We had our wedding here last week and I was incredibly impressed with everything. Our package included the Executive Cottage for two nights which was useful as a location for a rehearsal dinner/wedding social the night before and the wedding ceremony and reception were held on the beautiful patio and lawn. The views were amazing, everybody raved about the food (the on-site bbq chef was a plus), the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was very comfortable, clean, and can host 3 couples. The wedding package was quite affordable, dogs are welcome and could stay during the dinner because it's technically a residence. We were also allowed to bring our own wine and serve it ourselves as it was on a residence (this most likely wouldn't be allowed if it had been switched to their ballroom so hope for good weather). No regrets booking here, if you want an intimate destination wedding in BC, check this place out.

We loved the setting and the somewhat remote location with birds, butterflies and gorgeous plantings on the site. The sunsets were astounding. Pools and hot tubs are luxurious and well designed. The meals we had were excellent but wait times for some items were long. The Moorings breakfasts could be a little more substantial but overall their quality is high. This resort is a nice getaway to a beautiful quiet part of Pender Island. It’s worth the trouble to get there.

This is a really stunning location with so much potential…we appreciated the views and the amazing landscaping work however I was shocked by the lack of efficiency with the housekeeping department. We stayed in a 2 bedrooms cottage and there was dust all over the place. The furnitures were stained and we also found dirty dishes and garbage left from the previous guests. The floor was very sticky and we didn’t feel safe to remove our socks. The beds looked very bad and were terribly uncomfortable. I know the after covid time is kind of challenging at many aspects for the industry but we were absolutely disappointed by our experience at Poets Cove.. My husband is booking here for our annual getaway for a few years now but this is the last time.

Other than the dim lighting in the washroom and expensive room pricing, this place was exceptional, both with service and cleanliness of the rooms. Scenery was breathtaking. Highly recommended and will likely return for a relaxing getaway!

A beautiful location but our Villa room definitely needed some TLC. Very dated. No ice available. The beds were uncomfortable. We attended a wedding and it was very good. The food was good and the event was run very well. We were able to bring our dog which was a definite bonus.

The view from the cottage #7 was not as shown on the web site. We had a small view of the harbour but the view shown on the website was for the 3 bedroom cottage in front of our cottage. The cottage was very nice but the housekeeping was not very good. The shower was dirty with mould on the edges of the floor. When we arrived a used tube of tooth paste was on the shower shelve. The rugs needed a good cleaning. We enjoyed our stay but for a high end resort they could do better. I suspect the cabins and villas are individually owned and in a rental pool which explains the wild range of reviews. Some owners probably update their units when things wear out and others are as they were when built. We were in a cabin with king bed, two single beds and pullout couch. The unit itself was OK but don’t look under the beds or couches….filthy. The kitchen was ill equipped. Absolutely no cleaning supplies. The worst part about the experience was ALL the beds. Just brutal to sleep on. All the mattresses were sunken in with absolutely no support (Cabin 9). For $700 a night this was very disappointing. The 3 stars was for the rest of the resort…… location, view, lodge, restaurant. Everything was great except those dam beds and lack of supplies to clean up as you go. At that price we won’t be back to a cabin or villa but will try the lodge where there hopefully is quality control.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I would like to sincerely apologize for the issues experienced during your stay but thank you for sharing this with us and allowing us the opportunity with us. In particular thank you for sharing your comments about the bed as this can be harder for our staff to determine and we are currently looking at what mattresses need replacement. I have shared this with our inventory team so they can look at mattress replacement for this unit. Again thank you for your feedback and understanding. Many Thanks, Nikki Morgan - Front Office Manager

We booked a 2 bedroom villa with a kitchen and private hot tub for the Easter long weekend. The room was REALLY grimy and desperately needs a deep cleaning. Black mold in the shower, stains and dirt on the couch, dirty hand prints and remnants of what appears to be BBQ sauce on the walls, sticky floor in the kitchen, rusty, worn out, dirty cookware, and blood stains on the duvet. We brought this to the attention of the front desk the following morning before leaving to explore for the day and were told it would be taken care of. When we returned 8 hours later, nothing had been done. We went to the front desk to again bring this to their attention only to be told there was nothing they could do as all the cleaning staff had left for the day, the linnens were locked up and they didn't have a key. We were pretty upset about the duvet not being replaced and asked them to figure that out while we were at dinner. They managed to get us a clean duvet and gave us free dessert with our dinner to try to smooth things over. We were super disappointed, and ended up washing the kitchen floor ourselves. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I wish we would have read some of the other recent reviews before booking. The state of cleanliness of the room and everything in it was shockingly unacceptable. The only reason for the second star was the excellent food at the restaurant.

Enjoyed the experience of visiting another beautiful Gulf Island. The resort is close to nature and beach walks. Really enjoyed watching the sunsets from our deck. The breakfast cafe lacked breakfast items, but the restaurants were quite pleasant.

Poets Cove is a hidden secret as is Pender Island. This unique island with narrow winding roads through fields and ocean views and even a mountain is worth discovering.. The resort is situated in a small bay with a large marina with many boats of all sizes, many sailboats. There is a private beach with which looked for swimming. In March the water was freezing except to our dog who did swim. There is a little cafe which has a small liquor store attached, very unique. The one site restaurant is excellent. There's a small pool and hot tub. Our stay was booked through BC Ferry vacations which I highly recommend.
