I have stayed here a couple of times. 2015 and 2011 and can't wait to go back! And it's been totally revamped since I was there so it can only be even lovlier. My daughter and I stayed in 10/2015 as part of a rwo week trip around the south, Clare and Connemara. When I asked my daughter at the...

My wife and I stayed here in October and it was wonderful. The castle is set down at the harbour of the village so our view out of our window was great. The room was really comfortable and warm with the original castle wood panelling quite unique. The room was spacious and the shower in the bathroom was fantastic. Our...

We stayed in a cottage just a 5 minute walk from here. When we discovered this castle on our doorstep we were in awe! The grounds were breathtaking, there was a woods and a beautiful lake with a couple of harbors with one allowing swimming! I would definitely recommend paying a visit if you are close by!

To each their own, but The Castle is exactly the kind of place we're always looking for, but rarely find these days. Yes, it's a real, historic, castle, but it's not totally made over to feel like a 21st century hotel... nor does it charge as such. What a comfortable, quaint, special place! We stayed there a couple of days...

I stayed in the property on 11/25/2016. My friend that I was traveling with booked the place after reading reviews in the past year that were positive (after a change in management). This was a contrast to the reviews that were negative prior to the change in ownership. The property is now managed by the previous owner's son and daughter...

This really is a must for a night over if your touring the South. Extremely hospitable staff who welcome you, wonderful setting by the sea wall, views of the Harbour. The interior is very authentic, lounges and entrance hall furnished in period style, oil paintings, wooden panelling and the haunted look and feel. The rooms,we had studio at the front,...

Great balance of modern comforts in an historic setting. We arrived late at night and couldn't wait to wake up and see the views - which we did from our lovely and comfy bed!! Great cafe attached too 😊

This is a fantastic B&B, probably the best I've ever stayed in; the building alone is worth the trip. The location is ideal, it's on the waterfront at the end of Castletownshend village, about 100 yards from Mary Ann's pub. There's standard seating outside by the water, but also a purpose built fire-pit with seating, so that we were able...

Stayed two nights here. Had a wonderful time. The Castle in itself is just beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We felt so relaxed the whole time. We stayed in two different rooms and both were gorgeous. Really big and clean. Breakfast was simple but just what you wanted. Definitely could have stayed longer!
