Northland was our first stop on a family road trip: we were disappointed and. after staying in a half-dozen other places, the disappointment remains, On the positive side: it was clean and welcoming and Waterton Lakes is magnificent. On the downside: weather was hot and rooms were unbearable. Also many people who are staying will either be hiking or travelling...

This is a rustic, comfortable place made charming by the manager/hostess/baker. The rooms have names and ours was the Cowboy Room. It was small but for a short stay quite comfortable and very clean. The lodge itself is away from any traffic but walking distance to the centre of town. A continental breakfast of juice, very good coffee and delicious...

I realize this is a heritage building, but do feel that just because it is filled to capacity regularly isn't an excuse to let things go. It was very hot and there wasn't even a fan to cool us. A happy guest should be an inn keepers goal. The morning muffins were very nice but fruit and yogurt would be...

The Northland lodge is not just a place to stay - it is an experience. From the sheets that are hung out on the line and then ironed in a 1950's mangle machine with a slight scent of lavender on all the linens to the delightful, charming and very helpful hostess, Jeanne - this place was our favorite stay and...

This is a great guest lodge that has been created from an old house. All the rooms are more than big enough for what you need or at least our room was - this is no Holiday Inn size accommodation and that is the charm of it. Every morning there was fresh muffins and tea/coffee for all before people head...

We spent 2 short nights and it was memorable. The area was fantastic to explore and coming back to this cozy B & B was great. Jeanne is a delight and sure knows how to make one feel welcome. Very comfy, cozy beds and great coffee, muffins and conversations in the morning. Would love to come back!

Shared the lower room with another couple. With a long drive that day, we just needed a place to sleep. Location was a treat to the senses just like the muffins. Got up early the next day and had a lovely chat with our host while the muffins were in the oven.

Stayed here one night with my husband. The room that we stayed in was small and the place was older but it didn't matter much to us since we were only staying there one night. Even though it is an older building, it is very clean and well kept. Some of the rooms have shared bathrooms while others have private...

We stayed at the Northland for two nights in May and found the lodge clean, comfortable, and a great place to return to after a day outdoors (especially since we had some drizzle during the day) Stacy was very friendly and informative!! We enjoyed spending time with her around the wonderful fireplace learning about the history of the area and...

My friend and I booked this last minute on a spur of the moment trip to Waterton. On arrival we were met by the owner who was absolutely lovely, she kindly showed us up to the pink room, which suited us (both male) down to the ground.. Anyway, the room was very cosy, had two double bed and a fantastic...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This historic lodge was built and designed in 1928 by Louis Hill of the Great Northern Railway, the famous builder of The Prince of Wales Hotel along with many of the lodges built in Glacier National Park. Our hillside hideaway is located in the quiet part of Waterton nestled against the mountain and is a 5 minute walk to anywhere in town. Open your window and listen to the sound of the waterfalls all night or hang out on the large deck and watch the deer come off the mountain. And while it was undoubtedly the largest home in the park in 1928, it is small by today's standards. What we lack in size we make up for in hospitality. In the mornings we offer coffee, tea, juice and hot muffins with our famous Saskatoon Berry jam. A sit and sip to visit with other guests and learn about all the adventures available to you in Waterton Lakes National Park. ... more   less
