Picton Harbour Inn was an oasis of calm on the shores of Lake Ontario. When we first arrived we were a little concerned about noise from the busy road out front but once inside our upper story room with balcony overlooking the lake we had a lovely peaceful stay. The rooms were basically furnished but everything was very good quality and the beds were extremely comfortable. It was immaculately clean and a great place for a relaxing stopover if exploring Prince Edward County. The only drawback was very limited walking trails directly from the hotel but not exactly a major problem. We also had breakfast at the restaurant attached to the hotel which was absolutely superb!
They call it an “inn,” but it’s really more like a motel. Nevertheless, it’s been renovated nicely, and our room was clean and comfortable. Good location in the centre of town. The restaurant seems to be popular among the locals and was a great place to have breakfast the next morning.
Very happy with my recent stay. Very very clean. Staff were helpful and cheery. Very efficient check in/check out process. Rooms look out over the bay. Restaurant was great at breakfast (didn't have any other meals there but would certainly try it another time. Room had a microwave and refrigerator (would have been nice if it had a small freezer for freezer packs etc). TV only had about 8-10 channels ..weather, sports, not much re general entertainment but I doubt many watch TV in Picton with so much to do and see. Overall, I was very happy with this stay.
All rooms have a wonderful harbour view from your own balcony (2nd and 3rd floors). And the staff are helpful and a joy to engage. A must stay place in Picton. Plus the awesome restaurant! Clean comfortable well appointed room with Wifi and TV.
It was a good rate and things were booking fast, so we went with Picton Harbour Inn. I agree with all the comments about the AC. It was obnoxiously loud, blasted cold air in our tiny room and I immediately got a sore throat the first night. I don't think they clean the floors on each visit. I believe they only vacuum. Our floors looked dirty and felt dirty just walking on them, so I took a rag and tested an area and it was filthy. Bathroom was clean, however I think they can do better with the walls throughout the room. It seems like the cleaning staff (which all looked to be students) probably cut corners and only do certain things when told to, rather than aim to thoroughly clean the rooms.
Jerry from reception was awesome, assisting me with all the special touches for my husband's 60th birthday getaway and it was perfect. My husband Chris really enjoyed his surprise birthday getaway weekend. The room was very comfortable and the breathtaking views of the marina from our 2nd floor balcony were spectacular. He was in heaven, walking around seeing all the sailboats, and having a drink(or three, lol) while relaxing on the dock. He was so impressed he said he would really like to return again with some couple friends and book a fishing day. The front desk lady (sorry I did not get her name) was so nice, always available to help in any way including in suggesting places to see and things to do. The Light House Restaurant, conveniently located on site of the Picton Harbour Inn was excellent. We both raved on about the delicious food and how the service was the best, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We had such a great time, we will be back!…
Just leaving after a one night stopover. Very clean, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, super convenient with contactless check in. Our room overlooked the little harbour - with a tiny balcony! - a little loud last night with people hanging out outside on the cute boardwalk but who can blame them, first long weekend of the summer after a long winter! Can’t say enough about breakfast at the adjoining Lighthouse restaurant. Excellent service too. Would definitely return. Have stayed in other more expensive places in Picton and this is the best value we have found.
I appreciate an independent hotel that tries really hard and delivers it! Here is a well situated inn overlooking the stunning harbour and steps to downtown with on-site restaurant, plenty of parking and well appointed modern rooms. We stayed over the Christmas season. Room was warm, quiet, spotless. Bed comfortable. Small couch sitting area. Easy outdoor walk-up. Nice views. Good neighbourhood for early morning walkabout. Friendly staff. Will definitely return when in Picton.
Stayed there as part of wine tour weekend. Great location. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly. Breakfast at the restaurant was really good! Easy to find. Walking distance to shops and restaurants along main street of Picton.
Loved the location. The majority , not all , rooms have a view of the little harbour . 2nd and 3rd floor offer small balcony snd more privacy than first floor. Yes it is a motel . Yes it needs updating . But It’s clean and beds are comfortable . When looking at accommodations in Picton this is good value for the dollar . Some cons , very loud inconsistent A/C , not consistent wifi and very very basic tv selection for when you are in room . Pro : good restaurant on site for breakfast , balcony rooms with harbour view , walk ability to Main Street .
