David and Ann welcomed us to their home in a very, very pretty part of the world. What impressed us was the effort they had made to get the little things right: local information on South West Dorset, the Jurassic coast and Worth Matravers; carefully furnished bedroom, that was cosy yet highly practical; and excellent quality ingredients that made meals...

We were made very welcome and the house was clean, neat and warm. Lovely photos on the walls, bedroom fine and beds comfy. Bath/shower awkward. The location is absolutely ideal for SWCP walkers. Hosts, David and Ann were very helpful, informative and provided lifts (including our dogs!) to the start of walks; their gift of a SWCP photo card was...

Walking holiday - pre booked accommodation. Felt welcomed despite being asked to not wear outdoor shoes inside- we always remove our walking boots on arrival anyway. Shared facilities are always difficult especially when other guests take a long time and there is no separate toilet. No television so read info folder detailing how green B & B was. Adequate breakfast....

I arrived late and in the dark. Ann and David gave me a wonderful welcome. The room was very comfortable and clean. Whilst the facilities are shared they were good, clean and a bath was very welcome after a day walking. Breakfast was spot on and saw me right through the day. If you like photography take a moment to...

One of our favorite b&bs on the south west coastal path. David was really helpful in providing info about the surrounding area when we initially booked. When we showed up, we were pretty exhausted from a long day's hike. After we had a hot bath, Anne provided the ultimate cosy dinner, really well made- shepherds pie and chocolate pudding- at...

We received a warm welcome from the hosts. Breakfast was very good and cooked to order. The beds were very comfortable. My only gripe is the hand held shower over the bath which was awkward to use. The location of the B&b is perfect for exploring the South West coastal path and for visiting the excellent pub down the road.

This was my second stay at Chiltern Lodge Bed and Breakfast. I still found Chiltern Lodge very good value for money and the standard of comfort was just as good as before. On arrival I walked through their beautiful front garden and then there was a warm welcome from Ann and David at the front door. This was followed by...

Really enjoyed our stay; one night in the middle of winter. Very welcoming and friendly and great to get into the warm and be welcomed with a cup of tea and chockies! David and Ann are such welcoming hosts - totally get the no-shoe rule, since the place is so clean and neat. Great hearty food, home cooked by Ann,...

A lovely couple - was only there for a night but they could not have been more attentive. A bed for the night was exactly what I needed and it was perfect. All very friendly and I joined another couple for breakfast, which included delicious home-made jam. Should I need to go to that area again I will definitely ask...

Of all the places I stayed at during my recent visit to England, to complete my walk along the SW Coast Path during the 2nd leg from Lizard Point to South Haven Point, Chiltern Lodge was arguably the best place I stayed. First of all I should start by saying I was unable to secure accommodation in Lulworth Cove, and...
