For sure an older Inn, it doesn’t look like much from the street side. But they have updated the things that matter, the views are incredible, and the staff are amazing. The beds are super comfy with fluffy pillows. The towels are soft and big. The breakfast at the restaurant is quick and delicious, and they do a good job with gluten free. 💕 All in all we very much enjoyed our stay

Never judge a book by its cover. From front it doesn’t look much get past the friendly check in open the door to your room and you will be surprised every room has a stunning view of the harbour and a balcony. The pub and restaurant are attached to the hotel and serve up good quality reasonably price breakfasts and dinners. Don’t expect sophisticated dining take it for what it is and enjoy the local welcome and service

We rate our stay at 8 of 10. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious, yet cozy with a great view of the float planes. The linens were fresh each day. The beds were firm yet comfortable. The staff was very helpful in giving directions to the local areas of interest as well as what to expect on the trail to San Josef Bay. Would stay here again.

We were here barely 12 hrs due to catching the ferry early next morn. It was a spacious room, clean and offered a good sleep. I asked for and got a wake up call for us on top of our phones just to be sure at such an early hr. Hence we missed the complimentary breakfast. The front desk staff were great, esp the gal when we checked in. I thought the price was somewhat high for the hotel but given their location they can command it. We had a lovely view of the bay from our room and enjoyed a peaceful walk out along the breakwater around the docks close by. I would consider staying here again if in Hardy. The town is 5 minutes away with shopping and food choices available.

Arrived late after 17 hours on the ship from Prince Rupert. Great welcome from Claire late at night. Got up had a great breakfast with Daniela. Spoke to the supervisor Deirdre about what a great place to stop after a very long journey. It is a great motel/hotel. Place was immaculate. Deirdre looks after everything. Watched eagles swoop down and catch food from the sea. Can’t go wrong great for a stop over. Thank you

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while we were vacationing in British Columbia. The people at the front desk were particularly nice and welcoming. All the rooms have balconies overlooking the water. The view is very pretty and restful. If you stay up late enough you can see the ferry arriving from Prince Rupert. The room was comfortable and the beds were comfortable. The whole location is very quiet. Breakfast is not included so we ate in the restaurant next to the hotel. The food was great.

Great location. Has an elevator. All rooms have balconies and face the inlet and the boat harbour. At low tide bald eagles can be abundant as they feed on what the outgoing tide has left. The people who work there are great. The hotel was very fresh & clean both outside and in our room. We had the bridal suite which is well worth the extra cost. It is very large, well appointed including an electric fireplace, nice bedding & towels, terrific WiFi. Fresh and very tasty coffee is always available at no cost in the lobby. Less impressive was that the furniture and bed are all too soft for our liking, there is no table for the sofa, the TV should be updated to improve picture quality. the drain in both the bathroom sink & shower were very slow and the fridge & microwave need to be relocated so that the stools and counter are usable.

What a view! Be sure to allow for time in your travels to enjoy the eagles, a couple of otters and sunset/sunrise from the balcony. Cassandra checked us in and asked us about our plans. When she heard that we were going to take the Prince Rupert ferry she offered to give us tips to make our voyage extra special. I appreciated that she suggested that we stop by the desk after we'd settled in because there were other guests waiting to check in. Very thoughtful and professional to manage her time. We did exactly that, returning after dinner when we were the only ones in the lobby. Cassandra spent 20 minutes giving her suggestions not only about the ferry but about hikes and area interests too. Cassandra represents what we love so much about Canada. She is friendly, helpful and proud of the hotel where she works and her beautiful country. We did our laundry here at the hotel too. Cassandra knew exactly what change we'd need. And the machines worked well. It's rare in our experience that one dryer cycle actually dries the load, and it did here. It's all of those things combined with a clean, comfortable room that makes us want to post a review and plan to return. Thank you Cassandra and the Glen Lyon Inn!

Stayed at the Glen Lyon for a few days while exploring the Port Hardy area. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the room was clean and modern. The view from the balcony was spectacular. I've never seen so many bald eagles! It was fantastic to end our busy day by sitting on the balcony watching the fishing boats and eagles and enjoying peace and quiet. Really great little inn!

Used this hotel for one night when going to Prince Rupert by ferry as it was close proximity to the Port Hardy ferry terminal. It fit the bill perfectly. Front desk were exceptionally helpful at check-in and friendly. Room was exactly what we needed.
