We chose to stay here based on convenience and something a bit different. A bit pricey for a place w/o a pool/hot tub/or exercise room but the ambience makes up for it on this occasion. From the sight of the place inside and out and the smell inside ( like old wood with a touch of wood smoke?), you felt like you were stepping back in time or at least settling into a warm relaxing environment. The room was clean and comfortable, front desk service friendly and efficient. We faced the intersection so traffic noise was a bit loud at times ( esp if someone wanted to hammer their gas peddle to the floor ) but not over bearing. The breakfast was well rounded but for missing my whole wheat bread for toast, and in a lovely setting. Walking opportunities near the bldg were enjoyable including gorging on in season Black berries, and a short drive got you to most other amenities like Victoria/Sidney, Butchart and Butterfly Gardens, and the ferry. The in house pub offered tasty and satisfying meals at a reasonable price.

Stayed here recently, on the way out of Vancouver Island. The location was good and close to alot just outside of Victoria. The price was also the best compared to similar properties. The room was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. Service was friendly.

The room was lovely and clean, Natalia at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was such a bonus and had a great selection of items. We will definitely stay here again.

We very much enjoyed this little hotel, especially all the extra little touches that made our stay comfortable such as great blinds, lots of lamps and outlets, soft pillows, two coffee pods instead of one, a makeup remover which many hotels don’t provide any more, extra tissue in case the box runs out, decent buffet breakfast, very friendly staff. The room was very clean and quiet, both of which are important to us. The attached pub was also excellent, with good food and lovely staff.

Our one week stay was enjoyable. The room was spacious, neat and very comfortable. The complementary breakfast could add variety, but yet one that we looked forward to, with excellent, helpful staff. The front desk staff ensured our stay was comfortable and should be commended as was the overall ambience of this hotel and beautiful flowers.

The bed was nice and firm (just like I love) - had a great sleep! Friendly staff at the front desk and the breakfast host. I love the unique decor (like an English Pub). The breakfast had waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage plus the usual continental breakfast items. I would highly recommend this place!

Rooms were okay. Pillows lovely and linen soft. I slept well and then came breakfast. Continental with a choice of scrambled eggs and sausage. They were just awful. To top it off, the cutlery was plastic and all leftovers went in one bin. Including plates cutlery and cups. I was shocked that in this day and age there was no recycling. In the room there was coffee facilities but non for tea and again everything was throw away. It was not a cheap stay and I was sad that the experience was less then favourable do to the high energy waste of the TV being on in the room along with the air con , which was unnecessary. I would not tell my fti3nds to use this hotel unless all others were full. On a positive note the pub was fab.

Pros: - The decor inside and out is pleasantly different from the usual chain decor. (I do wonder if it might show it's age more if that weren't the case? - Breakfast in the library was similarly a nicer atmosphere than the usual for a chain. The food was pretty standard suite of breads, muffins, cereals, make your own waffles etc. Hot food included sausages and (presumably) made from frozen omelettes. We grabbed apples to take with us as well. - Room was fairly spacious, more so than expected. - Price was reasonable for the corporate rate we paid. - Very short drive into Sidney / to the airport (which was the main reason we chose it with an early flight the next day) Cons: - Strong scent in our room that almost smelled like a mix of cleaner and wood smoke? - 3.5 stars rounded up? I would consider staying again under similar circumstances.

This hotel in Saanichton has a Bavarian look. The staff are really friendly and willing to help. The hot deluxe continental breakfast is very good with the sausage, eggs and waffles. It also has great bran muffins with the whipped margarine but there is other kinds as well They have a variety of juices, yogurt and cereal along with tea/coffee. The rooms are quiet even with the highway right there. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities. The pub downstairs has great drinks and food, Wednesday wing night is a blast. Overall we had three people and we all enjoyed this hotel and would go again.

Great experience, great pub and 6 minutes from the airport! The staff really went above and beyond the service standard in helping me search for my lost rental car key. Family owned with a great back story and you can tell they truly care.
