Came here as a family of seven on a sunday night while glamping locally. Food was fabulous. Service although under pressure as it was so busy was good but slow. Would definately come back and would certainly recommend.

Good position to take a break. This restaurant offers home made dishes, that are well cooked. You can eat both fish and meat. Best choice is to take the specialities of the day. The prices are fair, kind personnel.

We stayed one night passing through. THe best part is the home-cooked comfort food meal for dinner. I had the liver pate to start - very creamy. Then a good roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and mixed veggies. Tasty. The rooms are typically small and I found my bed to be very uncomfortable. It was a very high tub...

Had the good fortune returning from Stirling to dine at the Lion & Unicorn in Thorn Hill. Tired after a long day touring, we were ready to eat and started with the haggis fritters with whiskey sauce. They were delicious and my first time haggis eater companion was really surprised at the presentation - with the lovely coating deep fried...

We had an excellent stay at The Lion & Unicorn. Fiona and her team are very friendly and looked after us very well. The food was excellent, my husband particularly recommends the Ox cheek fritters. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms good. A lovely, very old pub.

Whilst on holiday we have tried a few pub meals but nothing compared to The Lion and Unicorn. We were immediately greeted by the friendly bar staff and shown to a table. It was a fairly quiet pub but we felt very comfortable and the surroundings were pleasant. I ordered the chicken, leek and mushroom ruff puff pie with potatoes...

We happened upon the quaint little village of Thornhill en route back to Edinburgh after 8 days wandering from the Highlands. We fortunately managed to get the last room at the end of a long day.It was very clean, comfy and we had a lovely big bath for a welcomed soak. The bar and restaurant were very cosy with the...

Glad we did. Staff very friendly and welcoming and we were quickly seated, menus issued and drinks order taken, even though the place was...
