Some of the things about this place which in the listing are supposed to be here are: Wifi, most of the time did have any, Restaurant not open, bar not open, housekeeping none. E only saw a staff member once in three days. No front desk staff at any time. Our room was musty smelling and the bathroom walls and ceiling were moldy. I would definitely not recommend this place.
This place is very close to the Terminal, but please: Never go there again. The owner's attitude is very bad. The place is very very dirty. The bathroom is not even cleaned. Carpet is very dirty and smelly. Middle of the night some drinkers were screaming around, He doesn't even care. There is not a phone inside the room to contact the front desk. You have to run down the 20 steps of stairs to contact the front desk. Still got a lots to mention, but just don't want to wasting my time.
Not the worst place I have stayed but definitely not ranking among the best. Pretty outdated all around.... but we just needed an inexpensive place to stay while passing through PR, so expectations weren't too high. Our friend's room at least had a couch and a flat screen tv. We paid the same amount but had a smaller room and old CRT! :P The bathrooms really are a bit grimey, and for some reason our sink was child height? But the beds were clean and comfy and really that was what we needed most! Free wifi, coffee machine, microwave and fridge in the room. Overall pretty basic but you get what you pay for.
Basic hotel but absolutely has everything you need; owners are kind, and the diner downstairs is so cute - loved sitting with my coffee getting work done during breakfast on my bar stool in the sun! Comfortable king size bed, basic amenities, big TV, and while yes, the room could use aesthetic upgrades (in the bathroom, new tub/tiling, carpets, furniture), it has everything you need. For the price, what else can you expect? If you want fancy looks and and iphone chargers, expect to pay double.
I booked this hotel for two nights for my husband, three year old and myself. I did so online. We headed up from WA on Friday, got to the hotel that evening. We checked in and walked around the corner to head up to our room and were met with the most repulsive dirty carpets in the hallway. I immediately picked my daughter up so she couldn't accidentally fall on the grimy carpet. Hallways are just dismal. I was scared to open our room door at this point. The room and bathroom thankfully were way cleaner than the hallway, but it was still a very dismal room. Not at fault of the hotel, but the outside noise was atrocious. Our room faced the street where the ferry traffic came through. Also the bar across the way was raucous till all hours. Because the A.C. or fan did not work in our room we had to have the window open all night. We tried to cancel our booking before we even stayed that first night. The owner flat out refused. So we stayed and were told the next night was refunded. Well guess what, its now 6 days later and no refund! I will be following up on this. Do not waste your time on this place. Spend a few more bucks elsewhere and enjoy all the great things the area has to offer. Sunshine Coast is amazing!…
Cramped, dirty, SMELLY. My expectations were low, but holy cow. What a dump. Musty sheets; kept checking, because I couldn’t be sure they were clean. Eventually decided the stink was probably the carpet, which was visibly dirty. Walls, bathroom, appliances in disrepair. Wouldn’t be hard or expensive to fix it up if someone cared. Clearly they don’t. Located at a busy corner, so noisy that the windows rattled when big trucks and motorcycles idled at the light (often). Thin interior walls too, heard neighbours talking in normal voices. Upside: no visible bugs. Air con worked. That’s all the good I can say. For this tenement dump I paid $79 plus taxes — over $90. YOU CAN DO BETTER for that price, and nearby. Learn from my mistake, stay elsewhere.
The only positive thing about this place (can't even call an hotel) is that the beds were clean and comfortable and the AC worked very well. Outdated building with dirty old carpeting going up the rickety stairs. No elevator. Doors stuck and so one had to slam the door in order to close. There was no maid service. Someone came in to change the towels. The bathroom tiles were moldy. The old outdated blinds didn't close properly - when lying down in bed the streets and traffic signals shone in my eyes. The person who was at the desk to greet us had his eyes glued to his cellphone every other time we went out, at least twice a day. The only reason we decided to stay there as the "deal" (not worth it) and it is facing the ocean. It is definitely not recommended.
I don't even know where to begin with the Marine Inn. The person at the front desk was new and didn't know her job duties. She was the only visible staff person on the premises. There were old banana peels in the plant pots in the lobby. The furniture in the lobby must be from the 80's. The hallway carpets were dirty. There was a dresser in the hallway full of garbage. There was an old pizza in the refrigerator in the room. The bed was extremely bouncy and uncomfortable. I was not certain that the sheets were clean. There was mold in the bathtub. It was loud and there was A LOT of street noise. Please don't stay here.
Nice big flat screen TV. Very handy small fridge and microwave. Overall room was very clean (except tiles on bathtub). Check in was efficient. Owners very friendly. Beds were made up daily and towels cleaned when left in bathtub. Great view of ocean and town from our front corner room (#102). Nice and quiet even though the room overlooks main street (yes a few trucks rumble by over the day but that is ok). Lots of hot water (need to run for a few minutes to get it through the pipes from the distant heater). The bath tub tiles were in need of repair/replacement and a good scrub. Bath itself was always scrubbed clean. Only 2 bath towels supplied, an extra couple would have been useful. Frame on door was broken (only noticed as leaving on last day so did not affect anything). Free wifi works well.…
When we arrived at 8 pm the ocean view room that we reserved had been exposed to hours of sunshine with blinds open and AC off. Temperature must have been over 100. They moved us to a room out of the sun. Location is good; it's near the marina and walking distance to shops and restaurants.Room was very plain and basic, but clean. We did not get hand towels. Carpet in hall was dirty and smelly. Desk clerk was abrupt and unfriendly. With some effort and tlc this could be a nice hotel.
