Detailed Reviews
Just home from a 3 night stay at this delightful gem, it is by far the most enjoyable BnB we have experienced. From the minute we arrived until our departure the hosts aimed to provide an enjoyable stay.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, quality bedding, luxurious towels & an awesome shower. We stayed ont the 2nd level & were only a few steps from an spacious outdoor deck overlooking the pool & hot tub. Had it been a little cooler weather we could have ejnjoyed a gas fire pit on the lawn.
The main level had a pleasant parlour but to be frank it was way too pleasant weather outside to spend any time indoors. There are no refrigerators int he room but there is a pantry on the main level with a generous supply of ice, tea & coffee and a wine fridge for your own refreshments
We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, the menu is varied and everything is fresh & delicious. The weather was ideal so we were able to sit outside in a cozy serene garden area enjoying the sounds of the pond waterfall, the area birds.
One evening we enjoyed a BBQ menu at the Manse provided by Chris & the other pm because we found the food so good we decided to have another pm meal at the Inn. The food was always thoroughly enjoyed, Chris is talented. For a small corking fee we could enjoy our own wine with dinner.
The Inn is located right in Picton, easy walking to some other restaurants & shopping. It is an easy drive to Wellington, Cherry Valley & Bloomfield, plus some area wineries.
Kathleen & Chris are the couple & guardians of the Inn, we would say they are pivotal in the success of this BnB. They are readily available to provide and ensure an enjoyable & pleasurable stay. Thank you to both of you for your attention to detail, your pleasant service and your fun sense of humour.

We were lucky to get a one night opening after a cancellation since the pandemic reopening resulted in the B&B being almost fully booked for the month. We had room 1 and it was very, very nice. Bed was so comfortable and the room was very well appointed. We were greeted by Chef Chris when we arrived and then the innkeeper, Kathleen, took us on a tour to acquaint us with the inn. Given the extreme heat and all of the pandemic protocols, they both did an amazing job of making us feel very comfortable and it was such an enjoyable one-night stay for us. We chose the wine-pairing at dinner and it was great and the food was fantastic! The next morning we were treated to a very satisfying dinner which included the smoked bacon that Chris had been smoking when we first arrived the day before. All good and would definitely be going back for hopefully more than a one-night stay. If you go in the summer, don't forget to catch the Evening Primrose "show". Highly recommend!

We liked being in downtown Picton, an easy walk to Main St but in a peaceful setting. The pool and hot tub were lovely and we enjoyed the waterfall and koi pond. Seating for meals were outside and the weather was ideal. Room 6 had ample space and we enjoyed the fireplace, jacuzzi tub and fancy shower. The Innkeepers BBQ on Friday night offered ribs, chicken skewers, baby roasted potatoes, asparagus salad, spinach and strawberry salad and rhubarb lucious for dessert. The BBQ is included in Friday night stays and everything was delicious and plentiful. The breakfasts were good, although options are limited and portions weren't huge. The bacon and salmon were especially good. Breakfast service was good but not excellent, for example, not being offered coffee, tea or juice or being asked if we wanted anything else. The hosts, Kathleen and Chris were friendly and helpful.

Thank you for your review. It was lovely to host your getaway. As you visited us on our first weekend back open, with the “new normal” we haven’t had the experience with our new service structure at breakfast. Our “old normal” had self serve stations for coffee, drinks etc. I’m sure future guests can understand the adjustment period is a little longer than the first weekend back open and we’ll master it fairly quickly. Another note for future guests is that breakfast has 10 separate options. Plus cold items like fruit, yoghurt, and granola.

We highly recommend staying and/or dining at The Manse Boutique Inn. We had an absolutely wonderful 2 night stay at this upscale Inn, in the heart of Picton.
A beautifully renovated interior offering luxurious ammentities coupled with the old world style of a converted church house wrapped up in genuine 'county' side hospitality! Megan and Chef Max are a terrific couple and team. Their attention to all details is remarkable and clearly they take pride in making each stay a memorable and comfortable experience. From the immaculate cleanliness of every inch of the property to the efforts in the individual components of fine dining breakfast creations, these two really bring hosting to the highest level.
The fall air was also enjoyed by the hot tub and then a refreshing dip in the pool and back. A variety of well kept outdoor spaces are perfect for enjoying some delicious local coffee by the waterfall or our balcony or roof top terrace.
Further, the location is ideally set and within walking distance to the wide range of dining and shops along the main street. We enjoyed a variety of meals: County Canteen, Pie Guy Pizza, Bocado (Tapas).
Highlights being:
The Miller House (a beautiful view and light dining to share)
Slickers (local ice cream parlour. signature ice cream flavour is Campfire. Worth the experience)
Walking the trails at Macaulay Heritage Park and Bird House City.
This was our first trip to Picton and we hit the jackpot with The Manse and this duo. We'd be happy to return and ideally do 3 nights to really be able to take in the countryside and relax. Thank you for a wonderful time and experience!

We spent three nights over the Easter weekend at The Manse and found everything about the property and the service to be impeccable.
The property has been carefully restored and superbly maintained and within walking distance to all shops and restaurants on Main Street in Picton. Kathleen (Innkeeper) and Chris (Chef) were exceptionally warm and helpful, making our stay both interesting and relaxing.
This place is a perfect spot to escape from the city and explore the county!

This inn has everything I was looking for and more. The manse is magnificent and historic, tucked away behind the church. It has been restored beautifully from top to bottom and has all the modern finishing touches. The garden with koi pond and waterfall is a peaceful spot for the absolutely delicious multi course breakfasts. Drinks by the pool is the perfect way to cool down, and a night time hot tub a lovely way to relax. The hosts Kathleen and Chris take care of all your needs and are happy to recommend Meals or activities. They really make you feel welcome and at home. As an added bonus, the spa in the basement with its limestone walls is wonderful. The little touches were so appreciated such as a water bottle to use for your stay, a fridge to put your wine and cheese in, and snacks and espresso/tea at any time of day. The location close to the Main Street of Picton was also ideal. I can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I are fortunate in that we live in beautiful Prince Edward County. It's been an extra bonus during these Covid non travelling times when holidaying at homeis the way to go
We were thrilled to get a last minute reservation at The Manse. ( We have previously stayed several times) The inn is beautiful, rooms are exceedingly comfortable and Kathleen and Chris are welcoming hosts. As it was raining when we arrived we did not use the pool but enjoyed a cocktail on the lovely veranda.
Dinner was brilliant! Kathleen served us 4 delicious courses, accompanied by wine from Clossen Chase. Though the beef tenderloin and trout were excellent, the preparation of vegetables, all from local farms, was stellar.
Breakfast was equally good and I was thrilled to buy a pound of the delicious house smoked bacon.
We explored some new places, paddled on the Black River and followed Kathleen's suggestion for lunch at the Milford Bistro. Yummy.
Covid health protocols were clear and well followed.
Thank you both for a delightful start to our Home Holiday.

We just left The Manse Inn yesterday. We had a fabulous few days stay at the Inn, run by Megan & Max, who were very attentive. This young couple are very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable! We've stayed at a few B&Bs in our time, but I have to say we've never been served more delicious breakfasts anywhere. Our room was very tastefully decorated, as is the whole Inn. It's been restored beautifully!! The grounds are pristine, the saltwater pool (enjoyed a few great margaritas, made by Chef Max) was refreshing but not at all cold and the patio/pond/waterfall area is so pretty. We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts each morning on the patio beside the pond/waterfall. Can't think of a better way to start the day! We'll definitely be back!!! Thank you to Megan and Max for making this a memorable mini getaway for my husband and myself!!

We would highly recommend the Inn Keeper’s, Kathleen and Chris, the property, the location, the food and the attention to detail. We went on a wonderful private wine and countryside tour, booked through Kathleen. We could not say enough great things about our guide. Make sure you take home Chris’ Gravlax and smoked bacon!!!

Have been staying at The Manse for a number of years, and always wanted to have dinner there, but for whatever reason couldn’t fit it in to my schedule. Boy was that a mistake! Booked a dinner during my December stay and it a fabulous.
Started with a Kale salad, not a big fan of kale, find it too chewy, but this one was delicious, kale was finely chopped and very tender, with grilled pineapple, crispy onions, honey roasted peanuts and a perfectly balanced peanut lime dressing.
Next was cured salmon with a corn pancake and green apple, again perfect balance of flavours.
We had beef tenderloin and rack of lamb, both cooked as ordered, accompanied with new potatoes and 4 different vegetables. Flavours great, minor quibble the lamb was just a little tough, but not enough to distract from the flavour.
Desert was souls vide apple with creme anglaise and crunchy oats. It was heavenly, and left everyone wanting for more.
As usual Kathleen and Chris were charming, professional hosts and made this an evening to relish.
The value for the meal was outstanding. Actually was better value than most restaurants as was the wine pricing.
Will most definitely not be waiting so long again to dine at the Manse.
