This is a gem within easy walking distance of Butchart Gardens. Its proximity to Butchart was the main reason my wife and I made reservations here, but now that we have stayed at Brentwood Lighthouse and met its owner, Allan Adams, we would stay here just for the joy of experiencing the BL, its beautiful neighborhood and talking to Allan. We were on Vancouver Island for 16 days in mid -May to early -June and stayed at BL on our first and last 2 nights for a total of 4. During each of our stays, we visited Butchart, catching its rhododendrons the first time and its roses on the second. There are only 2 rooms at BL, and we stayed in each of them. They have very comfortable king-size beds, coffee machine with supplies, refrigerators, large bathrooms and beautiful views of the harbor. There is a deck up the stairs to the back of the home where Allan lives with a lovely garden complete with a large flowing natural-setting fountain, stream and pond. We had many pleasant conversations with Allan who had several adventures from his many travels with which to regale us. Also, his kitty, Gabby, is a delight.…
Completely enjoyed our stay at the Brentwood Lighthouse. The room was large, bed comfortable, lovely decor, great bathroom. Lots of small amenities that helped make our stay relaxed. Breakfasts were fantastic - fresh local produce - what a treat. Allan is a warm and welcoming host. The location was perfect. A quick drive to the Butchart Gardens or to downtown for dinner. Lovely views of the bay from the room, incredible views from the breakfast table. An absolute gem.
We had booked this B&B months before our trip and had corresponded via email as the web site didn't seem to work and the Allan was on holiday. When we arrived, Allan had misplaced our booking and so didn't have a room available for us. But we just said, that maybe he could help us find something else and we would go visit Butchart Gardens and return in 4-5 hours. He tried calling another B&B, but didn't get an answer so decided to give us his own master bedroom, as we were only staying 2 nights. We were so happy because the place is lovely, the breakfasts were amazing, and we met another couple who later that week were going to be on the same cruise. He was also helpful in suggesting a drive and a place to eat.
Came over to the island to go to the rugby sevens and stayed at this bed-and-breakfast. What an amazing spot. Incredible Ocean Vista. Totally comfortable bed in a large bedroom with well appointed en-suite. Everything was perfect. Host was very friendly and informative. Will definitely come back to this place again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Only a 15 minute walk to Butchart Gardens or, a two minute car ride. Convenient but quiet and serene. Beautiful backyard. Living in West Coast nature at its best
We really enjoyed staying at this scenic, quiet, and comfortable B & B in gorgeous Brentwood Bay. Our host Allan provided us with all the amenities we could need in our room, and also made us a phenomenal breakfast. The high points of our stay, not to mention our kind host, were the amazingly beautiful views of Brentwood Bay, including the marina and ferry, and the immaculately clean and beautiful home. I would recommend this B & B to anyone looking to stay nearby to Butchart's Gardens, or perhaps a stop before or after a ride across the inlet on the Mill Bay-Brentwood Bay ferry. This B & B is also not far at all from the BC Ferries to Vancouver and the Victoria International Airport (I would guess 15-20 mins), or 30 mins to downtown Victoria.
Allan, our host, provides a level of service above and beyond excellent! We stayed two nights. Not only got excellent breakfasts, (perfectly sautéed mushrooms), but he had bathrobes in the closet for us, a huge bed, and wonderful view. All this within walking distance of Butchart Gardens. Then, when he learned we were continuing north, he offered to pick up tickets for the Mill Bay ferry at the local Thrifty store at a substantial savings.
This lovely B&B in Brentwood Bay is a fabulous place to stay with a wonderful host, good breakfasts and beautiful views of the bay. A couple of blocks away is a path that leads to the bay and marina. It is less than a mile from the beautiful Butchart Gardens. The rooms are adequate size with comfy bed and refrigerator and coffee pot are provided. You also have a nice view of the bay from your bed. The host also allows you to relax on his secluded backyard deck, complete with a fish pond and lots of plants. This B&B is the complete package!
We stayed here for three nights and found the room to be very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very god and the owner quite nice. We thought the Lighthouse was a great bargain and enjoyed our stay. Everything was new looking. It is quite close to the Butchrat Gardens and within walking distance of several restaurants.
We stayed at Brentwood Lighthouse for 3 nights on our first trip to Canada, and it was by far our favourite place!! Nancy and Allan were incredibly welcoming - they took the time to talk to us every day and gave us great advice about where to go and what to see. Allan even provided maps to help us find our way round. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with robes, coffee making facilities, tv etc etc. Nancy's breakfasts were delicious and she did an excellent job of catering for my partner's gluten free diet (the pancakes were amazing)! The location is very relaxing and peaceful with a great view across the bay. Just what we needed! The Butchart Gardens is just round the corner and Victoria is only 20 minutes drive away. Overall we could have stayed much longer than 3 days and we will definitely be back! Nancy and Allan - thanks so much for your hospitality, it really made our trip! Laura and Dan…
Only got to spend one night here, wish we had spent more time. Accommodations are very nice, great views and the breakfast was excellent. Hosts were very personable and helpful. Ridiculously close to Butchart Gardens and easy drive to the Ferry.
