This is a great renovated hotel with ample parking. The only issue I had was that we arrived at the hotel at 3pm ( check in was 4pm which I was reminded of several times). There were 3 parties in the line up ahead of us and everyone got their room. Apparently our room was not ready. The person at the desk was going to check on the status of our room. When we finally got our room at 4:15pm. The room was like walking into a refrigerator. It seemed like no one had been that room for some time. I believe that if someone had physically checked on our room they would have found the room to be ready and available. Computer systems are not always right.

We loved our stay at the Kwa'lilas. The renovations with indigenous art work across the hotel are beautiful, staff are very friendly and the food and service were excellent! Such a great place to stay on northern Vancouver Island!

This hotel is a mixed bag of scores. Rooms are spacious, modern, clean and well furnished. 5 Reception staff were not welcoming or particularly helpful. 3 Breakfast was poor. 2 Food in the attached pub for dinner and customer service was fantastic. 5 This hotel is the best in Hardy and close to the mall if you need supplies so best option available.

We stayed at the Kwa'lilas for one night before taking a boat to a wilderness lodge. The lobby is roomy and the check-in was fast and easy. Our room was very large and very clean. We had a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The hotel pub/restaurant was one of just a few open in Port Hardy on a Sunday night. During dinner, it was closed off from the lobby and you had to go around the hotel to an outer door. It was crowded since it was pretty much the only restaurant open, but service was good and we got a table in just a few minutes. Food was good. The complimentary breakfast is in the same restaurant although for breakfast they are not open to the public. The outer door is closed and you access the restaurant from the lobby. It was a typical breakfast buffet. We had a comfortable and pleasant stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone spending the night in Port Hardy.

Excellent overnight stay here, waiting to catch the Bella Coola ferry the next morning. The beds & pillows are very comfortable; great First Nations artwork throughout the public spaces. Had dinner at the hotel's pub - great food and great service at a fair price. Would stay here again.

Port Hardy is a small town located on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. With a population of about four thousand people our expectations for the hotel were limited. Arriving late at night from Prince Rupert Ferry Terminal, it was a quick ten minutes taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel is a low rise modern building predominantly constructed of timber. Reception was expecting us and checking in was straightforward. The bedroom was a good size, quiet and clean, with modern fixtures and fittings. Breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant was OK and the service was quick. The hotel is set back from the road outside and it’s about ten minutes’ walk to the town centre and the water front. The overall impression was a medium sized hotel serving a small community and its visiting tourists. The ambiance was peaceful and overall an attractive place to stay. We departed for Vancouver via Port Hardy airport - about a 15 minute taxi journey.

My husband is on a liquid diet due to health reasons. The kitchen staff arranged to blend their delicious seafood chowder so he could eat his meal with us in the dining room. This was the first time in many months that I and our friends had been able to eat at a restaurant with him. It was so compassionate and thoughtful. The hotel was very well serviced, and the staff is helpful beyond measure.

We loved our stay here! The hotel's cedar construction and Indigenous artwork is unique and beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and the food at the restaurant onsite was excellent. We appreciated the complimentary buffet breakfasts. One evening, we took a 10-minute walk to the harbourfront where we watched bald eagles soaring and landing in front of us. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed for a night with my husband on our road trip. Hotel was fantastic in all ways, from the room to the staff to the pub. Room was comfy, pub had great food and was very busy, breakfast was included and included a variety of eggs, pastries and bannock. My only small gripe was that the AC unit in the room was kinda loud and woke me up when the compressor kicked in, so we shut it off. Great stay!

Very nice hotel. Rooms and beds are comfortable, nice bathroom, peaceful/quiet. The restaurant downstairs is nice and the food is good but once they didn't have staff so was not able to eat. Thank goodness for A&W because there's nothing else in Port Hardy (bar was closed on the main street area). Hotel was nice but the town didn't have a lot going on. We turned in early every night due to lack of entertainment
