#1 of 2 hotels in Sankt Goarshausen
The Nassauer Hof Hotel is a family run, comfortable and friendly Hotel, in the midst of the UNESCO World Henitage (Upper Middle-Rhine Valley) and practically directly an the Hikers route "Rheinsteig". The Hotel is situated in the centre of St. Goarshausen, only 2 mins. away from the railway station an the landing stage for the day-trip boats. Our house is the ideal starting point for day trips, long or short. The approximately 220 year old house looks back on a changing history. Originally built a staging post for coach & horses, it has been used as a theatre, a cinema, a mustering station for military service. It was also used as a High school and by the French occupation force and as a police station and jail. To day, our house has been completely renovated. The 8 double-rooms are modern, bright & friendly, complete with shower, WC, hair dryer, TV and alarm clock. The "wine house" with regional specialities and wine from the Loreley area, invites you to a relaxing stay. Here you can have an enjoyable evening in pleasant company, sampling the local game and lamb.

This bnb is very near the landing docks for the cruise ships (kd, Vikings). I enjoyed the stay especially as the restaurant was opened in the evening and the food was really fantastic! The gripes are with the Internet and cable TV. The Internet is only available at the ground level in the bar area. The cable TV doesn't have many channels and the TV is a small set suspended at the corner of the room. Having said that, no one comes here to watch tv or surf the web. It would have been nice to get wifi in the room just so to research on trips around town in English because a lot of information are provided in German. The payment is only by MasterCard or cash. No visa accepted. However as it's relatively affordable, bring enough euros to stay and eat at the restaurant! Though being next to the train tracks meant that rooms can hear the trains passing by, it's not too bad since the noise is reduced.

Excellent location, friendly staff. Accepted early check in without extra charge. Rome isn't that good the room ventilation is poor you have to open the windows to get fresh air and to get rid of bad smell.

The owners laid out an itinerary for us for exploring castles, the beautiful countryside, and the magnificent views of the river. The location is convenient being between Rudesheim and Koblenz where the Mosel merges with the Rhein. There is a ferry to the other side of the river right near the hotel. The owners called ahead for us to make sure that some of the attractions were open since it was early in the season. Breakfast was great and dinner in the hotel was excellent. Our room was clean and spacious and there was WiFi. We would definitely stay here again. Don't skip the half day cruise to Rudesheim for lunch and shopping. Then a quick train ride back to Sankt Goarshausen

We arranged to stay at the hotel as we were attending the night of the prog festival in nearby Loreley. Although when my wife and I arrived there was no one in attendance when we called the owners very quickly allowed us entry. We found Ruth to be very helpful and she immediately gave us a local map. There is also a large number of leaflets just inside the entrance. We had a room on the top floor with a shared shower room and kitchenette. We were able to come and go as we pleased as we had keys both to our room and the front door. It is true the railway line is adjacent to the hotel but you do get used to it very quickly and neither of us were unduly disturbed. There is a local supermaket very close by and St Goar is literally a short ferry ride across the Rhine. Breakfast as stated is Continental but hey we were in Germany and I would much rather that than find "fine English cuisine!!!" The only area of disappointment was the fact the restaurant within the hotel was closed throughout our 3 day stay owing to the lack of people wishing to eat. However it is a hotel we would not hesitate to use again when seeing bands at the ampitheater

Was here to see the music festival with my 12 year old daughter but intended to do some sightseeing as well, We arrived at 14:00 and were taken to a clean spacious room with a small ensuite shower. The welcome was very warm and friendly. As has been pointed out in other reviews - the railway line does run next to the hotel and will provide an alarm call at about 07:00 but to be honest we didn't really notice it after a while and it in no way affected our sleep. Our host recommended a fantastic trip by boat up to Assenheim and then cross country for 30 minutes via 2 cable cars before returning on the cruise from Rudesheim - it was the highlight of our break with breathtaking views, St Goarhausen is all but shut by early Sept so be prepared to cross on the ferry ( 90 seconds or so ) to St Goar for souvenir shopping and possibly an evening meal as well as taking the tourist train to the castle and seeing the worlds larget free hanging cuckoo clock. We had a great time using the German train system coming from Frankfurt and all could not have run smoother and the tourist boats were good value as well.
