We stayed in a single cabin on the beach with our dog for 3 nights. What an awesome little get away. Morning walks on the beach, hanging out on the dock, and just relaxing in the lounge chairs watching the water. I cannot say enough about this place. Friendly staff, super clean and a fully stocked kitchen...they even left us treats and towels for our dog. Great trails nearby, Rebecca spit is visible from the cabins and is an amazing place to explore. Thank you Taku resort for an amazing stay. We will be back.
Went to Quadra Island in our motorhome. BC ferry staff are great at tucking you in on the ferry, knowledgeable & friendly bunch of folks! Booked a site at Taku resort. It was a little small cause we’re rather big but we managed to settle in. The site could have used a bit of a pruning on the vegetation but keeping up with that would be a full time job in the growing season. Power, water & sewer hookup was great except the amps could be more. But again when we popped a breaker we just went to the box & flipped it back on. Taku resort is beautiful! The bay on where Taku is situated is pristine & postcard perfect! I got to peek in some of the rooms thanks to the staff. Lovely, spacious, modern, with beautiful finishes. Decks with hammocks & patio furniture! Could have moved right in! Played bocce down by a sweet boat that was built for children to play in. So fun for the family! Benches and lawn chairs are dotted thru out for you to enjoy the views. The whole place is just a gem! A person should really go & unwind here. Read a book, paint, hike, just relax! The staff are so nice & the grounds are beautiful.…
This is a small group of A frame cabins and a small building with a group of rooms all of which are extremely rustic and minimal by today’s standards. The place has virtually no WiFi and should either notify people on their website or get a tech person to install WiFi extenders/transmitters and get real WiFi. It is not enough to say you have internet and then advise people when they check in that the signal is weak (unusable and frustrating is more accurate) unless you go to their office, that is, if the office is open. Not acceptable anymore guys. Either advise people that you really don’t have internet or get the upgrades. And tell the provincial government that you can’t run a resort - even in a rustic, beautiful place like that- without dependable internet. Beautiful place but not my cup of tea. …
This was our second stay. Last year we enjoyed a tent site (and booked an extra day because there was so much left to be explored). This year we brought our parents along and shared a terrace unit with them. Our entire company of five (one 3-year-old, two 30-year-olds and 2 well... grandparents :) ) enjoyed every aspect. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen exceptionally well equipped. The atmosphere is splendid and unique. My daughter cannot stop giving hugs every time we pass by 'the girl reading her ABC book'. We are not boaters, so I cannot speak for the dock amenities, but the kayak rental service was flawless. I understand that some reviewers do not like the fact that the office may be closed or that you may have to launch your own kayak. Me personally, I consider this a breezy kind of freedom that I actually enjoy :) Since I am a gardener, I really appreciate the work that went into building the natural surroundings. The planted gardens harmonize so well with the forest that I spent a lot of time just strolling the grounds, enjoying the atmosphere. As a sidenote, we forgot to bring my daughter's toybox. And she didn't even notice: there was that much to see and do for her :) To the delight of some other guests, we caught lots of imaginary fish off the playboat and roasted them into imaginary delights at the stone house. The location is fantastic: short drive from Chinese Mountains, Rebecca Spit accessible by kayak, car or bike. Groceries at walking distance. Yes. We will be back next year :)…
Very friendly and helpful staff. The cabin we rented was clean with a great view of the ocean. We had booked for 3 nights, but, had to leave after 2 nights due to an emergency at home. Even though we checked out late, they only charged us for 2 nights. The cabins are also dog friendly. Would definitely stay again.
