We stayed over a weekend, and the inn was full. It only has 6 rooms. When we arrived, the owner Katherine welcomed us and gave us a tour before getting our key. The room is of decent size and the bed is comfortable, and the shower is amazing. The hotel is next to a church and its clock chimes every hour. But it did not interrupt our sleep at all. We pre-ordered a dinner for two for one of the nights we were there. It's called 'Seacuterie', and the portion was good and it was amazingly tasty. I highly recommend it if you are there. Some of the cons: the water did not drain very well for the sink in the bathroom. There is no desk inside the room, making it a little bit difficult to use the laptop. The breakfast was good, but I was expecting it to be a little bit more elaborate. However, overall we did have a great stay, and I will recommend this place if you are in Picton.…
What a charming place to stay in Picton. It has everything you could want in a boutique hotel, lovely rooms, pool and hot tub, delicious breakfasts. Drinks by the pool and patio areas even one with a koi pond! Ideally located in walking distance of the Main Street through Picton. Restaurants and stores close by. Not inexpensive but worth it Best of all The Manse is run by a terrific couple. Chris is the chef and Kathleen manages everything else. Thanks for our stay. Highly recommend. Big
This place is an absolute gem. I stayed three nights and from start to finish, I felt very well cared for. The rooms are elegantly furnished and comfortable. The saltwater pool is small but sufficient, especially when paired with a spell in the hot tub. The location is perfect: a short walk to Picton's main drag. The food was absolutely fantastic, especially a sampler plate I ordered for dinner at the hotel. It was full of gourmet delicacies like house-cured gravlax, homemade seed and nut crackers, chai-marinated grapes, candied pecans, and a variety of local cheeses. Innkeepers Chris and Kathleen have prioritized good service, and I hope very much to return before too long.
Fantastic stay! Can’t recommend this place highly enough. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable and very clean, and the food is amazing. Kathleen and Chris were also so welcoming and accommodating. As an additional bonus, the restaurants, shops, and bars downtown Picton are a two minute walk away. We will be back!
We spent three nights over the Easter weekend at The Manse and found everything about the property and the service to be impeccable. The property has been carefully restored and superbly maintained and within walking distance to all shops and restaurants on Main Street in Picton. Kathleen (Innkeeper) and Chris (Chef) were exceptionally warm and helpful, making our stay both interesting and relaxing. This place is a perfect spot to escape from the city and explore the county!
This is a lovely boutique inn that sincerely welcomes guests and does everything to make the stays so memorable. This included arranging flowers for our suite and the most amazing cheese and tapas platter. Breakfasts were spectacular as gem. A real gem!
I chose an Ontario staycation this September to relax and discover a new part of Ontario. The Manse, its hosts and the PEC area did not disappoint. My room on the 3rd floor was so very quite. The property is amazing considering it is so close to Picton's main street. Breakfast was enjoyable. Try the Finnish pancakes at least once. I ordered dinner one night and Kathleen accommodated my request as a solo traveler. Loved the oysters. Enjoyed the pantry available to guests. The hosts in this pandemic world have taken great care to distance tables, provide reuseable water bottles and explain other covid precautions. i read some older reviews and cannot understanding anyone calling Kathleen or Chris rude. Simply not true. Iron and board available on request.
This was our third stay. Loved every minute. Chris and Kathleen are prefect hosts. Baxter was her usual friendly self. We stayed three nights and found our stay was not a rushed as before. Next year three nights it is Thanks chris and Kathleen for your welcoming and professional attitude toward your guests
We had a lovely stay at the Manse! We went out exploring a lot so the hotel was mainly our base for each night but while we were there it was great. The daily breakfast was delicious and nice to have options! Thanks Kathleen & Chris!
This inn has everything I was looking for and more. The manse is magnificent and historic, tucked away behind the church. It has been restored beautifully from top to bottom and has all the modern finishing touches. The garden with koi pond and waterfall is a peaceful spot for the absolutely delicious multi course breakfasts. Drinks by the pool is the perfect way to cool down, and a night time hot tub a lovely way to relax. The hosts Kathleen and Chris take care of all your needs and are happy to recommend Meals or activities. They really make you feel welcome and at home. As an added bonus, the spa in the basement with its limestone walls is wonderful. The little touches were so appreciated such as a water bottle to use for your stay, a fridge to put your wine and cheese in, and snacks and espresso/tea at any time of day. The location close to the Main Street of Picton was also ideal. I can’t wait to go back!…
