We have visited the site twice now, once on the camping field (September 16) the other in a timber yurt (March 17), and i would recommend either experience to all. There are some great little spots for the tents, and the owners even let us get out of the way on the field to the right hand side (three blokes...

Our second time here. Lovely location, ideal for walking and riding. The pub and cafe offer great food at reasonable prices. The shop closes at 6ish so pack milk and bread otherwise it's a 7 mile drive. Great place to bring the kids or have a couples break.

We stayed in one of the large wooden yurts for 4 people, which was lovely but more suited to a family with younger children as all in one room. Timber Yurt was clean and cosy with a log burner and a seating area but no cooking facilities. This was on the website but would have liked more detailed e-mail communication...

We spent three nights in our caravan at this site. Was great, love underfloor heating in showers. Was clean and tidy. Great dog walking area. Was handy for us to visit our family, perfect for them to join us for a meal in the caravan. Will definitely be back.

MASSIVE shout out to Rivendale and their staff! Me and my partner came for a stay in the bridal suite as it was genuinely the only room left at short notice. And it was just gorgeous. The views were spectacular and your staff couldn't do enough for us. However. .. I'm urged to write this after reading the 'bad' reviews...

Excellent accommodation, double bed, bunk bed with bedding. Wood burning stove, oil fuel radiator, 6 electric sockets bed side cabinets everything required for glamping, Showers/toilets block spotless, laundry on site, clean and very well kept site. Staff in cafe, restaurant and reception very friendly and helpful. Reason for not giving 5/5 is wood purchased from shop too big for wood...

Thanks for your review - sorry about the wood, we usually stack them separately in the shop for fire pits where size is not an issue & stoves where it is. We are currently in the process of installing a superior broadband service - the problem is BT Openreach's service in the rural areas of Derbyshire - which would be...

We arrived home yesterday after what can only be described as a fake Glastonbury weekend! As being one of the only four tents on the site, we were allocated a pitch near to the entrance, in front of a large man made hill (great for blocking the wind). When we arrived the Friday night, we didn't realise how bad the...

Thank you for your review. The pitches were all repaired and reseeded at the end of last year, and did not feature any expanse of mud or soil, prior to your arrival - but it is inevitable that trampling around on wet grass even putting the tent up will result in mud. It is unfortunately very difficult to be aware...

Folks we have just come back from a few days staying with you, a short notice choice as we have to confess to not normally using commercially owned sites. On arrival a nice clear direction to the pitch, by two lovely ladies with big smiles. We weren't disappointed the setting in a disused quarry is spectacular and provided shelter from...

Thanks for your constructive observations. Grass is a problem because, despite re-seeding in autumn with special seed that germinates in cool weather, it only takes one person to drive over it whilst siting their unit, to completely trash it when its wet before the next person arrives. Thus a pitch can be fine on Friday when booked - and trashed...

Spotted the roadside sign for a café so stopped for afternoon tea. Really pleasant staff & good food and drink at reasonable cost - pot of tea, a cider, two slices of pecan pie for £9.85. Well recommended.

Glad you stopped by, you can now park for £2.20, go for a walk all day and you get your money back if you spend over £6. Best wishes.
