I do think the Lodge is a bit shabby on the outside, but the room was large and comfortable. It needs hangers on the coat rack and some hooks or pegs in the bathroom. The outside deck was nice and so were the comfortable chairs and small table inside. Since there is a micro wave and fridge, the table could be bigger. The bed is huge and comfy.

We booked a room at Crandell Mountain Lodge when we suddenly had to change plans due to wildfires at Jasper National Park. I was concerned over some of the reviews and was prepared for a disappointment. Instead we found a charming rustic lodge and our unit was very clean, spacious, and completely satisfactory. We had two bedrooms and a living rooms with a well equipped kitchenette. The very clean bathroom had quality amenities - shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. It was relatively quiet, we could just occasionally hear muffled noise from footsteps on the stairs. The parking was very convenient right out front and the lodge location on the edge of town was away from the noise but still within walking distance of restaurants etc. We also enjoyed sitting outside at the tree shaded tables right out in front of the lodge. I would not hesitate to stay at Crandell Mountain Lodge in the future!

We stayed in a family suite that had a small 2 burner stovetop, microwave and full size fridge along with a kitchen table and 2 rooms with double beds. Yes, the bathroom is small, but we didn't need a spa. It was fine to sleep, (opened the windows in the evening and there was a fan) even if the days were >30 degrees Celsius. You can easily walk to the center of town to pick up food if you need. You are an easy walk to a park and a spray park as well as the beach. We walked to some hikes nearby as well. It may not be fancy, but for us it worked very well.

We stayed in a second floor king bed room during a heatwave in August 2020. This was the root of our dissatisfaction with our stay as there is no air conditioning in the rooms. With all the windows open and the fan going it was almost impossible to sleep. The room was clean with enough space for two people, and the mini fridge was really nice to keep lunches for hiking. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows to choose from in terms of firmness. The hotel is cute and quaint, but could definitely use some renovations. For this reason, the nightly cost is just way too much for what you get. There are no amenities (not even ice or a tv) and the location is farthest away from the water compared to other hotels. If the room rate was $99/night then I think my satisfaction would have been much higher as that is a better reflection of what you get for your money.

We had a plan to visit Waterton Lakes National Park. W had a reservation at Crandell Mountain Lodge. We stayed on the 21rst & 22nd. I was really very upset about the whole experience. The room was without a TV, it did not have a desk for the computer and the noise was very extreme. You could hear your neighbors all the time. I would have to say that I would never stay there again which is so sad. We were really looking forward to our stay. I would not in my opinion recommend this Lodge to anyone who is looking for a quiet and joyful experience.

We stayed 2 nights at the Crandell Mountain Lodge in July 2021. While as others have noted that the lodge is older it was comfortable and the room was a good size and things were in good repair. Even with temperatures into the 30+C range the room was comfortable at night without air conditioning. The ceiling fan and other fan we could direct over us provided adequate cooling to sleep well. The place was very quiet and we appreciated the shaded front seating areas which we used to eat lunch or sit and have a drink after a day of hiking.

From start to vacation end everything was exceptionally smooth. Making the reservation online was a snap. Check in was easy. The room itself was nice. The interior seemed to have been refurbished fairly recently as the exterior of the lodge, while nice, wasn't as 'fresh' looking as the room. As the old saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover... Overall, the lodge was quite comfortable. The gas fireplace had been left on making for an interesting time to cool the room down enough to be comfortable to sleep. When we first walked in it was a sweltering 34C and it took about 4 hours to to cool it down. Had it been -34C outside, the 34C inside would have been great. As such with it being summer, having the fireplace turned on made no sense. I'd also like to have a full shut off valve accessible in the room since the pilot light is annoying at 3AM when you're trying to sleep.
On the plus side, the lodge is within walking distance of all of the majour Waterton attractions such as Cameron Falls, shopping and dining. In room amenities were nice and the king sized bed was AMAZING!
If you are planning to visit Waterton National Park this is a great lodge to stay at. Staff were friendly and attentive. COVID precautions aside this was a great trip and if I find myself back in this region of AB, I'll be aiming to stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights. Major mistake on my part for booking this hotel, which is a very loose term. Who would think in this day and age that I had to ask the hotel if they had basic amenities. Unfortunately the weather is over 25 Celsius. No air con, no tv, no phone, no hangers, so absolutely no way to hang anything on the bar in the room. A small fan, which does nothing to make the room comfortable. A total joke. Excuses given for lack of amenities are “ we are a historic hotel and like to keep things the way they were”. Then maybe they should keep the prices in line with the lack of anything resembling a hotel in this price range! Sorry but when you are paying over 250.00 a night, you expect to be able to sleep. No sleep at all. No phone in the room means that you also have to go to the front desk in person for anything. We tried on 2 occasions, to find no one there and a sign saying they would be be back shortly. Don’t know how anyone can give this hotel 5 stars!

Loved staying here - had no issue walking to the busier streets in town and is also walking distance from some great hikes. Would definitely stay here again. Beds were extremely comfy - the kids said it was like sleeping on a cloud!

First off, I get that a hotel in a national park is going to be pricey. However, with that I expect to have certain things included in a room. There was no air conditioner. There was a small oscillating fan that did very little. There was no TV in the room. Now before you say, you’re in the mountains why are you wanting to watch TV. This is more to watch a movie and unwind after a day of hiking.
The light in the stairwell was burnt out so coming back after dark was interesting. The light bulbs in the lights in the room were mostly incandescent and inefficient. The deadbolt for the room door didn’t work. The bookshelves above the beds were too low if you wanted to sit up in bed to read or something. There was supposed to be a microwave but there wasn’t one. The beds were very soft, uncomfortable and saggy. For an average price of $250+ per night for our 3 night stay, I expected better. The only positive is the lady at the front desk was friendly. Not enough to make up for these issues and the price tag. Next time I will stay in Pincher Creek.
