Higgin's Inn is a spacious well planned facility close to the most popular beach in Powell River. The suites are large former apartments, beautifully appointed, and fully equipped for short or long-term accommodation. Each suite has a full kitchen, dining room, living room private bath and one, two or three bedrooms. We also have our newest addition: A ground-floor accessibility suite with special features in the kitchen and bathroom to make our guests with mobility challenges extra comfortable. The Penthouse suite is our most popular especially for family and friends reunions.

Mr. Higgins and his family provided an amazing experience for me and my children. I loved staying here and will definitely be back. He was so kind to my family and provided every service we could possibly need. He gave my children chalk, writing books and pencil crayons and treated them with kindness. His family set up a small gas fireplace on his property to make smores at night and during the day let my children run free around his property, which may I add, is absolutely beautiful. My sister and I came to Powell River and stayed in a 2 bed/1 bath suite at the Higgins Inn on Donkersly Beach. Our plan was to have a 2 night stay to visit family but we ended up staying for a total of 11 nights! That is how much we loved the Higgins Inn and the family who owns and runs it! Only a few hundred feet from the beach with lovely quiet tree-lined roads, birdsong all day and ravens and eagles nesting close by. We made fast friends with some of the neighbors and their pets. 2 special dogs accompanied us on daily beach walks to fetch rocks and sticks in the water and on the sand. The Higgins family, their dog, Bella & their 2 cats, Ebony and Pearl made our stay feel like we were in a “home away from home”. We had everything we needed at the Inn. The city center is not too far away but we would hurry back to the Inn after a day of visiting and exploring, to entertain and cook for family. A beach walk after dinner and drinks on the balcony in the evening to star gaze was all the was needed for a perfect day’s end. Higgins Inn is close to several great beaches such as Palm Beach, Saltery Bay, and Kent Resort beach. If you are getting to Powell River from Vancouver, it takes 2 ferries from Horseshoe Bay but you can also get there from Comox on Vancouver Island with 1 ferry ride. We can’t hardly wait to get back to the Higgins Inn for another long visit! …

We stayed at Higgins Inn over the summer. It was perfect for my family of 4. The suite was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect, a 1-2 minute walk to the beach and the owner Robert is wonderful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend and will be staying there again.

Wonderful stay, the Inn is situated just up from the beach. Hosts are lovely people, had a very meaningful conversation with them this evening. From here it is easy to do day trips to Lund and Savory Island, all of which are just beautiful and well worth visiting. Weather has been fantastic!! Will I return? Without a shadow of a doubt.

Firstly, the entire Higgin clan are super nice folk! Secondly, the suites at Higgins Inn are spacious, well equipped and overlook a gorgeous outdoor garden and BBQ area that is for all guests to use. Rob Higgins even knocked on our door to offer some of his freshly picked tomatoes! He also let us plug in our EV - free! We've been twice and will certainly come again.

My family and i decided to have a stay-cation and what a great decision to stay at Higgins Inn.Very clean and cabin suite is fully stocked,all you need to bring is food,clothing and tooth brush!The beautiful landscape has ponds,countless flowers,fruit trees and is a very peaceful setting.But most of all Rob,Theresa and Kelvin are the most kind and thoughtful staff you will EVER meet!!
