Beyond Bliss Suites & Spa have two different accommodation offerings, both are beautifully modern, clean and comfortable. There are four one bedroom suites with a King Bed and Queen pullout sofabed, full kitchens, jetted tubs and private balconies. The suites are 700 - 800 sq feet in size and are very comfortable for two and spacious enough for four guests. Two of these suites have an ocean view with a sweeping view of the straight, the mountains and all the local ocean wildlife. **NOTE: there is NO ELEVATOR at this property and it is one flight of stairs from the main reception on Marine Ave if you choose a suite. There are also 3 hotel rooms with ocean views and a semi private deck. They have no kitchen facilities, no bathtub but a lovely shower and are STREET LEVEL entry with no stairs from Marine Ave. With a full service day spa and great retail onsite we are conveniently located in the heart of downtown Powell River with lots of restaurants and shopping to walk to.

After a long drive we wanted a place where we could relax a bit and cook ourselves. The suite we had was very spacious and had a fully equiped kitchen. In the washroom was a great bathtub that had a jet to give us an indoor hot tub like experience. Very nice. Can only recommend.

Lovely Spa Hotel! Beautiful private Balcony room #302. The suite is one of two that offer a private balcony with a beautiful Ocean view. The suite has a large living room that is perfect for relaxing after a day out. The amenities in the room include a kitchen which we really didn't use, however nice to have a full size fridge for drinks and coffee for breakfast. A separate bedroom with a nice king bed and a lovely spa bathroom with a spa tub! The room dosen't have air con, however as seasoned travelers we found windows opening in the bedroom for the sea breeze helps and we closed the drapes in the living room and bedroom before the sun hit the windows in the afternoon. I would suggest the management add a ceiling fan in the bedroom or a floor fan. The view and sunset from the living room and private balcony is absolutely beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. Quiet, Peaceful and Romantic boutique hotel.

Nicely furnished and decorated I’ll give them that. But whats with this non sense that all rooms have to be on the same mode for their so called “air conditioning” to work. It is not air conditioning. The only thing that came out of it was heat! How does that work when every room wants a different temperature, especially for sleeping!! It’s like a sauna in here…if you open the curtain and window, don’t expect privacy. False advertising when you state “air-conditioner”

Our suite was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and roomy. The views were lovely and the location is very convenient, close to good places to eat. Be prepared for stairs, but the effort is well worth it. We’ll return, for sure, because there’s more to see and do in Powell River.

Really nice small apartment, a treat after motel rooms. Very clean. We were on the streetside, so no great view, but very quiet, which I did not expect. All the best restaurants are nearby and Base Camp coffee across the street is a must do. Why do I need 200 characters?

We feel fortunate we were able to secure a suite for 2 nights. Our suite was very well appointed, clean, spacious, quiet and had a nice water view. The 3 suites are easily accessed via Willingdon Avenue; parking it available in the back from Willingdon. Check in is done at the spa off Marine Avenue and it’s best to arrive for your check in before 5:00pm. We’d stay here again.

We traveled the sunshine coast in July. Beyond Bliss was a great night stay. Restaurants walkable distance. We arrived after 6pm and it was a simple procedure to again access to the room. Room as clean, cool and comfortable. Cool - being good air conditioning as the temperature was around 36C. We were able to enjoy the provided patio set to enjoy the amazing sunset.

I have been coming to Beyond Bliss Suites for several years. A great spot with very comfortable and well-appointed suites with a full kitchen, living room, balcony, electric fireplace and jetted tub. Super views on the West side. 2 minutes from the ferry. A warm welcome to Powell River.

We arrived at the hotel at around 2:30 just to see if our room would be ready as in some instances this could be the case. It wasn't, which was okay as check in was not till 4PM. We asked at the front desk if the coffee place across the street was open and they said they didn't know and they thought it might already be closed. We asked if they knew of any other place we could go to but they didn't and no suggestion was offered. We were in town to visit our daughter who had just moved into the area 6 months back, so this wasn't an issue as we just decided to go to her place to wait till check in time. When we got back later we realized I had left my purse at my daughter's place. My husband had his credit card out so that they could see we had a credit card to secure the room but I asked if we could still use my card to pay for it. Angela at the desk said she had to charge the credit card that my husband had in his hand at that time. I tried to explain again that I had accidentally left my purse at my daughter's and before I could finish she again said, she had to charge the card that we had at the time. I started to say again, "can you not charge the card that I used when I booked the room online", and at that point she stopped what she was doing, glared at me and said in no uncertain terms, "I need to charge THAT card" pointing to my husband's card. Honestly I was so taken aback by her admonishment that I was speechless. My husband then said to her, "You know, you could be more polite. All we are doing is talking to you about our credit card". She then apologized, but we didn't feel the sincerity in the apology. She then handed us our room keys and said, "you can go out the door and up the stairs" and waved her hand in the general direction of the door to the street.  -- but it was unclear to us where the stairs were  -- was it outside? Did we have to go out then back in through another door? So we asked her "what stairs?" and again the glare. There was no sign that said stairs, there was a door inside we could use, and apparently another door outside, but the way she directed us to where we would find the stairs was so unclear and flippant. We had never been to Powell River before, this was our first experience and "taste" of what people in this city would be like and it was the worst introduction any tourist could've been unlucky enough to receive. This was all so baffling to us because Angela was quite nice to the group of 4 women who checked in ahead of us. What was it about us that caused the attitude change?  In most of our other hotel stays, the credit card is charged at the end of the stay, not the start. However, this was not the issue here -- we were not arguing the fact that our card was going to be charged at that moment, we were only trying to ask if the card we had used to book online could be charged as opposed to the one we had a the time. If that could not be accomodated, then so be it -- but the way we were so rudely told this was the case was totally unacceptable. We have never experience this kind of poor service in all our travels -- this is not how you get repeat business. I did go back the next day to talk to Angela and voice out my displeasure at how we were treated. I told her that being in the hospitality industry, she might want to try being more hospitable to the paying customers. We felt she was rude and condescending to us. We had just arrived and she made us feel like we were an intrusion and an obligation -- people she had to deal with as part of the job, nothing more. She then tried to explain that the reason there was a concern with the credit cards was because they pay huge fees if they have to charge then rebill credit cards.... to which I replied that wasn't the issue. That's not what we were asking anyway. The issue was the way she dealt with our request to see if the credit card we used to book the room which we didn't have at that precise moment at checkin could be the one that was charged. But she never even listened long enough to hear what we were asking -- instead we got attitude and the curt response, "I HAVE TO CHARGE THAT CARD", pointing to my husband's card. I mentioned to her after the fact, that what we were requesting would've been what they would've done anyway had we checked in after 6 PM, using their contactless checkin procedure. They would've charged the card we used to book the room online.  Other things (see pictures) -- the white sheets on the bed had black marks along the bottom, the bedspread was worn and threads were visibly fraying. The dust along the wall on the back and sides of the headboard, as well as the electric outlets were extremely dusty. The heat/AC in the room did not work and when we asked for help the answer we got was, "I don't know how it works, I work in the Spa" -- which I get, but to a paying guest that's not a good enough answer. The bathtub drained so slowly and the lamp in the living room was missing a bulb. The room was very nice, but it is poorly maintained and in the end what leaves the most lasting impression is how we were treated. Personal treatment and relationships made will resonate more to the overall experience -- they are more important than the surroundings you are in. In fact, a subpar room partnered with sincere and kind service would be far better than great surroundings and disrespectful service. We will not be returning to this hotel.
