We loved staying at the Old Courthouse Inn. We are 2 women coming in late after traveling off 2 ferries from Vancouver BC. The inn had a flexible check in time (you just have to call them ahead of time to let them know when you arrive). I called at 8pm, 30min before checking in, and the reception/innkeeper was responsive to the call and waiting at the door when we arrived. The Standard Queen room amenities are great! Cable TV + DVD player (dvds in a cupboard outside our room), Super clean washroom, toilet looked like it was brand new, Keurig coffee/tea, and welcome candy. Oh and did I mention free breakfast at the Edie Rae Cafe was included in our stay? The Edie Rae cafe has the most delicious breakfast food. We would definitely stay at this inn again!

Loved this boutique hotel wish we could have stayed more than one night. Very homey with character, like sleeping in a museum. Good location close to Lund and a few minutes outside of main city of Powell river. Stroll over to Townsite brewery and do read the well thought out info binder, we realized too late had coupons. Full delish breakfast included. Extra touches like Keurig and makeup remover wipes. Nice liquid hand soap is so much better than messy environmentally unfriendly bars. Hope we can stay again. Thanks

We booked the "Sweet suite" for 4 nights online on February 3, and received two confirmations. When we arrived on July 17 as scheduled, the suite was not available- apparently those running the Inn do not actually own it and the owner requisition it for their use during the pandemic. We were never informed, and truly left in the lurch.

Disliked · I had visited this place once before for breakfast last year and it was amazing. Knowing this already my fiance and I were excited to stay here again. We booked for a queen room because it was myself my fiance and our baby, in order to sleep comfortably and safely with our baby we made sure to book for a queen. We had a small room with a double bed and my 1 month old had to sleep in her relaxer seat. Prior to arriving we were told the restaurant would be closed on Monday due to covid, which was fine, they told us they would being us breakfast to our room in the morning. later changed their mind and said they would bring it the night before to put in our fridge. The breakfast was a rock hard tiny sandwich that u could eat easily with 2 bites, 1 apple, and a juice box. We paid 160$ for a night away, and had a horrible experience. Which is really to bad
The only pros, The location was good and the staff was friendly and the old museum look to the place was really neat.
We had way higher expectations. Definitely won't be returning. Also i will ad i wanted to speak directly to the owner. The only person i could find working was a young girl (house keeper) i asked where the owner was, so i could speak with him because i was not happy with our accommodation. She said he was out walking his dog and had no idea when he would return. Unfortunately we had a boat to catch ans could not wait around.

We loved our stay at this Inn. Full of character, antiques and old photos. Room was small but comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated with a huge walk-in shower which we loved. The breakfast was included, cooked to order each day and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the Courthouse for four nights…

Pros: interesting historical building with many antiques decorating the halls and rooms. Good breakfast included in the room price with friendly, efficient service.

Cons: We were there for four nights. Housekeeping never once made up our room, made our beds, emptied garbage, etc. We’ve never experienced that lack of service in a hotel.

Kathy, I’m so sorry you didn’t understand at the beginning of your stay and in the room binder which states our Covid policies. Our housekeeper will no longer be doing room service on multi night stays unless the guest requests they’d like housekeeping to do the room. It states also when in the restaurant enjoying your complimentary breakfast if you require housekeeping tell your server and put the door tag to make up room. As a precautionary step housekeeping will never enter a guests room even if the tag asks for housekeeping. These steps have been put in place to protect the guests and my staff from Covid.

We were only going to be in town for one night to visit my brother. He recently relocated to Powell River and lives very close to the OCI, he recommend we check it out. We love to stay at unique hotels, and this one lived up to our expectations. The antique decor and artifacts were beautifully displayed, and the hotel was very clean. Our room had a king size bed with a very comfortable mattress, and plenty of room to spread out . Our bathroom was small, but clean and had a nice shower. There is a cute little cafe/restaurant that offers a complimentary breakfast in the morning, it was very good, and the service was excellent! We'll stay there again when we next visit Powell River.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Location very poor in old industrial area billed as "Heritage Village"
Room very small. Bed exceptionally uncomfortable and rickety. Bathroom quite nice, very good shower.
Breakfast was OK but not great. Cafe menu looked good but we were given a reduced choice menu for hotel guests. Hash browns were cold.

Incredible value for the money. Having a first rate cafe right there and the best comp breakfast I’ve ever seen makes this a sure winner, I’d recommend trying some of the smoked salmon that made on the premise by the head chef. There’s a great Indian restaurant nearby, a brewery and a historic movie theater too.
