Let’s start off with the positives, the ladies at the office were super friendly. There are lovely trails to walk down to the river and it is a very easy and beautiful walk. We just wanted a place to tidy up our motor home and have some quiet time as we just spent the night on the ferry, and it was extremely uncomfortable. Their laundry facilities were the cleanest and most reasonable prices, $2.00 to wash and $3.00 to dry and you can buy laundry pods for $1.00 each, that I have ever seen, and I should know as we live in our RV and have been to many RV parks. The site we finally were put into was fully serviced, but had no shade. So here are the negatives: we are in a 34 foot Thor Magnitude, it is a very large motor home, and we were put into a site that we did not fit, so we had to go back to the office to get a different site…This is where we had a huge issue, even if you plan to stay for one night, you have to pay for 2 nights, it is a two night minimum……..Okay, so we were willing to spend 2 nights to get our money’s worth, nope! Because the first site we were put in did not fit us, the site we were moved to ( I had already paid for two nights) was booked for the next day so we had to leave, and there were no other sites available, so she said, although we did see a few empty sites. Also, there was a planned power outage for the ENTIRE Northern Island, and do you think she took that into consideration…Nope, still had to pay for the two nights. So, it was a place to stay, I got my laundry done, and we moved on.

Located right on the highway, just before Port Hardy the Port Hardy RV & Resort is an easy access full-service RV Park.
The sites are well maintained and laid out in a horseshoe shape. The sites on the outside of the horseshoe are gravel surfaced and the sites on the inside of the horseshoe are grass surfaced.
All of the sites have water, sewer and, other than Site #1, 30 amp power. Site #1 being the sole site with 50 amp power.
Each site has a table and all gravel surfaced sites have fire rings. Wood is available for sale.
There is free Wi-Fi which is passable for e-mail in most parts of the park. If you are going to be staying long or need reliable high speed internet Shaw cable is available at most, possibly all, sites and you should contact Shaw to have high speed internet made available at your site.
The laundry and shower rooms are new, kept clean and very nice to use.
In addition to the RV Park there are also a number of rental cabins.
There are many walking and hiking trails available from the park. It is about a half hour walk into town.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We arrived with the Prince Rupert Ferry late at night. Wasn't a problem, we got a message stating how to "self checkin". We had a Cabin. And a nice one! Very clean, very comfy, looks like the cabin was either very new or extremely cleaned or just remodeled. It's a nice location at a nice place from where one can explore the northern parts of Vancouver Island.
Highly recommended.

Poor to horrible wifi connection. ( rarely exists) Couldn’t connect even a cell phone even with a wifi extender. Have mentioned to have this issue fixed in the past and their lack of effort to improve this is sad and displays disregard for customer satisfaction.

Was a little hesitant at first as there is a 2 night minimum when checking in to the RV rental. We had only planned on being in Port Hardy overnight.

Tracy was so nice and an absolute sweetheart on the phone so we booked in for a couple of nights.

So glad we did. Behind the park is an estuary filled with wildlife including Bald Eagles, garter snakes and other wonderful creatures. The river adjacent to the resort was filled with migrating salmon splashing the water as they jumped out to show off or grab a tasty morsel on the surface.

15 min walk into town via the Harbour Trail had us to the fishing wharf and marina and then another 10 and we were in the centre of town.

Glad we decided to stay. Love the authenticity of Port Hardy and abundance of wildlife right at your door.

Great job on the cleanliness of the park with all amenities including laundry.

Was pretty disappointed in the lack of empathy shown when I discovered I'd lost my wallet (and ability to pay for a safe tent site for the night) I begged them to accept etransfer and was literally in tears. I was told no. I asked if they knew of anywhere I could stay and was again told no. I ended "sleeping" in pretty rough terrain. Lots of animal noises and what sounded like a gunshot. Needless to say I was terrified and didn't get much sleep. I also own a campground and would NEVER have turned away a single lady even if she was completely unable to pay. I at least offered etransfer. Shameful.

I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights last week and I loved the little cabins! Not only are they cute but they have everything you may need including a BBQ hut for us to use! The housekeeping staff keep the cabin immaculate. The shower is huge and mobility challenge friendly. The walk along the estuary is well worth the time you will see many different types of birds and maybe an otter! The noise from the road was not an issue you barely heard it when in the cabin! I really liked the proximity to the hiking trails in the area!

Very cozy cabins here. Everything was clean and most important is that they allowed pets. Extra bonus was you could hike the trail for the bird sanctuary right from the campground. Very scenic area and close to town. Staff was very friendly would definitely go there again.

Brought to the beautiful Port Hardy for a tourism conference. I was excited when I booked as the photos of the little log cabins looked perfect. I was not disappointed. If I didn't know any better I would have said they were just built. Spotless. A big thumbs up to the housekeeping staff. An amazing sleep, super comfortable beds. Staff was super friendly - check in was quick and easy as was check out. I would definitely recommend.

Clean well appointed cabins and friendly staff right off the highway...but perhaps I should say right on the highway. Not sure why this was so expensive. There was no view and nothing really stood out about this place. It was simply a place to stay and not nearly as nice as several others in town.
