Dont get me wrong we had a fab time, the place is clean and welcoming. With the fire on in winter its great. Great selection of Ales and whiskey too. The place is becoming slightly old fashioned and could do with a modern makeover. I had eggs benedict for breakfast with fresh eggs fantastic by the way but the muffins...

Me and my wife stayed here on a one night Living Social deal which included breakfast. Nice enough for one night, but couldn't imagine staying longer. I found the staff and the atmosphere generally to be on the cold side. However, it suited our purpose, which was as a stopover on the way to Northumbria from Cumbria. The room was...

not a bad place for food, but don't stay there, the rooms are pretty awful, springs coming through the mattress and rooms tired and basic for the price. there was a distinct lack of choice of real ale

We have visited here often for food and we find it to be a delight. It is an old fashioned pub, and I mean this in the best possible way. The food menu is great and with the specials board it is hard to decide on what to have. When you do decide the food is excellent. Really friendly staff...

We arrived late afternoon & shown to our room which was quite small but very clean & comfortable. At check in the lady on reception indicated we could put our motorcycles in their lock up workshop overnight. A nice touch in the UK to be offered secure parking. We were offered the choice of eating in the restaurant or in...

Love this place. We always visit whilst holidaying in the Dales. In a truly glorious setting a warm welcome is always on hand. The menu is varied and the food always delicious. We highly recommend the lamb shank and chicken supreme.

Popped in as looking for somewhere to stop, what an excellent choice, such a very warm welcome, with excellent food. First class service, beautiful pub garden did not want to leave. Dogs were welcome, felt totally recharged and ready to continue with our journey highly recommended

We have been today doing the route plannning for the Utility Warehouse's Annual Charity Coast to Coast Car Rally - Morecambe to Scarborough. Our event uses the Fat Lamb as a first Control, so managed to fit in a light lunch en route . As ever. we were greeted with smiley staff, an excellent selection of beers, nice dining facilities...

We were up in Cumbria for a friends birthday party. We stayed in room 7. Bed was a bit small but that is all I can find as a negative, perhaps that is just because we are a bit too big???? Food was super, Service was super, Staff were wonderful - genuinely helpful and fun to talk to. Will I...

I read a lot of reviews before booking an Amazon deal for two nights at The Fat Lamb. The good reviews significantly outweighed the bad, however the bad were stinkers. Having returned from my short break, with husband and dog, I have to say the bad reviewers must be exceptionally picky. The Fat Lamb is a 16th century inn set...
