After completing the West Coast Trail we spontaneously decided to stay in beautiful Bamfield for 2 nights. One of the locals suggested West Coast Magic as a BnB and called up the owner right away. We are so greatful for this, as we straight away fell in love with the BnB and its location. Rudolf - the owner, who is originally from Germany - answered all our questions on Bamfield and bears and cougars and made us the most delicious breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean and even has its own access into the garden of the BnB. The room does not have a view of the ocean, but a few meters into the garden, at the edge of the BnB property I would say one has the best view of the ocean of the whole of Bamfied.

The West Coast Magic Bed and Breakfast in Bamfield, British Columbia, is a clean, comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The hosts (Rudolph and Brunhilde) are especially gracious, and they welcome visitors into their home. We stayed there for two nights, and can highly recommend this place as a good one to stay. Their home is located on the west side of Bamfield, and looks out over the ocean. It is only a few minutes walk away from beautiful Brady's Beach. The B&B has only one room, so you would be the only guests and will receive special individual attention. You have free access to the bedroom, the living room and kitchen area on the ground floor of the house. The living room is very comfortable and tastefully decorated (with numerous art works by Brunhilde, as well as other artists). The bathroom is located conveniently nearby to the bedroom, but is not actually private to the bedroom itself. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable during our stay. The furniture (bed, chairs, etc.) was fairly new and in good condition. The bedroom itself does not offer any view of the ocean but you can enjoy fine views from the dining area in the living room. The breakfasts were delicious. Brunhilde prepares healthy gourmet food using organic ingredients. A typical breakfast included orange juice; organic yogurt and granola, with apple sauce, bananas and huckleberries; smoked salmon and albacore tuna with ricotta cheese; bread and marmalade; tee or coffee. The breakfasts were like a work of art! Brunhilde and Rudolph are knowledgeable and helpful if/when you want to make plans for local activities (e.g., good hikes to try). Be aware that you cannot drive in to this B&B. You must park your car over at Bamfield East, take the water taxi across to Bamfield West, and then have Rudolph pick you up in his car (you should phone in advance). This is a small inconvenience, but nothing serious. The comfort and beauty of this B&B make the extra effort worthwhile.
