such a nice treat. They make a point to try to provide everything from local farms and businesses, which we appreciated. We look forward to rebooking when the wedding is rescheduled!

We loved our stay at this Inn. From the moment we arrived til the moment we left, we received warm, friendly guidance on our Prince Edward County stay. The place Itself was gorgeous - a beautiful 100+ year old inn with tonnes of character and amenities. The beds were super comfy, with rich linens and the room overall felt very welcoming and charming. Breakfast was full gourmet. Fresh baking in the afternoons was a great touch. All in all - a great place for relaxing, romantic weekend or week. Thanks Mike and Katie. We will be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful two night stay at this historical Hayes Inn. Our hosts Michael & Katie were super nice, not to forget their adorable puppy Lambert. Our room was so clean and decor lovely plus they have some amazing art work painted and photographed by family members - very talented. We are vegetarian and Michael made a wonderful breakfast for us including delicious fresh fruits and cheeses. An espresso machine was in our room but also in a room set aside for guests there was made available an additional espresso machine, kettle for tea plus yummy pastries, cookies and fresh fruit should you feel for a little treat before bed (or anytime). We would definately recommend this venue if you are visiting Prince Edward County.

Neither my wife or I had stayed at a BNB before, so we weren't really sure what to expect. The location is quite isolated from the highway (401), but not hard to find. Location is near some touristy hot spots which was nice.

Katie and Mike were very accommodating, so was the unique building. The history of it is also an interesting story. K&M were able to answer any questions. They know the building and the area well. Our room (upstairs as all the rooms were) was away from the common areas. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The en-suite was nicely finished modern felling and as well met all our needs.

We were given a key for our room and a key for the front door of the building. We never felt the need to lock our door, but the option was there if we wanted.

The breakfast included was delicious. They allowed us to choose the time for breakfast. Water and snacks included is a nice touch.

Katie and Mike were always available if we needed them but at the same time we rarely noticed them, they were not infringing on our space nor did we feel like we were in theirs.

In all, our stay was 10 out of 10. Thanks Katie and Mike. We will be back some time!

Jason and Jenn.

What a wonderful setting, indoors and out, for a getaway with family or friends. Enjoy the charming character of this restored historic inn, and the welcoming attention of owners Katie and Mike. Clean, quiet, comfortable and the breakfasts are wholesome, creative and delicious. A great location in the County for walks and cycling to nearby patios, winery and cidery amidst farmland and scenic lake views.

Our plans for an anniversary event were cancelled, sadly, due to the pandemic. We decided to get away for a few days and a friend recommended Prince Edward County and specifically Hayes Inn. What a fabulous choice. It could not have been better. Mike, Katie and Marzipan were magnificent hosts. We wanted a slower paced low-key get away, and they absolutely made it happen. We went cheese exploring and actually ended up having two picnic dinners at the inn, with amazing local produce. They suggested a private beach, which was perfect for a swim totally by ourselves. We also hiked along quiet county lanes and through a beautiful bird sanctuary. Totally away from the maddening crowd. Picton was crowded but the rest of our time was perfectly calm.
I would totally recommend this beautiful country inn. They have made it a charming retreat from the real world. Many thanks to them both.

We spent 4 great days at the Hayes Inn. Our hosts Katie and Mike were so welcoming and they made our stay there perfect. They were really helpful when deciding where to explore on our bikes and they recommended restaurants and wineries to visit. The history of the Inn is fascinating and the decor is true to its roots. Our room was beautiful and comfortable and we slept so well. Breakfasts were amazing - they are such great cooks. Everything was fresh, homemade, creative and delicious. I highly recommend this Inn.

I stayed 3 days with my friend. The place is magnificent. A beautiful historic house near the nature. Interior design is contemporary. It is artistic, charming and exquisite, it respects the past history and is kept with love. Katie and Mike are wonderful hosts, very nice and talented people. Their biscuits/ loafs are out of this world. The full breakfast every morning was delicious and different each day. We could also have tea/coffee, water, fruits, pastry during the day. The place is immaculately clean, the bed is very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay tremendously.
