We encountered a few issues and the first was driving right by the Inn. Fortunately the front desk person was at the restaurant we stopped in for directions. They could use a sign out front for out of Country tourists who aren’t using GPS.

In this spectacular area one would think TV and internet are indulgences but we expected both. The TV would not connect to the satellite so I used our Netflix account instead. The next day staff (Valerie) was determined to rectify the problem but when we returned from a day of touring— no TV or Satellite box so no Netflix.
Internet is either extremely slow or nonexistent.
There is no coffee maker as advertised so add an additional $10-12 to your room cost and the closest coffee spot, Belle View opens at 9 am.
Otherwise the location is okay, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and caring, and the inn is pet friendly.

We stopped at the Duck Cove Inn for breakfast on October 6, 2021.

Our vaccine cards were check on entry and all other COVID protocols were followed.

We ordered 2 fried eggs with bacon and one soft boiled egg also with bacon. Both orders came with coffee/tea, home fries and toast. Everything tasted great, Service was excellent, Laura was super friendly.

In total our bill came to 29.55.

We both remarked that it looked like a beautiful spot to stay.

The inside of the room has been redone top to bottom. New owners after 50 years (see past reviews) Breakfast was great - GF french toast. Rooms had mini fridge, microwave, wifi and hair dryer. The outside needs a new coat of paint but they are headed in the right direction.

We heard so many good things about the Duck Cove Inn’s breakfast for years and we were very excited to finally try it out. To our dismay, not only was the service terrible but the food was equally dreadful. We waited 30 minutes for two egg breakfasts and they brought us our toasts 5 minutes before our meat and potatoes which I found extremely odd and unconventional. The eggs tasted like they were cooked in water; in other words they had NO TASTE. We didn’t even have salt or pepper on the table to douse it in to make it bearable to eat.The staff at the main desk wasn’t overly friendly either, not bothering to ask us how our breakfast was, tell us to have a good day or even engage in eye contact for that matter.

Do yourself a favour and pass the bridge to eat breakfast at the Bellevue Restaurant instead, not even two minutes up the road to your left if driving into Cheticamp. You won’t be disappointed!

I grew up in this area so I never actually stayed at this motel until I returned for a high school reunion. The view of the harbor is fantastic. They have chairs to sit out and watch the world go by. The rooms are being updated....just need a little more attention to detail in cleaning ie bathroom windows. The owners are quite friendly and accommodating. There is breakfast served but I never made it to that part

First of all there was no Smoke detector in the room. The shower didn't look like the walls of the shower had been cleaned. Lots of missing paint patches, baseboards were not clean. Web site needs to be updated some information is not correct in regards to the free breakfast and the restaurant is open.

Place is a overpriced dump with funny smell rude staff. Breakfast is not included in the price and what you get when you order might as well throw in the garbage. Has a nice view but thats about it. Stay somewhere else.

This hotel MIGHT have been ok in the 50’s but no where near acceptable in this day and age at $197 a night …..
BRUTAL - no air conditioning / weakinternet / spartan hostel like furniture / noisy /tired mattress / restaurant closed / breakfast not included / noisy mini fridge ( unplugged to sleep / heater on and no control / screen door with 2 foot rip /stained sink…and on it goes…
A rip off at $197 …..should have realized when we first arrived to nobody around and “lobby “ door wide open …20 minutes later a lady appeared , could not find a key to our room …”lobby “ is a mess of clothes strewn al over with a kitchen table covered in junk ….not really a lobby ….back to the 50’s…..

Was unsure when we pulled in, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was reasonably priced with lots of food and really good. We would go back. It was very hot and they had working air conditioners in the rooms. The balcony was small, but great for 2 and had a wonderful view of Margaree Harbour.

This motel is pretty tired. It appears that they have put a little money into beds, TV and the bathrooms; they appear new-ish. Linens were clean. However, exterior, doors, windows, etc. are all in need of attention. The a/c in our room didn't work. Bathroom didn't have a curtain on the window. Woman at the front desk was not the most welcoming. Certainly many areas for improvement. The town of Margoree is nice for a one night stop over.
