Mills Landing Cottages is situated on the beautiful west side with the boardwalk and paths (rather than cars and roads), the stunning Brady's beach, the mercentile store and its social gathering place out front. We had a wonderful, cozy stay in the clean, one-bedroom cottage with a lovely patio overlooking the inlet. Everything we needed was there. Diane and Jerry are warm, generous and kind hosts. We came to Bamfield with my mother who lived there in the 1950's with my father (a local teacher) and two babies. Diane and other kind souls supported us in rediscovering our history and helped make our trip truly memorable.

Jerry had us on the fish every single day, his humor and knowledge are unmatched! Boat was clean, all his gear was in great shape. The cottage we stayed in was well kept, the beds were comfortable and everything we needed was there. Thank you Jerry and Diane for a great 2 day trip and hope to see you guys next year!

We stayed in one of the 1-bedroom cottages for two nights and had a great visit. Clean and well appointed cabins. It's not a hotel room it's a cottage so bring coffee. There is a market a 15 minute walk away along the boardwalk that has everything in case you forgot some essentials. Beautiful views along the boardwalk and along the roads of the west side. There is cell service at the store and in some places along the boardwalk. Pet friendly! We can't wait to go back. The town is filled with friendly, hospitable locals and a peace and tranquility that was so welcome. Jerry took us on a successful fishing trip and we had a grand time on the water with our charter captain!

What a country!!! That's JP's line of JP's Fishing Adventures of Bamfield! We booked with him seeing all the action he gets on Instagram and he recommended staying at Mills Landing as they have a great packing facility. Well we flew to Comox from Winnipeg and rendered a car and hit the road. The Bamfield road is a pretty tough road but if it was easy everyone would travel it ;-). I may thinking about Landing in Victoria and taking a charter to Mills cost approx 299.00 per person one way but easy travelling. We met JP the next morning a little late as we stayed up taking in the Beauty of the area and soaking in the suds. We apologized when we got on the boat and he said no worries it's your holiday and trip! We then set out to Laparoos or the Big Bank 26 miles west of Bamfield on JP's boat the Dorothy Rae equipped with 2 -250 HP Suzuki outboards which hummed along nicely. JP answered all our questions without hesitation and there were many coming from some flat landers whose fishing is small lakes. When he didn't know he said so -much appreciated. We immediately got into the springs and coho right away. Quick action and using Scotty performs ace down riggers and Riteangle tackle baiting with Hoochies. Action non-stop the we headed back east about 14 miles from Mills cottages where the water was rolling but still calm to anchor and fish for halibut. Almost immediately we got action and the roads bring in the fish at a 5:1 ratio meaning you turn the reel one reveloution and the line comes in 5 reel turns. JP brought the 52 lb halibut into the boat with little work. He refers to the back of his boat as his office area. This is where his eyes are looking at every rod he's checking the weather, keeping in touch with clients and keeping you in fish all day long and most importantly keeping you feeling safe and enjoying your vacation! We stayed at Mills Landing and cottages which is owned by Jerry and Diana (diane) and staff worker Kristen. (Completing her marine biology degree) we bout a whack of food in comox. We could have waited to buy it in port alberni but this was our first trip and had no clue where we were going. The accommodations are a little dated but super clean and the grounds are impeccably maintained. Sirius satellettie radio plays from 8:00 am till 10:00 PM (on timer) with vinyl rewind going. Great music selection. Generally a fire is had in the evening or you can request one they are very easy going people, who work hard from sun up till sundown! They work closely with JP's Fishing adventures and have their own service as well. I met their guide Clayton who kept his guests in fish for their 3 day fishing package. At the end of the second day JP booked me into a massage with his wife who is a Registered Massage Therapist RMT. So glad I did after being in the boat and reeling in so many fish. JP cleaned our catch and Diane and Kristen packaged and vacuumed sealed and flash froze it. In the morning Jerry put our catch in Hydro foiled bags /boxes which are airline approved called us a water taxi and we were on our way home . Thanks JP for an awesome great fishing experience, that was defiantly a dream trip and a brochure experience for sure! JP's Fishing Adventures What a country!!! Jerry, diane and Kristen thank you for your hospitality!

We visited Mills Landing for an overnight stay on July 15th, 2017. We stayed in Cottage 1. The cottage was well equipped and lacked for nothing. The weather was perfect and the views were too. The owners are probably some of the most personable people in the business. They can't do enough for you! Fun to watch the fish come in. The cleaning, vacuum packing and flash freezing facilities are the best in the community. Highly recommend as a must visit in Bamfield.
