Detailed Reviews
Harbour House B&B was the perfect place for my husband and I before and after our kayak trip. Susan is a joy to work with and is always making sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. We had a late check-in and she made sure it was smooth and easy for us. She has great recommendations for around the island and her breakfast is aways yummy! We stayed in two different rooms and both had great views of the water.

A stunning house in a stunning location. Susan is a great host who went out of her way to help with transportation.
Immaculate home. High quality towels and bedding etc. Comfortable and very relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfast.
I simply cannot fault Harbour House.

Fabulous and healthy breakfast each day as well as the amazingly comfortable beds were the highlights. 9:30 curfew on the hot tub was a bit early considering the time of year and when the sun goes down. A great place if you are looking for peace and quiet.

We stayed at Harbour House for 2 nights in the Sunrise Suite the views were stunning! You can lie in bed looking through the huge window watching the sun rise and the changing colours of the sky were amazing! The views across the water to Rebecca Spit were beautiful. It was so peaceful sitting on the balcony eating Susan's freshly cooked banana bread for breakfast. Susan was a lovely host making you feel very welcome and giving you tips of where to go on Quadra. The island isn't vey big, we drove around it In a day but it is well worth a visit as it is so beautiful. We ate at the Heriot Bay Inn which is a short walk from the B&B and saw lots of deer on the way! We also ate at Gowland Harbour Resort but were a little disappointed with the food and it is quite expensive. After driving around and seeing the other hotels on the Island I would say that we definitely had the best one !

My friend and I stayed with Susan before and after a kayaking trip recently and I am happy to report that what you have read below is absolutely correct. Susan's incredibly generous hospitality and easy going personality made both stays an absolute pleasure and we felt that staying at her B&B was pretty much like staying at a relative or friend's home. The B&B feels like a family home. Everything was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were great and the very tasty breakfast was tailored to what you felt like eating.
The house benefits from incredible views due to the elevated location and it was certainly nice being able to enjoy a bit of breakfast overlooking the water. It is also a very easy walk down to the Heriot Bay Inn, which in itself is pretty spectacular at the end of the day.
Pretty easy decision folks.....this should be your first option when you stay on Quadra Island!

We stayed at Susan's beautiful house two nights pre and post a kayak expedition. The house is stunning, as are the views and Susan's breakfast. She has thought of everything and is a wonderful host and very welcoming. We definitely recommend her B and B. Thank you so much for the lovely experience Susan.

Lovely B&B prior to our kayaking tour - only downside was we arrived late and set off early in the next morning! Wish we had stayed another night or two at the end of it!!
Great place and lovely views! A gem of a place!

susan was so lovely to deal with both by email and in person! she was kind enough to let me use her small laptop to contact my family on my arrival and had it accessible for the duration of my trip. since i had no bars on my cell phone, this can in handy!
the view, the home, the hot tub, the hospitality and the incredibly filling breakfasts were a huge bonus. i'm really pleased i booked my pre and post trip lodging at Harbour House! i was in the Garden Room for the first two nights and my only complaint is how hard the mattress was in that room. the Sunrise Suite had a super comfy mattress so if i were to go back, i would ask for that room.
otherwise, i had no complaints and only compliments for susan and Harbour House. thanks so much for a lovely stay on Quadra!

We stayed in Susan's B&B in the Sunrise Room. Oh my, where to begin. You can chose to Kayak,go Salmon fishing, take a hike on one of the trails on the island, take a bike ride, or just sit outside with a good book and stare at nature's beauty. We took the trail out to The Rebecca Spit . The trail goes in and out of forest and beach. We spotted several bald eagle on boulders probably eyeing their next catch in the bay. We spent over four hours on Discovery Safari Marine water tour of the area. We encountered a humpback whale and a school of about 100 dolphins that interacted with our boat. We visited a First Nation museum on the island and driving to all these places we encountered many deer (drive slow!) and back at the B&B, Susan is gracious and helpful with all her suggestions. Breakfast is served out on the terrace with that fabulous view. Back to the Sunrise room. The bed is oriented to the view and when is the last time you had a walk in closet in a hotel or B&B? I hadn't til Susan's. plus a bath tub for soaking & separate shower. There's a reason this b&b is number one. Now my only question to you is: what are you waiting for?

This is far and away the best B&B experience I have had in North America. From the initial contact, swift and helpful email responses to questions, booking and payment, to Susan's friendly greeting, wonderful location and a really nice room (I stayed in the Sunrise suite) and great breakfast, it was perfect. There is actually nothing more I could have asked for. The suite and the view from its window were memorable. The island itself is exceptional. Apart from the beautiful scenery, it has a sense of community and tranquility that set it apart from the mainland and from many other places. I hope I get a chance to go back and stay longer. It would certainly be at Harbour House B&B again.
