The Royal Hotel is a stunning boutique hotel. The decor is modern and aesthetically pleasing. We stayed in the luxurious suite and it was something special. Being greeted in the room with a personal card and some cookies, tea/coffee was a special touch. The modern finishes and clever designs were everywhere. As you enter, you insert your key card in the slot to turn on the electricity/lights. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the towels and locally sourced shampoos/conditioner/body wash were lovely. I also appreciated the fancy dyson hair dryer, bath slippers, bathrobe and vanity kits. All very nice. The front reception and servers were all top notch and friendly. This is a splurge hotel and well worth it.

A top-notch , upscale boutique hotel. The renovation is beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable. We had dinner one night and our meals were excellent. About the room ( we stayed in an empire suite) 1. I would suggest a room that faces the back of the hotel. We were facing the street and it was a busy weekend in Picton. It did get quite noisy far into the evening. In addition, we were on a very active floor with a lot of kids and teens. We did finally complain about the noise and the staff could not have been more attentive. They made phone calls and then followed up with us again. In my opinion, this is a terrific place for couples, a girls weekend or business travel… not so much for family entertainment. 2. The room was very cute, however, we felt that it was not very functional. There was a large tub in the midst of the room, which crowded the rest of the space. We had large pieces of luggage as we were on a 12 day trip through Canada. there were only two drawers available, which were underneath a bench, and little space to leave our open suitcases.
Parking is free, so it’s hard to complain if there is a little walk involved. There are spots close to the hotel, but they get taken up quickly, so, they have two additional spaces within a block of the hotel.
So, I think I would give it 4.5 stars because of the above mentioned reasons, but I will say that most every thing that is under the staff’s control is absolutely wonderful.

As regular visitors to the County, we thought it was time to try this relatively new hotel in the area, and we were very impressed. The decor is modern and attractive, and the quality of the furnishings and equipment is high. Our quiet room measured 250 square feet, had no view to speak of but was provided with everything we needed and more. Of particular note was loads of storage space, top notch toiletries, a wonderful shower and excellent bedside reading lamps. The highlight of the hotel is the staff who were, with out exception, cheerful and eager to make our stay better in any way they could.

Today 8 people went for brunch in the dining room. Two of us are from Picton and the rest were coveting from various locations. We all ordered various meals. The eggs Benedict was very average with not enough sauce. The poached eggs were not poached but fried. One of the visitors washed for boiled eggs and the waiter said no. The meals were all like warm? We are regulars at the Royal for dinner and cocktails and this meal was very disappointing and very average.

What a wonderful find. We stayed in 3 different hotels in Canada and this one really stood out for us and we definitely would love to come back!
The hotel decor was beautiful. The room had everything we needed and the Dyson hairdryer was an added bonus. Plenty of storage amazingly comfortable bed.
We felt very welcome with the children and the pool area was perfect.
The town Picton is really cool with some fantastic and quirky shops and restaurants. Unfortunately 2 nights wasn’t quite enough so we look forward to returning again soon.

The Royal hotel was excellent. From check in to check out everything was fantastic. The service was top shelf, food was excellent, all the staff seemed so happy to help. The rooms are clean, quaint and absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel and Prince Edward County in general.

We had a great time at this hotel. It’s only 2 years old and beautifully decorated. We were greeted with sparkling wine on check in and had a written welcome not and treat in on arrival to our room. The room was spacious with two large windows, fireplace and a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely stay again.

We live in Picton. Dined there tonight. The meals were so above par. The trout, the flank steak and the pizza. The service is excellent. The ambience was lovely. The dining room was closed so we ate in the front and no complaints at all. What a treasure to have in our town. Always reliable.

Beautiful hotel with some easy to fix issues. Stayed here for two nights in a room in the annex building. The room itself was super comfortable and chic. Because it was my birthday, the staff left me some pastries and a card. The bath products are very high end, and they even give you a wooden toothbrush. The mattress and beddings are lush and amazing. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast twice and dinner once and honestly the food is incredible. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaints are 1) we got back to the room at 6 pm and the room wasn’t made yet and when they made it they didn’t give us new towels and 2) we have an EV and the nearest charging station is a ten minute walk, which in February is a very cold ten minute walk
