The lodge is in a beautiful location on the west side, with dock access. The cabin was clean, quiet and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of bedding and pillows. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed besides groceries. Tara, the manager, was very communicative before our arrival to make sure we knew how to get there and was very helpful, making sure we got to the cabin safely and settled, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. It is easy to get around and in a great location. I will be returning for sure!

We stayed at Imperial Eagle. Tara was an amazing Manager.
Excellent dock to moor our 21 foot boat. Location is close to the mouth of the harbour so it’s a quick boat run to head out fishing.
Nice grassy area for our kids.
Excellent BBQ, clean rooms, nice linens on the beds.
Easy walk down the boardwalk to The Bamfield Inn, and of course we did the walk to Bradys Beach and spent a whole afternoon there.
We have stayed at this Lodge 2 years in a row.

We had an amazing experience with Tara at Imperial Eagle. She was super accommodating when we had to cancel our initial trip. She helped to reschedule our vacation. There was lots of information heading into the trip so we were comfortable getting where we needed to get and she helped us pack our gear from the dock to the cabin. The cabins were cozy, but there isn't a need for extravagance when you're able to spend your trip outdoors. My only complaint are the lack of light above the kitchen sink and no view of the water. The site was beautiful and pet friendly. We had a fantastic weekend!

If you plan on sleeping on your boat at this dock I strongly don’t recommend it. They charged me $50 a night with no water or out houses. The host was super unfriendly and made us feel unwanted. Don’t stay at this place if you want a friendly atmosphere and someone who will give you some helpful info on fishing. I’ve lived on the island all my life and fish everywhere, first time in Bamfield and it wasn’t a good experience at this dock.

When I asked three friends to come to marvelous Music by the Sea, I wanted a nice place to stay. Imperial Eagle Lodge exceeded our expectations – from the beautiful gardens bursting with hydrangeas to the unstinting support of on-site managers, Bruce and Chris. This was my 5th time at the festival, so I knew what to expect. But my guests were blown away by the concert's calibre, the community's quirky charm and the wild stunning beauty. As one said, “However challenging it was to get to this event, it was worth every effort.” Given he had travelled from Bogata, this was high praise. We chose the Lodge because their cabins sleep 4-6 and they have a kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the cabin extremely clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, with cooktop, BBQ, and a supply of tasty condiments. We brought food with us and supplemented from the local store, which had a very good selection including fresh fruit and vegetables. Getting to Bamfield is half the fun. Lady Rose in Port Alberni has a boat to and from Bamfield. The trip down the inlet has such spectacular scenery that many people book a one-day ticket for the view and a short layover in Bamfield. And, yes, we saw humpback whales. Bring your binoculars. Extra services put our stay at the Lodge over the top. One of us has mobility challenges, so Bruce loaned us the 4X4 so we could spend the afternoon at spectacular Brady’s Beach. The icing on the cake was the 10% discount because we were attending Music by the Sea.

This well known lodge now has energetic new owners who are working hard to make the Imperial Eagle a Bamfield icon. The 5 cabins are all undergoing renovations and all will soon have kitchens added so that guests can prepare their own meals. Located on an acre of gardens overlooking the inlet, The Imperial Eagle is perfectly located for explorations of the area, and both Don and Dianne are impeccable, genial hosts. We were thrilled to discover this place and this wild part of our coast. Anyone can go to Long Beach, but those wanting a special experience should opt for Bamfield. Definitely take the Frances Barkley working boat and enjoy the half day trip there rather than trying to drive that killer logging road in from Port Alberni.

Good fishing they have an exellent guide knows what he is doing, Cabins are clean and have a water taxi, that doesn"t even hand you a receipt. Don"t think I will stay there anymore, but will hire the boat and guide for sure.

Having last minute long weekend plans, my partner and I were lucky to be squeezed in. Staying in cabin two i thought it was perfect for anything from a weekend away to longer stays. The room was clean and had a well equipped kitchen and deck with BBQ. There was also a bunk bed in the room.
The hosts Don and Dianne were exceptionally nice and forthcoming and seemed to be hardworking spending countless hours in the yard making preparations for future ground and building improvements.
The imperial Eagle is perfect for a fishing party or couples and fits well with the West Coast and Bamfield landscape!

We paid 200.00 a nite for 2.We stayed 3 nites the garbage was not emptied,no fresh towels. The room was hardly big enough for 2 to do anything but sleep, which was good because there was no TV,clock, phone, coffee maker,DVD.On the up side it was quiet, grounds well kept. The hosts friendly.I wish we would have done the food package as everyone said it was the best food in town,.that would have added 150.00(per day for 2) to the tab. As it was we were never even offered coffee.Even Motel 6 has coffee in the lobby!

Great place to stay when visiting in Bamfield. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need and the dock facilities are terrific. Grounds are very well looked after an easy access to west side board walk and trails. The manager, Tara, was a pleasure to deal with, and made sure we had everything we needed. Will be back.
