I stayed in the property on 11/25/2016. My friend that I was traveling with booked the place after reading reviews in the past year that were positive (after a change in management). This was a contrast to the reviews that were negative prior to the change in ownership. The property is now managed by the previous owner's son and daughter... More

This really is a must for a night over if your touring the South. Extremely hospitable staff who welcome you, wonderful setting by the sea wall, views of the Harbour. The interior is very authentic, lounges and entrance hall furnished in period style, oil paintings, wooden panelling and the haunted look and feel. The rooms,we had studio at the front,... More

Great balance of modern comforts in an historic setting. We arrived late at night and couldn't wait to wake up and see the views - which we did from our lovely and comfy bed!! Great cafe attached too 😊

This is a fantastic B&B, probably the best I've ever stayed in; the building alone is worth the trip. The location is ideal, it's on the waterfront at the end of Castletownshend village, about 100 yards from Mary Ann's pub. There's standard seating outside by the water, but also a purpose built fire-pit with seating, so that we were able... More

Stayed two nights here. Had a wonderful time. The Castle in itself is just beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt so relaxed the whole time. We stayed in two different rooms and both were gorgeous. Really big and clean. Breakfast was simple but just what you wanted. Definitely could have stayed longer!

Beautiful location. New management have done a great job, warm friendly welcome. A nice touch I thought was you were encouraged to help yourself to wine or beer at the bar - pay on leaving. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace overlooking the harbour at sunset - memorable. (Also Enjoyed an excellent meal in Mary Anne's restaurant in the... More

We stayed in the Gun Room, named after the man not the items absent from the room. Just off the breakfast room on lower level. Easy to bring bags in/out. Upstairs rooms... More
