Our room (the Galiano Suite) was clean, comfortable, attractive, and had a jetted bathtub, shower, mini fridge, microwave, fireplace (which couldn't be used due to the fire ban), and a deck overlooking the beautiful bay and grounds. Each morning we had a basket with a continental breakfast (muffin or croissant, muesli, preserves, fruit and yogurt) and I enjoyed coffee out on the deck. There is also a lovely spa, which sells Eminence products as well as a variety of soaps, skin care, and jewelry all made in BC. The property has two restaurants so you can pick from fine dining, or a more laid-back wood-fired pizza/salad option. The location is also walking distance to other restaurants, groceries, quaint shops, a bakery, and a fabulous book store. Looking forward to coming back again next summer!

Galiano inn is located close to the ferry and great for watching the many ferries sail by. The gardens and grounds are amazing. There’s many places to sit outside and enjoy the views. There’s stairs down to a private beach and apparently the swimming is good. The rooms are spacious and ours had a fireplace. Each bathroom has a soaker jet tub and excellent shower with thick towels. The outside hot tub did not look appealing and was very small. The complimentary breakfast was healthy and delicious. The restaurant was fantastic although on the expensive side.
We stayed at the inn on a BC ferry vacation package and would recommend it highly

The townhouse units we stayed in were lovely; one could live there happily forever. They were one-bedroom apartments, spacious, clean and very modern. There is one unit below and one above; though they look like townhouses, they are really one-floor units. There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom, a capacious tub/shower combo, a large bedroom with comfortable bed, a complete kitchen and a large living/dining area. Coffee/tea are supplied, with sugar and whitener. The patio immediately out the patio door has a table and chairs, fireplace with wood provided and a jet-tub and towels. Lovely setting for a glass of wine of an evening! You look out into the bay beside the ferry, and it’s fun to watch them come and go. They are not noisy at all. Nice lawn running out to the seawall, and steps over by the restaurant to go down to the beach if you want. The slight downside is the distance you have to park from your vehicle, which means carrying your luggage from the parking lot to the units.

The restaurant is very nice. Staff are very congenial. The usual spa amenities are available. The resort is walking distance to the bakery, convenience store/gas station, bookstore and restaurant, Babes in the Woods. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Great place to stay!

The inn looks attractive and has a lovely waterfront setting. However, the management’s approach to Covid containment has resulted in an eerily impersonal experience and a reduction in services. Our one-night stay was more irritating than enjoyable not to mention overpriced.

The guest room we occupied was nowhere near as spacious or well furnished as the one pictures on the website. It did have a balcony looking over the waterfront and that was nice. A major irritation was the illuminated thermostat on the wall right the bed which we discovered not be turned off when we wanted to go to sleep. I had to wedge a baseball cap over it to get a semblance of darkness. Most irritating, the Inn’s Covid hygiene measures reduced normal services and passed on housekeeping work to guests. Before checking out, we were required to complete a specific list of chores; non-compliance would result in a $100 added to our bill. These chores included extracting the six pillows from their intricately folded pillowcases, the heavy duvet from its cover, pulling off the other sheets, and bundling all the the bed and bathroom linen into a giant plastic bag. The garbage and recyclables had to be gathered into two more bags, all of these to be left outside the room.
All of these were normal housekeeping chores which hotel staff could safely do wearing masks and gloves—especially since the province requires hotel rooms to be left vacant for a full day between occupancies as part of its Covid containment measures. It’s hard to see this as anything else as a bit of a cash grab. At 5 p.m. a plastic bag containing an unappealing breakfast was left outside our door for us to have the next morning. It consisted of two jumbo croissants which would be stale by morning, an overripe orange, an apple, some granola and two vanilla yoghurts. Why would the hotel assume guests would want this —-and without any tea or coffee. As for the hôtel’s restaurants — the pizza place is excellent. The upscale Altrevida offered a lovely view of the water and excellent service, but the food was mediocre and overpriced —good desserts, however,

Our family stayed in an oceanfront vila. Second floor.

PROS:
Beautiful, well maintained grounds. Beautiful view of the ocean. Perfect size beach. Both restaurants served great food and had good service, even while being understaffed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful within their means. Lobby was welcoming and clean. Great location.

This place has so much more potential!

CONS:
Not enough bedding upon arrival. When we realized this, it was past 5pm, the time that reception closes. After 5pm, the hotel only has an “emergency line”, which feels awkward calling for things like sheets.
Only four bath towels, two hand towels and two facecloths for five people. The vila itself was dark. Many burnt out pot lights. Broken wine fridge (actually, I think it was the outlet that wasn’t working), broken hood fan above the stovetop, broken fan, absolutely filthy shower head!

No communication about how housekeeping worked. We ended up booking just one room cleaning in the middle of our seven night stay. They didn’t leave any tissues in the bathroom or garbage bags in the kitchen, plus they took our paper towel that we had brought from home. They also didn’t replace all of the sheets. Maybe this is a management issue - housekeeping staff should be properly trained and a better housekeeping and maintenance schedule should be setup ahead of time. Garbage was left out for two or more days outside the room. We requested garbage bags for the kitchen on day five and never did receive any. All little things that add up, but shouldn’t for $415 + taxes per night.

We would return only after updates to maintenance and cleaning.

We had originally booked and paid a deposit for a wedding at Galiano Inn and spa, but due to Covid planning complications , we decided to cancel the wedding and the Inn kindly converted our deposit to a credit instead. We had worked with Danica and then Brahmi throughout the planning process , and I want to recognize how incredible the team at the Inn is. Brahmi was accommodating, understanding and professional throughout. Even though we didn’t get to have our wedding here, we highly recommend this space for any couple looking for an intimate romantic Oceanside venue! Brahmi is a rockstar!

Instead of the wedding, we booked 3 villas and spent 2 nights with our family there this past week. There were initially some booking issues ( a stressful check-in but an honest mistake),but Brahmi really went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as we had envisioned and compensated for their mistake.

Everything ended up working out and we had a lovely time and made many special memories!

Each villa was clean and spacious, and the view was spectacular. The outdoor spaces were child and elderly friendly, and really well-kept. We spent time swimming in the bay, exercising outdoors on the grass, and cooking up a storm in the villas. The bath tubs were a hit with the kids and also the fireplace was great for late night chats and roasting marshmallows!

We plan to visit many more times and will definitely recommend this Inn to our friends and family! Thank you Brahmi and the team for a wonderful stay.

We stayed in both the suites and the villas. The suites were nice, but the villas were much nicer. The location is amazing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. A shout out to meia who helped with our booking, switching us from a suite to a villa mid stay due to a lack of availability as well as to Judy, the housekeeping supervisor who expedited the cleaning of our villa so that we could have early access on the switch over day as well as allowing us a late checkout even though they had a full house to accommodate my husband who became ill on the last night there. She was extremely friendly and helpful. The wood fire pizzas were also delicious and the lady making them was so nice, she made a special pizza to order for my son and when she accidentally forgot to use vegan cheese, made a fresh one in 5 minutes at no charge and was very gracious. I would definitely stay here again, the only downside was that the hot tub wasn’t working and the grounds could use a bit more TLC.

WOW, what a wonderful place. We stayed at one of the Villa's (chose the top floor, 22C as we wanted to use the deck Jacuzzi a lot during our stay :) and thought this would afford us the most privacy (we were right!) We had my mom and aunt stay in 4C units which are also waterfront (the Villa is like a condo, the other is like a beautiful hotel room) We treated them to spa treatments and they just loved sitting out and enjoying the view with a glass of wine, chatting and relaxing. We explored the island and just fell into total peace and a zen state of mind. Awesome , beautiful grounds, serenity. Great stay, and everyone so warm and welcome, everything spotless!

I went during Valentine’s Day which is also my wife’s birthday, I was really looking forward to it. I read that it had an outside tub, fireplace and grill. We got there the day before Valentines and on that first night I wanted to use the grill to make a very romantic grill lamb chops with veggies, with a great bottle of wine, but found out that our grill didn’t work. I was told that I had to use the grill at the next apartment because no one was staying there. Good thing I had a flashlight with me because it was needed. It took me awhile, but I did get dinner made. I was promised that the grill would be fixed the next day. The next day we left and return to make a grill lunch on the patio and found out that they wasn't able to fix the grill and that they would replace it on the day we were leaving. We we had cold cuts, cheese and wine. Next we also read that they had a shower with all these jets and felt that would be really cool as well, but that didn’t work as well. The knob on the shower which there are two seemed to be broken. I still had hopes for a nice stay after all it was my wife’s Valentine’s Birthday. I reserved way in advance for the Valentine’s Special four-course dinner in their restaurant. They over-cooked my steak (I’d ask for medium rare, it was well done), but it still was not that bad of a birthday dinner. I also, notice that when each table was paying their bill, they would bring a rose with the bill, I felt little weird because they didn’t offer me that at all. They were also serving us really fast. I order a cocktail and before I could take two sips they were bringing out our first course and you could just feel the kitchen was trying to rush and get the night over. My wife was in the restaurant industry and she felt they could have offered the ladies a glass of Prosecco and maybe a little tiny piece of chocolate. My wife really like the positive things like you can bring you pet and walks in the area were good. For me as the person trying to create a beautiful and rememberable Valentine’s birthday the Inn didn’t help my affords. The Inn also said that you could get Netflix you just had to use your account to log in, sound simple enough, but we couldn’t get that to work and when I called to get instructions, they didn’t know how to instruct me and told me that they would have the maintenance guy over the next day to explain, and he he never made it. TV area looked so unorganized with wire hanging out from the back. All is good, I don't think I will head back to this villa anytime soon. As well if you are a person of colour you might get the same treatment, please let me know.

Hello, thank you for your touching base. We are very much looking forward to a great wedding! To answer your question: We have drip coffee makers, not the pod kind. There are pre-packaged-in-a-filter coffee for the rooms, or you could bring filters and coffee of your choice. There is also a little grocery store one block away. If you would like cream for your coffee, we can provide you with some from the restaurant or, as mentioned above, you could also have pick up some from the grocer. See you tomorrow!
