We were blown away by just about everything The Manse had to offer. Hospitality... amazing. Food... better than some of the finest restaurants I’ve been to. The room... super clean, cozy, and easy to sleep in. This was a perfect (and I mean PERFECT) getaway spot. Any cons? It’s a bit difficult to reach via car, given the awkward 5-way intersection and the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it road you have to turn in to get there. That was really it. Thanks again, Chris & Kathleen for the fantastic experience. Chris... we followed your instructions and made some of your food. So good.
We had a wonderful weekend stay at Manse. Very covid safe, super relaxing, delicious food, great location, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent masseuse in spa and Kathleen and Chris were wonderful and ensured we had a fabulous stay. I didn’t want to leave! Can’t wait to go back again soon.
We spent our anniversary weekend at the Inn and were extremely satisfied with everything. It helped that the weather was spectacular too! Innkeepers Kathleen and Chef Chris offer a casual-friendly style that makes you feel welcome, without any pretense. Every meal (all from scratch with local ingredients) was terrific. We tried all of the breakfast options, and each one was great. The BBQ on Friday night featured Ribs, which my friend described as "the best ever". We also tried the 4 course dinner on Sunday night with the wine pairing. Every single plate was wonderful, and the wine paired perfectly. I've already recommended this place to everyone I've spoken too. Although I may regret that, as it's tough to get a reservation. Thanks Kathleen & Chris!
It is difficult - and it can be scary - travelling during these times of Covid-19 with having to wear masks inside all of the time, use the sanitizer wherever we go, and being sure to social distance. Our innkeepers, Kathleen and Christopher, helped us with this throughout our stay at The Manse Inn – making sure that everyone followed safe practices. The Inn was immaculate and our “new norms” did not deter us from experiencing a wonderful three-night stay. The century-old building has been beautifully restored, and is tastefully decorated - with beautiful wood floors and plants scattered throughout. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and quiet. There is a small “butler’s pantry” that offers a selection of cold beverages, tea, and coffee, and an assortment of mini snacks for the guests staying at the Inn. There are also mini fridges for the guests to use to store their own wine, purchased while in the county. Kathleen has a great sense of humour, and was a very friendly, professional, and attentive host throughout our stay. Christopher is an amazing “top-rated” chef – providing the most creative and delicious dinners (trout, rack of lamb, homemade gravlax, scrumptious desserts) and breakfasts that you would expect to find only in high-end city dining rooms. Somehow, the food tasted even better from the beautiful wrap-around veranda and waterfall garden at The Manse. Although only steps away from the downtown main street in Picton, the Inn “oasis” – with its pool, hot tub and beautiful flower beds – was a serene and relaxing place to be (even when it was pouring rain)! We would not hesitate to return to The Manse Inn and have already recommended it to several of our friends. It is in a central location and you couldn’t find kinder hosts. Linda & Andy…
We were really excited to stay here! Upon our arrival we were met with an unwelcoming greeting from the hosts! Throughout the stay we felt at times like we were inconveniencing the hosts and they were not warm and friendly... like what you would expect from a small BnB! The property itself is exceptional, and offers all you would want in a wonderful getaway spot, located conveniently to the downtown core of Picton. We experienced the wonderful meals here as the chef makes everything and I mean everything from scratch! Taste is a 10+ but our main course was COLD with exception of the sides! Likely will not stay here again but will try another location!
