A hidden gem. Beautiful hotel, with the look and feel of a west coast lodge. Beautiful wood and glass. Very comfortable rooms, amazing view, quiet, peaceful, and some of the best seafood I’ve eaten. Very reasonably priced rooms. The pool is only for guests age 18. A negative experience: we were very rushed in the morning, it took 5 minutes to seat us (at 830am and only two people already in the restaurant eating breakfast). Staff were leisurely making coffee for another guest and let us stand and wait. After 5 minutes standing they said we could sit wherever we’d like. Sat down, again waited a few minutes for someone to come to our table. I asked if there was anything they could do to get us some hot breakfast so we could be in/out in 30 minutes. They said no. There was a function going on downstairs and they couldn’t guarantee our timing. So we quickly checked out and left. I love this hotel so it still gets my top marks. But the restaurant service could do so much better. Other service throughout the hotel was perfect (check in and out).

Three nights to end our trip to Vancouver Island - loved the location and views from our third floor room (the Saanich Inlet). A water view is the best way give anyone a feeling of peace and serenity. And, sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine - who can beat it!

We did not have the expected five star resort experience at the Brentwood Bay. The advertised "joyfully graceful hospitality" was lacking. Non did we feel our our experience was "intentionally designed to create joy, love, and relaxation." Upon arrival, there was no dedicated parking for check in guests. Parking was difficult. During our stay, the front desk girl was perpetually dismissive, along with a juvenile attitude. The elevator to the top floor is oddly placed, yet no directions on how to get to our room were offered. It is necessary to enter a stairwell with rather heavy doors after exiting the elevator to get to the room. Nor was there any guidance at all on where and how to access any of the resort amenities, including the spa treatments. Customer service training is indicated. Our premium room was on the top floor with high ceilings and a lovely fireplace. Although the view was indeed stunning, this room otherwise lacked welcoming touches, certainly expected at this high price point. The room had a dusty balcony we could not use due to the loud noise coming from the adjacent, outdoor patio of the pub. The top floor rooms have an outdoor corridor, which was littered with room service used plates that needed to be picked up more frequently. We were so looking forward to ordering something to eat by the pool. There was an appealing menu, but no clear way to order and get food. There were no attendants in the pool area during our stay. There was one highlight, however: our dinner inside the pub. The pub is well managed, with excellent, attentive, professional service, all the way around. The beer battered, fresh local fish tacos were, by far, the best we have ever had. Compliments to the chef!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback. We are so sorry your stay did not live up to expectations. The resort offers plenty of signage, however it seems we could have done a much better job at directing you to where you wanted to go. There are three separate parking areas that are all easily accessible so we would love to know what difficulties you experienced. Our food runners are responsible for collecting room trays during the day, it appears we need to do much better with this. The summer poolside service has concluded for the season, however there are menus and a direct phone from the pool that guests are able to order from and we will deliver down. We are happy you enjoyed the pub fare but saddened you did not enjoy your overall stay. We willl do better,

My husband and I Showed up to Brentwood bay resort and they said the room was booked for the day before by mistake. It was our 20th anniversary We explained and the manager would not even talk to us. The young man who we dealt with was nice, but honestly we felt the manager could of been doing their job and at least talk to us. We came from Qualicum Beach spent the whole day in traffic line ups only to go home i traffic line ups. I feel we were not treated with any concern or any regard. They got there money. Very disappointed.

Hello Melissa, it is unfortunate you had booked the room in error for the wrong day on a third party website and that the traffic was heavy on the highway. We were not trying to neglect you in any way and apologize if it seemed this way. A manager would have been more than happy to speak with you. We were glad to accommodate when you arrived even due to the error in booking. We thank you for spending your special stay with us and are genuinely confused regarding your dissappointment. We would be thrilled to have you stay again sometime.

Enjoyed one night, midweek, at the Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa. This resort has a great location: close to the ferry, Butchart Garden, in a lovely Bay. It was a very nice touch to receive a cold glass of bubbly upon check in! The rooms are well appointed. The linens crisp, the towels fluffy, the rooms large. We were lucky to enjoy a room near the far end and on the third floor. The vaulted ceilings are a huge draw as is the patio! The views out into the Bay and Marina are AMAZING!! There are Nespresso and tea offerings with the fixings to start your day. Splendid!! There are robes and slippers for excursions to the spa and/or pool area. The pool was delightfully heated. The hot tub warm however the bubble maker was not working :( We encountered several small disappointments. Upon check in, the front desk was un-staffed. It seems like the resort is running a little short. The mini-fridge was not cooling. My items were room temperature by morning, ice cubes melted, and my few groceries were warm :( And the duct-ed A/C was unbearably loud (bring the ear plugs). Would we return...maybe...

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. We are so happy that you enjoyed your room and stay in the most part, We are however, saddened we did not deliver on the little things that should just "be". Our Front Desk staff do deliveries throughout the day and are sometimes away from the front Desk for very short periods of time. We do hope you choose to return and thank you for choosing to stay with us :)

We arrived last and tired. We were quickly checked in to a lovely room and were able to order room service. We ate dinner on our deck overlooking the water and the ferry landing. Butchart Gardens is a must see, but afterwards a massage at the spa is well worth it.

Pretty, clean enough, but over priced for level of service and quality of food in pub. Two breakfasts served col with dry sausage. Burgers with dry beef patty and cold yam fries. Just expect better for the cost of staying here.

It’s just not the same resort it as in years past. The view and staff are nice, but for the price, many things are lacking. The bed in our room had a horrible lumpy mattress, that and the toilet are way too low to the ground. You can’t get out of the bathroom door when it’s closed without running your leg into the tissue dispenser, and the toilet tissue is horrible. Little to no water pressure or hot water in sink to wash your hands. That and the hot tub has very little jet action - basically a warm bath outside. When the room was cleaned, we didn’t get clean coffee cups, just some towels and the bed made. For the price and star rating, it’s missing the mark. The outside walkway was littered with people’s room service dishes all day. Again, lovely locale but it’s definitely gone down hill. We’ve travelled here 4 times, but the most recent visit will be the last. :(

Definitely had higher expectations after reading the current reviews. The staff were friendly but unfortunately the spa is seriously outdated and tacky. The ambiance and decor of the S pa and pool do not match up with current prices of spa treatments offered. Services were average and lacked a quality of memorability. My facial was good but could hear people talking in the halls outside of the room which made it less relaxing. Ritual Pedicure was really not worth it, would have received a better treatment at a local nail salon. Women’s change/locker room was way too small and was uncomfortable and crowded when there were multiple treatments going on for guests. Water glasses were plastic - which is understandable due to pool safety but they looked like cafeteria glasses. Additionally the pool towels were faded and rough. Although it mentions online that they offer gel polish products they in fact do not, which they neglected to notify us at the time of booking and we were only told during the pedicure. Other guests were loud and talkative at the pool as it was open to resort guests not just spa visitors. Overall my expectations were much too high for this resort. I would save your money and go elsewhere.

Beautiful location, amazing stay! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our anniversary trip was special, with a card and a treat in our room when we checked in. We ordered room service, it was hot and delicious. Great, quiet location away from the city but with basic needs all close by. Room was exceptionally clean with a great view and super comfy beds! We can’t wait to return!
