We’ve stayed at many B&B’s across the U.S. and Canada and this was the cleanest, most comfortable room in which we’ve stayed. Not fancy, but comfortable and relaxing. While it is, post-COVID, technically just a “B” (not serving breakfast at this time), our host was attentive and gracious and offered to provide dishes and flatware to support the charcuterie dinner (Church & State winery created a custom takeout for us with no advanced notice.) we were having on the mini-patio in front of our room overlooking the bay (glassware and corkscrew already provided). As we enjoyed our meal we were treated to visits by humming birds and a young fawn and doe. Walking distance to Butchart Gardens and easy driving to several good dinner spots. Allan and Nancy were engaging hosts, informative to speak with and genuinely interested in helping make our stay the best it could be.

The Brentwood Lighthouse is in a lovely neighborhood overlooking Brentwood Cove. Our room had its own private entrance off the driveway with windows overlooking the cove in the near distance. It was cozy (loved the electric fireplace), the bed comfortable and soft with soft high thread count linens. The flat-screen TV had a built-in DVD player and there were two comfy easy chairs. The shower was good and the towels fluffy, the bathroom had storage space for toiletries. Breakfast was in the main house up a flight of outdoor stairs to a deck with water feature and garden. The indoor breakfast area had sweeping views of the cove. Nancy prepared delicious breakfasts for us that included yogurt with fresh fruit and a hot entrée ranging from croissant egg toast to scrambled eggs and sausage and a wonderful porridge. When one of us caught a cold, the last two breakfasts were brought to our room, which helped in the recovery process! Nancy and Alan were excellent hosts, providing information on eateries, and a hand drawn map showing the walking path from their home around the cove to two wonderful restaurants, (Blues Bayou, only 10-15 minutes away, and Brentwood Bay Resort, about 20 minutes). One could also walk 20 minutes in another direction to Butchart Gardens, where we spent two lovely days admiring the plantings and fountains. The Lochside Path and the John Dean Park were each about twenty minutes away by car, and both provided walking opportunities with lovely shoreline and forest views, respectively. We had a wonderful stay.

We had booked this B&B months before our trip and had corresponded via email as the web site didn't seem to work and the Allan was on holiday. When we arrived, Allan had misplaced our booking and so didn't have a room available for us. But we just said, that maybe he could help us find something else and we would go visit Butchart Gardens and return in 4-5 hours. He tried calling another B&B, but didn't get an answer so decided to give us his own master bedroom, as we were only staying 2 nights. We were so happy because the place is lovely, the breakfasts were amazing, and we met another couple who later that week were going to be on the same cruise. He was also helpful in suggesting a drive and a place to eat.

We stayed here for three nights and found the room to be very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very god and the owner quite nice. We thought the Lighthouse was a great bargain and enjoyed our stay. Everything was new looking. It is quite close to the Butchrat Gardens and within walking distance of several restaurants.

I can't say enough about this B&B. The guest suites are the best you could wish for - as good as a 5star hotel - with a great view. Allan collected us from the ferry and drove us to Butchart Gardens and the Butterfly Garden. Nancy and Allan cooked us wonderful breakfasts at a table looking out over the inlet. They made us welcome to use their garden to relax in and provided all the helpful information needed to make our 3 night stay perfect.

We have been to Victoria several times over the past decade, and have typically opted to stay in town at the Inner Harbour. This year we were traveling as a larger group (myself, my wife, our 23 mo old daughter, my parents, and my mother-in-law). As we started looking at hotel prices, we decided instead to look for a B&B close to Butchart Gardens. After reading reviews and searching the internet, I loved the look of the Brentwood Lighthouse B&B.

There was only one problem - it appeared to not have enough rooms for our traveling party. I contacted the owners, Nancy and Allen, and explained our situation. They graciously offered up their master bedroom for my mother-in-law, so that we could have a third room to reserve. Nancy explained that they get such a pleasure of hosting family gatherings that they would move into another area of the house for the two nights we were visiting.

Upon arrival, we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and provided a tour of the rooms and house. The setting has a phenomenal view of the Saanich Inlet and Brentwood Bay community. Our daughter also enjoyed meeting the visiting turtle that Allen and Nancy are hosting for the summer in their outdoor water garden.

Since it was a Summer Saturday, we were eager to go over to Butchart Gardens and claim our lawn space. Allen kindly loaned us two large blankets to take for the evening, as well as a 'walking map' from their home to the gardens. I chose to walk, and it was about a 10-15 minute walk through a low traffic residential neighborhood. Walking also gave me an opportunity to spot a nice neighborhood playground, which I brought my daughter back to multiple times.

After the fireworks, we all came home and settled into very comfortable king size beds. My parents are cold natured, and were thrilled to utilize the 'electric fireplace' in the rooms (so much so that my mom now wants one for her house).

We stayed a total of two nights, and each of our breakfasts were absolutely splendid, leveraging foods from local farms. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and this did not disappoint. And Nancy made our 23 mo daughter her own custom breakfast, which was appreciated immensely. To work off the breakfast, there is a nice paved trail that is accessible from the home that goes around the waterfront and marinas. And after your walk, there is wifi in the home so you can plan the rest of the day from your room, from the patio overlooking the bay, or from the patio in the garden overlooking the water garden.

Staying at the Brentwood Lighthouse was definitely the right decision for us. The rates were extremely reasonable ($140/nt per room), the service was splendid, the food was awesome, and the hosts very warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to visiting Nancy and Allen and the Brentwood Lighthouse again in the future!

This lovely B&B in Brentwood Bay is a fabulous place to stay with a wonderful host, good breakfasts and beautiful views of the bay. A couple of blocks away is a path that leads to the bay and marina. It is less than a mile from the beautiful Butchart Gardens. The rooms are adequate size with comfy bed and refrigerator and coffee pot are provided. You also have a nice view of the bay from your bed. The host also allows you to relax on his secluded backyard deck, complete with a fish pond and lots of plants. This B&B is the complete package!

We spent 3 nights here after visiting Seattle. We were here to visit Butchart Gardens. This B n B is located maybe 1 mile away from the entrance to the gardens. Very convenient.
But the best reason to stay is the view. Sitting on the front porch, all I could hear was the chirping birds on the bird feeder and the seagulls.
I could see the bald eagles in the trees across the street. No traffic. No radios. No emergency vehicles. Just peace and quiet.
And, oh yeah. The accommodations were excellent. Hand crafted breakfasts. Nancy was especially flexible for one of our party due to allergies. She also graciously dropped us off at the gardens when we were without a car for the day.
Friendly, knowledgeable hosts. Would not hesitate to return.

The hospitality that Nancy and Allan showed us was wonderful. Our rooms were beautiful, 1st class and the view suburb. Being waited on every morning for breakfast was great. Thanks again Nancy and Allan. We would recommend your place to anyone.

If I told you about a B&B with one of the worlds greatest views and that Allen and Nancy had got just about everything covered, you would all want to go there. So I'm going to say very little except this is a B&B just how they should be. If you want facilities and a pool then go to a smart hotel and pay their prices. I'm putting this on my list of 'must visit again'. So don't go there or it will be full when I want to book.
